Karen Walker - I really enjoyed the first run of Will & Grace and my absolute favorite is Megan Mullally's portrayal of Karen Walker. It's not uncommon for me to inject some of her better quotes into every day conversation. Hey, "You say potato, I say vodka!"

Toss up between Rose Nylund and Blanche Devereaux from The Golden Girls - While Dorothy and Sophia also had some real zingers, Rose and Blanche had moments where they sounded more like me or people in my life when we're out our best/funniest. I also find them both very quotable.

Linda Richman/Paul Baldwin - More like a character from a recurring skit on a tv show vs. a regular show where a character appeared in each episode. Still, it was Coffee Talk that not only taught me that I had an accent but it gave me some of the best humor I could use on a regular basis with said accent.

Evening all,

We also made a side trip to Bangor to see Stephen King’s house when we were there. He was inside recuperating from that terrible accident when a van hit him while he was out walking.

A horrific accident yet I still love how he wrote it into the Dark Tower series.

TV characters, I've watched so many yet trying to pinpoint specific characters isn't easy! So I'm going with the 3 characters that have entertained me and made me laugh the most over recent years, which for me is what I always remember.

1. Captain Raymond Holt - Brooklyn 99 - his deadpan, straight faced with remarks never failed to crack me up. RIP Andre Braugher.

2. Tyrion Lannister - Game of Thrones - GoT wasn't short on quips and humour, but most of it came from this character. The show wouldn't have been the same without him!

3. Nandor & Laszlo - What We Do in the Shadows - technically 2 characters but can't choose between them as they're both hilarious.

I know it was yesterday's topic, but I can't resist...
Greetings from Orono, Maine! We've lived here since 2001, but I've been hanging out in Maine longer than that. My grandfather owned a cottage in York Beach, where I spent a lot of time in the summers, and my mom eventually bought it from him, renovated, and moved herself and my 3 siblings to Maine permanently. I came to grad school here in 1984, which is where I met DH, and although we traveled the country a bit, we ended up back here in Orono, where we raised our daughter... who is now raising her own family in Orono. However, one thing I learned about 15 years ago is that my great grandmother was born and grew up in Thorndike, Maine, so my family really is from Maine... we aren't from away! SO... 3 things I like about Maine:

>Proximity to the ocean. I love the ocean and beach, and even though we are 'inland,' we can be to the ocean within about an hour. I love the Maine seacoast- doesn't have to be a beach, in fact, I think I like the rugged seacoast more than the beaches.

>Lighthouses- Maine has a ton of lighthouses. I like the stories of the lightkeepers, of the seafarers that they kept safe, of the wild weather and the struggles of living such an isolated but important life.

>Portland, Maine is one of the most amazing little cities I've ever been to. It's grown a lot in the past 30 years, and now is home to amazing restaurants, breweries, shops, etc. [also Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, hahaha).

There is a whole lot about Maine to love... the outdoors, the state parks, the ocean, Acadia National Park, the Appalachian Trail, quaint little seaside towns, lobster, seafood, blueberries, puffins, moose, whales. Nope... don't like the winter weather at all, or the mosquitoes, but Maine's been a great place to live and raise a family.

I was hoping you'd answer! I've never been that far north in Maine, but I've spent time in Southern Maine and I agree that Portland is great!

Couldn’t agree more !!! as I stayed in my whole family and I mean both sides mom and dad is up in Maine been there plenty of times don’t enjoy your state bird the mosquitoes but it’s a great place to go visit just not in the winter there’s a lot to do and I agree in the last 30 years it’s really gotten a whole lot better but it is a really nice state to go visit you can’t beat the seafood I think it’s some of the best seafood ever!!! And I’ll take your summer weather over ours any day of the week and twice on Sunday

Fingernail File - I have an old metal fingernail file real long one the things I find that come in handy to use this for besides finally my nails which I never use it for that or endless I absolutely love this thing and I’ve never used it to file my nails but I do have nail files and I think they are great I absolutely love them they’re just not metal

I will second phones the old kind on the wall with the 40 foot cords fine memories of being on the phone with those when I was a kid the cordless phones those things were so much fun and now our iPhones love love love can’t imagine not having a phone

Friends I can’t imagine going through life without my friendsb

Fans - When you live in a warm climate, fans in pretty much every room are a must. In fact, one of my Christmas gifts is a fandelier! I'm pretty excited

Fish - I like eating fish, I like aquarium fish, and I like fishing. No, I have never eaten my aquarium fish nor have I tried to catch them (back when I owned tanks), but my cousin used to have a tank large enough that she could get in there with her scuba gear. I also had a fish for a while that was a total jerk that liked to bite me any time I put my arm in for cleaning/maintenance. Most fish dart away but he would swim up to me, square off against my arm, rush in for a bite, go back to see if I'd back off, and then start the process all over again.

Furry/Fuzzy - Mind you, it's going to be 80 here on Christmas but I've been doing inventory on all of my furry and fuzzy things because school ball season is coming up and it is almost always cold for 85% of the season. I just bought a new coat with a furry hood, I just dug out and washed my heavy fuzzy blanket, and I even found the cold temp. rating on the warmest of my furry/fuzzy boots. FWIW- the boots are good down to -25F.

Evening all,

1. Phones - I'll second/third this as I really couldn't live without mine!

2. Photos - I take so many especially when I go on holiday and I love them as memories of everything I've done.

3. Food - as I've said before I'm a bit of a foodie so love all things food in general. If I could get away with eating constantly, I would.
