Breaking NEWS PHOTO SESSIONS!!!!!! :-)

I am not sure if these questions have been asked.

How many pictures do they take?
How long are the photo shoots?
What if you don't like your pictures?

The photo shoot is 20 minutes long. They take as many pictures as they can in 20 minutes. If you don't like the pictures, I guess you don't have to print them out. But surely out of all those pictures I'd think there'd be at least a few you'd like? If you're asking if you can get a refund if you don't like them, I wouldn't think so, because they're on your photopass CD with all the other photopass pictures you take during your vacation, so you'd lose them too.

We had 70 pictures taken.
20 minutes.
We initially were not happy with ours but after cropping and DH touching up on our computer programme we were a lot happier. If the Poly is available on our next holiday we will do it again there.
Here's some of ours.

I asked Disney how do I go about pre-ordering the CD and got this response

Thank you for your interest in Disney's Photopass service. The special offer was made available to a limited number of Walt Disney World Resort Guests. Unfortunately the offer is not transferable to additional guests. I sincerely apologize.
Sincerely,

Is this in relation to a photopass share?

It sounds like I shouldn't use that link, it says not transferable

I don't want to buy it and then be turned away.

Hmmm, that's odd...someone else gave that link to me and I used it successfully to purchase mine...you had to sign up and log in ..

We just got back and did the session at the GF last week. The setting is beautiful but I will say I was scared when our photographer informed us we were the first family he had ever photographed with kids. :scared1: I was able to look at our photos online and he got some good shots of the kids by themselves but I'm not sure we got a great shot of all five of us.

He definitely needed to pay attention to lighting. There were a couple of times during the session I was thinking, "How is this going to turn out?" because of the way were facing, the shadows, the sun, etc. If I had it to do over again I just would have politely suggested we face the other direction, etc.

I'm hoping to lighten some of the photos on our computer once I have the cd. Oh, and he had us pay after our session. I took my prepurchase receipt so the session was only $25 and I went and paid in the gift shop. He mentioned sessions will start at the Poly next week.

Ooooh will you let us know how your pictures turned out at the Poly, I am going to book a sitting but now am not sure where Poly or GF :confused3

Yes please post pics when you can - I am thinking about doing this when I can get my DH to go to Disney again as a whole family.

Hi! I prepurchased the CD and got the email with the special code but I wasn't mailed any "RECEIPT". I want to do the portrait at Poly but what receipt are you guys talking about? Do you mean a printout of the code I was emailed?
Thanks!:confused3

You'll get a order confirmation email besides the one with the code, the confirmation one is the one I've printed and shown at the photo shoot.

Absolutely, guys!! I can't wait to post pictures!! Hopefully someone posts some in the next month, too! I'd love to see where they're setting up shots so I can think of outfits. Is that nerdy?

The GF pics have very nice backgrounds, but we're staying at the Poly, so that was a no-brainer for us. Much easier to head over to meet the photog when he's down the walk. :thumbsup2

I love this idea!! I'm so glad we were able to book it!

can't wait to see Poly pics!!

Can't wait to take 'em!! ;)

I was just thinking that the Castle will hopefully be in the background - that would be so cool.

I hope they set up some shots like that! You can see the Poly in the background of some GF beach shots, so I'm hoping to see the GF in some of our backgrounds, too. Always reminds me of Full House!! :lmao:

Just booked a sitting for SSR and one later during our trip for GF.

I am really excited about getting some shots with both me and Dh and our DDs - especially as this trip will mark our 5 year anniversary :-)

However - from all the reading I've done on this - I think it is important for those booking this to have **realistic** expectations of some good snapshots of your family - not portraits (there's a big difference there).

For those looking for "portraits", I believe Disney does in fact offer that service as well - but obviously at a much higher price.

We were lucky enough to find out about this new option when looking into booking a Disney Photographer - I did want some nice pics of the 4 of us - but it seemed "risky" not knowing how the girls were going to adapt to being on vacation - and given I didn't buy **ANYTHING** the last 2 times we took older DD to the photographer at home as she just wasn't "into" cooperating (2 years old!!)

Anyway - we booked 2 separate sessions on 2 separate days - figuring we are bound to get a few good shots out of that - and if they aren't cooperating one day, hopefully they will the next - or at the very least, DH and I may learn a few things to help them be more comfortable.

This seems like a great opportunity and something super to caputure memories from vacation - with your WHOLE FAMILY in the pics (a little less hurried and rushed than the Photopass in the parks), but I wouldn't want anyone to book this thinking it is a professional photography sesison - because it is not - and it is not inteded to be.
