Man, I wish I could take pictures as good as they did. Those are better than some "professional" photos I've seen!!! Just Amazing. Can't wait, I'm soo excited to do this. Our last family picture was taken around my DD's first birthday. She's now turning 3....and we have an 8 month old son. We really need to update those pictures:lmao:

I do photography as a side business, so I'm kind of leery about getting this photoshoot done, although I just scheduled one. I am thinking that for the photoshoot, the photographers might be a bit better than just your average photopass person, since its something scheduled. I could be wrong though... but for $25, I will give it a go. Why not, right? :)

This must have changed since last August because then....if you purchased the whole photopass the shoot around the hotel was free BUT you had to buy the pass from the GF. You could still add on any other photopass pics and continue to add more and more 'til vacation was over.

I think they changed the policy in October of last year. This way you can do borders, etc and before you couldn't if you already had the cd.

Yes, they are now charging you $25 if you show proof that you bought the CD.

I did this in Sept 07 when it was Free, too -- I just had to tell them I bought the CD (which I had). Even though it's $25, we plan to do it again!

As for whether the photographers are better at the GF than in the parks -- maybe?? I would approach this experience like anything in life -- you get what you pay for.

Don't get me wrong, we love our photos -- but there are definitely some that even I (so NOT a photographer but a scrapbooker) wouldn't have taken (we were in the shadows, the wind was blowing our hair into our eyes). So don't expect a high-end photography session. It's not -- and you aren't paying the price for it either!:goodvibes

However, you will get some good photos with your entire family, all dressed up (if you choose) in a great setting.

I just scheduled our photoshoot at the GF for 10am on May 8th, the day we leave. (not until 8:45pm). So.... how do I get there? LOL The guy I spoke iwth said something about going to MK and then taking a bus from there, but he was hard to understand. Is this correct?

The easiest way to get there from another resort is to take a bus to the MK, then take the monorail or boat to the GF.

Great pictures everyone....we did this back at Christmas with a party of 15..

THEY HAD NO PROBLEM SPLITTING UP OUR SHOOT WITH SEPARATE FAMILY PICS! It's your time and if you are booked as a group, you can request whatever groups of people to be in the shot...it just takes time away from the 20 minutes the more you split it up....just my experience.

Here is a sample from our shoot....as you can see, we DID NOT coordinate very well...hard with many personalities but that is FAMILY and not worth the hassle...

Our Entire Group:

Our Photographer did not want to waste time going out onto the beach with such a large group so I took the following after our shoot!

We were staying at the POLY so this was a fun shot!!

I'm going to the GF on my Disneymoon and these photo sessions sound fantastic! It'll be really nice to have photos taken of us together in the resort cos usually it ends up there's only one of us in the photo while the other takes it :) Everybody's photos look great and make me even more excited about booking!

I called today to ask about Poly ressies and was told that they are almost ready. They should be doing 2 weeks of cast member photos and then will open up to the public.

The first person I talked to gave me the # for the Poly Photopass but all I got was a fast busy signal. When I called back, they said it's not working yet but they should be ready to take ressies sometime next week or early May.

Darn -- I think we will just miss it. I'll keep calling and hoping!

I know before I ask this that the answer is probably going to be a no, but I'm hoping that it is not.

We are going to be at WDW in December. I know that you can have your kids picture made with Santa somewhere in the MK. If you do a photo session, is there anyway to request that some of the pictures be taken with Santa?

Just got off the phone with Disney Photopass and was told that they are putting the final touches on the Poly session. They should be up and running by the end of the week. They are not taking ressies yet, but I was told that anyone who arrives at WDW before they begin to take ressies should stop up at the Photopass kiosk that is located on the second floor of the main GCH at the Poly. He said that just walking up and making a reservation shouldn't be a problem, but have in mind a time you would like to have your pictures done.

The CM I talked to seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. He explained everything about the process including pre-purchasing the Photo CD, getting pictures at BBB and more. He seemed very excited about having the photo session at the Poly and said that the test pictures have come out great.

Also, if it hasn't already been said, they have opened the Photopass shoot at Saratoga Springs.

What were his instructions for pre ordering the CD>? I've been getting conflicting info here on the DIS.
Thanks

Are you able to add borders etc, when you get home or do you have to get the cd there?
yes you add your borders at home, you have 30 days to do this. You can end up with double or triple the original number (or even more!)

you'll have a photopass card, so make sure you get lots of pics in the parks too, that way both of you will be in all the photos. Congrats!!!!

That is the best news I've heard all day. We are going to WDW in December and staying at the Poly, and I was really hoping that we could get picks done there.

We are staying at Poly in Dec. I am so excited that I just ran across this thread. We always preorder the cd, so I'm definitely going to try to book a session at the resort. For those who have posted pics, they look great! :)

Start by going here....
http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitcdplan.aspx
Once there click the pre-order photocd button and sign in to the photopass site or create an account, then just follow the directions for ordering the cd. They explain it well in the "How it Works" section on that very same page.

Basically you go to the site, pre-order the CD and save 20% and $25 off the price of the photo shoot, go to the parks and let the photopass photographers snap away, go home and log into the photopass site, enter your photopass card(s) numbers, view and edit the pictures, when your done send for the PhotoCD, enter the promotion code at check out that they sent you when you pre-ordered the CD. Then hope the postal service doesn't scratch, bend, break, sit on, lick, fondle or send your PhotoCD to a neighboring city, state, country or other planet. :thumbsup2
