BREAKING NEWS on CNN: Monorail Accident Kills One IN WDW

It's almost the top of the hour and there should be an update on CNN. It should be daylight down there, so maybe there will be reports, too.

It's odd how there is so little reporting on this. So far, MSNBC has nothing on their site and CNN has a small link that directs to an outside source.

:confused3

>>he stated that every move is monitored and that there had to have been a lack of communication detween the control center and the driver for this to happen.<<

Along with several other systems going wrong-

Really, so sad and so surprising. My daughter and I took a quick trip down two weeks ago and sat in the front of the monorail coming back from Epcot. You always feel so special sitting up front. I commented to our monorail driver that I thought she had the best job in all of WDW.

I'm just stunned, with all the safety precautions and safety systems, that such an event could even take place.

OMG That is so sad. The poor CM's family and the scare it must have put in the other CM as well as the guests on board. Thank god no one else was seriously injured.

I was thinking that this could have been a lot worse had it happened right after park closing when the monorails are jammed packed with families.

Oh, this is terrible! Bless the family and friends of that CM. The photos on CNN are awful, you can tell there is no way that CM could have survived. I hope that they are able to find out what went wrong and correct it.

We are leaving for FL tomorrow and will be at WDW on the 10th. This is pretty scary.

Does anyone know if the Pink driver of the Blue driver was killed

According to this pic, I would say it was the Blue driver.

How very sad.

I'm sitting here trying to figure out how the driver could just crash into the other one. I wonder if there was a brake failure or if something happened to the driver before the crash?
