BREAKING NEWS-Another shooting(Wednesday night)

Whoever this person or persons is, they shoot near a major road, making it easier to leave the scene, and blend in w/other traffic. Where the shooting took place in Fredericksburg, it is only seconds away from an exit to I-95.

I also heard on the news last night, that they think this person isn't working alone, that it's possibly two men working together, one is the shooter, and one is the look-out guy/driver. Makes sense to me since the sniper has avoided getting caught so far.

Though the sniper hasn't hit in south DC, I worry about the Security Forces troops that guard the south gate at the base. There is a two-lane road running perpendicular to the gate, and on the other side of the road is a very wooded incline. At the top of the incline is I-295 South. There are always vehicles pulled over on the shoulder there for car trouble, etc., so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to see a car there. My concern is that the sniper could easily pull over, go down the incline undetected, shoot the troop, then get back in the vehicle and head down I-275 before anyone on the interstate knew what had happened. This would be especially easy late at night, since there aren't many cars out on the highway.

Let's just hope they catch this person (or persons) very soon.

I know there has been several mentions of two people working together. What I am now wondering is maybe they are taking turns shooting people while the other drives?

It appears that several of the victims (especially the first ones) were killed with very precise shots while some of the victims that have lived were hit with shots that were not as accurate. Maybe there are two shooters working together and one is more deadly than the other.

The whole situation is terrible. I can't imagine the anxiety you must all feel. :(

We were planning on leaving town this weekend to go visit a friend who lives about 30 miles south of Manassas, just to get away from all of this here in the D.C. area. I guess we need to reconsider. :(

I heard this last night, and don't think I slept a wink. Its horrible having to live with this feeling of doom. :(

I know what you mean snoopy - and it's hard on the kids, since they haven't been out for recess since last Friday. Luckily, we have a number of parks here on base, so they can get outside and play without us worriying about their safety.

DH suggested we go up to Greenbelt Park this weekend so the kids could tramp around in the woods. I'm sure that the look on my face put an end to that idea right away!

kbeverina, I’m in Falls Church and we had major helicopter action last night. Makes you wonder what other things are happening that we don’t know about. I hate to admit it, but this situation is making me think twice about being out and about. I wanted to go to the Sugarloaf craft fair and the Taste of DC this weekend, but I’m not sure that I will now.

The press is now mentioning that there are sniper related video games where the player guns people down on the streets. It makes me so sick that people manufacturer games like that, and kids actually play them.
