I would still feel cramped. But I can imagine you made headway for being at it all day. Good job!

Awesome Alison!!!

That looks much better than it sounds like it was this morning! :yay:

:cheer2:

This was actually three days (three hours each day) work and the best it's going to get, without putting Fran's "other books and DVDs in storage" this only about 1/4 her DVDs. I don't think you folks can even grasp the concept of her "stuff" if you think this is bad or cluttered!

Must go to bed or I'll get in trouble!

I really think it is good.

But is that a sheet of glass on the right by the doors with brass handles?

Honestly, I think it looks lived in. It doesn't look like a Better Homes and Gardens magazine spread, but whose house does on a daily basis? My dad's something of a hoarder, but nowhere near Fran's level, so I do get it

Its ok so many people that are worse in life. At least there is room to move. Hope they like it for the kitty.

9 pm and the Dis is S-L-O-W. I'm about ready for bed but so need to catch up with everyone here.

It's boring on nightshift without anyone to talk to.

Ugh! I've been off the boards for quite some time with the "Cat Prep". However, here is our current Living Room. Let me explain. See the thing that looks like a coffee table, it was about 1-2 feet high in boxes and crap. To the left was boxes from the cat trees against the window, all the way to the little tray table with my computer on it. You couldn't walk through on the left of the table to get to the window. Also the little table next to the couch was piled high with "stuff", not to mention the floors had boxes and other stuff, there was a little path snaking through the living room, and now we have an open floor plan!

I hope that it stays this way at least for a while!

Your place looks great! Its about as tidy as I think I've ever seen you post. I think the last time you had a big clean up was when you knocked the walls down between the units; and if I recall correctly, that was more about the dining room clear out than anything else??

I hope you get the new Kitty to make it all worth while!

Dana - I'm glad you're looking into teaching. I think you'd be perfect for that....as long as you can deal with the kids i.e., ignore some of the crap they do, you'll be a great teacher!

Its funny. I took a look at the pay scale you posted. For the US, that's good pay. For Australia, the teachers are on a little bit more than that (not much more but about $3 - $5K more in the ranges)...and they are complaining that they are UNDERpaid. I do get where they come from...for the job they do compared the other salaried workers in Oz, they are undervalued.

The plexiglass is leftover from a time when we had 11 cats and some were sprayers. We had to put plexigalss in front of anything we didn't want ruined. I think all those cats are gone. In fact, we cleaned the sheet last weekend and decided to check it again in a few weeks and if no one is exhibiting bad behavior we can lose the plexiglass.

I think I can deal with it. We'll see :lmao:

It's interesting to me because I keep hearing on the news that CPS (the public school system here) is fighting with the teachers union about pay raises and such and now that I see how much they're making, I'm like "...really?" They say they're underpaid, but I think that's a really good salary, especially to start with.

I think its about these teachers also having to put out for supplies from their own pocket. The state says they are broke. Some of the schools here cant afford to buy paper for copying. The state is the ones who mishandled the money and now there are no funds. So teachers and students suffer from there bad mistakes.

The Dis was really slow last night so I didn't update about the stamps.

By the time I'd posted my original message, I'd already called up the post office and spoke to the manager. I advised her that I'd gotten extra stamps. She freaked out when I said it was $75 worth as that is a heap of extra stamps. She thanked me for being honest and asked if I would drop them in next time I was at the mall. No hurry...but in the next week or so.

I won't be heading there till next Monday, so I still have them.

I would have handed them back in any case....I'm one of these people that hate owing money and hate knowing thinking that someone else may be sweating over a mistake like this. :goodvibes

Gotta run. DS just woke up and told me he needs to dress up for a presentation he's giving at school today. I need to scrounge around and find out what we can pull together for him. :sad2:
