I'm leaning between secondary education with an emphasis in English and hospitality management, but I'm more likely going to go for seced than hospitality. For one thing, there's no bachelor's program here for hospitality that's not at a (very expensive) private school. For seced, I could go to a community college and get my general education requirements done, then transfer to the 4 year school down the street from my house. They have an excellent education program.
That would be excellent. Teachers make decent to very good wages, and with some experience it's easy to move to a higher paying state if your lifestyle allows you to move. Retirement comes soon and pensions are alright compared to almost every other professional profession.
A small perk that almost works. For some odd reason daycares close on school breaks. Almost the same days as teachers have off, other than in service days. Works for teachers better than other parents that work M-F 50weeks a year, they don't get a Christmas, Presidents day, Columbus Day or Spring Break off.
