I'm okay. Going to get a haircut later. I worked on Saturday and then my mom and I spent the rest of the weekend decorating, mostly. I also researched local schools for next fall.

Will you share on here or a TR? I'd like to know how it went. I'm a bit surprised you are up already after a big night out.

I had a 9:30 Chiroprator appt. I'm back to cleaning the house so the cat lady will let us have the new boy.

I'm surprised that I'm up and going, we didn't get home until midnight and what a night. All the glasses of wine I drank and what did me in was a thimble of hot chocolate! :rotfl2: But oh was it good hot chocolate! :thumbsup2

I'll report on my TR, but probably not until after I get the house cleaned. I will post some house pictures once I get it done. This place hasn't looked this good in years! And it is still pretty cluttered!

good morning! UGH! One of those days that you just didnt get to do what you need to do. Okay first things first :surfweb:.

Skiing hope you and DS got good sleep.

Okay Alison hope DL was good.

Morning. Quick fly-by before running out the door. Heading to the orifice.

Have a great day all.

I have one suggestion about schools. Most people study what they think it will be fun to do. Which is great. Then you start working and work turns what was fun into what you have to do. Then for decades you wish you got paid more had more opportunity.

So you might aim to be the boss, not the drones. Study business, take classes in management. Give a reason to be fast tracked into better positions. Even basics like accounting(which for me was a lot of work for one class) and management theory, are classes that apply to a huge amount of jos. All fields need someone with these skills. Even an artist needs to file tax returns.

Stay busy, it sounds like you had fun and are glad to be getting stuff done.

Alison pass some of your energy this way. I need to get motivated.

What are some things you guys get your parents? I am so tired of giving the same thing. I was going to do a honey baked ham, but not at those prices.

My mom is past wanting lots of big gifts thank goodness! So when I visit I try to look for things she really needs but either doesn't know where to get or won't buy for herself. This year she already got her computer solitaire game from us and I found an inexpensive thin fleece scarf thingie that is also hood, and neck warmer. I also got her a small set of Bath and Body Works lotion and bath stuff on sale last month. Her favorite gift is time we spend with her!

She also loves it when I make her a simple card with my scrapbooking supplies. I don't do that for most people but it's so easy and she gets to brag about it when the other retirees come to visit in her apartment.

We really didn't do much most of the time was spent either waiting in line for the CP, watching it or at dinner. Dinner was long but really good and fun.

I did, did you see my post from earlier today, I got extra sleep too.

It's always been tough. I try to get her something that gets used, because she has plenty of things on shelves that just sit there.

One year I got her a robot vacuum. It was used exactly, as many times as I went over and set it up. I'm not sure she ever used it.

One year some stuff for sewing, a tackle box, so she could sort threads and needles in it. It's worked great because she could carry stuff to quilting club.

Last year chocolate chips. I said she could use them to bake or snack on. I felt a little guilty being so cheap, but I know they got used 100%.

My dad I almost always went with tools, or books that were about his interests or hobbies. Tools are expensive but they last a long time and now my brother and I use them.

They used to do trips a lot, so I would give them travel books.

Here is a preview from my phone.

Thanks everyone for ideas, I think I got one covered for the idea of fishing. Alison who was the narrator? The first time we saw it at WDW it was Mario Lopez and got great pics to boot.

No I didnt see your post earlier Skiing, but glad you got sleep.:thumbsup2

Yeah, the bolded is why I've pretty much decided not to go into culinary. I don't want to hate something I currently love.

I'm leaning between secondary education with an emphasis in English and hospitality management, but I'm more likely going to go for seced than hospitality. For one thing, there's no bachelor's program here for hospitality that's not at a (very expensive) private school. For seced, I could go to a community college and get my general education requirements done, then transfer to the 4 year school down the street from my house. They have an excellent education program.

We are going to see some show of lights, wont tell you what as I dont want to disappoint you if isnt worthy. So hopefully some pics.

Dana, I would love to go back to school. If you can that would be wonderful. You might be able to get help with the low hours you work.:thumbsup2

I should qualify for financial aid regardless. Even when I had my old job and was making $10/hr, I qualified for the maximum Pell grant. I'm hoping to be able to find more financial aid, though. In any case, the Pell grant will more than pay for the community college, which is a good thing.

Gary Sinise was the narrator.

That's why I never wanted to open a restaurant, it wouldn't be fun anymore.
