Breakfast: Boma or Tusker House?

Ok, so I booked Boma because SO many people have talked about how good it is for breakfast, and I was looking forward to it....however, I really like the idea of doing Tusker House, and being in the park "early" when it opens...I just found I can get an 8 am ressie at Tusker House (not on the day I wanted, but we can change plans...actually didn't plan on being at Disney yet that morning, but now we are going early. To be honest, the charcter aspect doesn't influence us either way. Just like the idea of "pre-entering" the park. That being said....should I stick at Boma due to good food reviews (and we would check out AKL) or switch to Tusker to be in the park early? We are only doing 1 breakfast buffet...what would you do? Thanks!

Boma 100%. You get over 40 different food options, some of your favorites and some African influenced dishes. LOVE the atmosphere. Food was incredible.

If characters dont matter to you, then you would be disappointed at Tusker.

Our TA calls Tusker House "Boma Lite." They have similar African food, but Boma has a much larger selection (and is our fave restaurant!). I have only eaten there at lunch and dinner, but I have a feeling breakfast will follow the same rule. You can check out the menus on AllEars.

The food at Tusker House is very good (have never eaten at Boma). One of my favorite restaurants at Disney. If you aren't staying at AKL I would go to Tuster House otherwise you are going to burn up a lot of time traveling, unless you have a car it may not be that bad.

Can anyone compare the breakfast food at Boma and Tusker House? I've been to Tusker House before. The menus online seem about the same for breakfast.

We have eaten at both Boma and Tusker House for breakfast. We do prefer Boma. It is my favorite breakfast place! However, Tusker House is very good and I would agree with calling it Boma lite. They have some interesting choices for breakfast that are beyond your standard breakfast fare. I think the character interaction here is some of the worst there is but since that doesn't matter to you maybe you should do Tusker House to be in AK early. AK is my absolute least fave park to try to get into in the a.m. The lines are always endlessly long and move slowly. It would be nice to beat all that and already be in the park and Tusker does have a very good breakfast.

Boma. DH and I both think they have significantly better food than the Tusker House.

;) I would have said Boma until last year. We stayed at Kidani and went over one morning. It took forever to get through the food line since it was single file almost and people were getting peeved (not me of course because I am always perfect). There is a wall that keeps people in more of a line rather than walking stright up to get things. It is busy and loud. Now take this with a grain of salt becasue I am 42 and we do not have children.

We did Tusker House in 2008 with my parents and they actually let us in early, took our pic (we didn't get it) and seated us. The character interaction is decent but hurried and the section we were in was much smaller. However I do not remember the lines being an issue there. It is right outside the safari so we did that first, then did EE. Maybe not the best idea right after breakfast but we survived.

The food choices are very similar--so you just need to pick what is more important to you---being in the park early or having a more leisurely breakfast in a beautiful resort with your family.

Tusker is my familys favorite breakfast, and we have eaten both, yet Boma is my favorite for dinner.
