Breakfast at Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace?

Would you have breakfast at Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace? Our kids are 13 and 18, so don't really care which characters we see. Thought it might be more convenient to go to CP on a day we're going to MK anyway, rather than having to go to the Contemporary (staying at CSR). Is the food better in one than the other for breakfast, or are they similar in quality?

If you asked DD10, she would say CM. The characters at the CP (Pooh, Tigger) were not as exciting as the CM (Mickey, Donald, Pluto, etc.) But that's a young girl's opinion, which has no relevance to your situation.

To your point, the food was a bit better at CP, and I think there is a bonus if you are an early riser. If CP opens before RD, I recommend taking the early ADR and being amongst the first to walk down Main Street USA, and taking it all in without the crowds. Plus, when the park opens after you finished breakfast, you get a head start on the rest of the crowds.

Others I've seen post have said the food is a lot better at CP.

From an adult's perpective, I would go with CP. Since your boys are older and really don't care, they might agree. Plus, for you, you don't have to make an unnecessary stop at the CR.

Thanks, that's a good point about going before rope drop. We are early risers, so this shouldn't be a problem. Seems like it would be fun to walk down Main Street before the crowds, which is something I hadn't considered.

Nothing beats CP on a non-EMH morning when you get in before rope drop and have Main Street to yourselves. The food is great too. It'll be our top pick for now since my DS is obsessed with Pooh.

We've done both and probably this past trip, the food at CM was better than CP. But, if you're going to go early I would pick CP just to see the empty park :) . I think you're kids will enjoy either restaurant though.

When my girls were 14 they liked both but CP has better food and they loved the characters at CP.....both had great service but I remeber the waitress at CP more...she was soo good...drinks always refilled and gave us all the time we needed...never rushed us....

Pooh sat down with them( more like plopped down)..they loved it ..even tho' they tried to be cool about it...

Chef Mickey's has a great atmosphere for breakfast with the classic Disney characters, however if your planning to visit the Magic Kingdom that morning Crystal Palace might be the better location since it's right there.

IMHO - food is the same at almost all the breakfast buffets. Go for the character/ ambiance & location.

MY opinion: CP. Nothing beats sitting in an atrium like atmosphere with the sun shining in and a fresh cup of OJ while pooh & gang mingle.

DS (11) is in LOVE with CM. Maybe it's the proximity to the monorail, the characters, who knows. It's just not a proper vacation to him unless we start off with breakfast with Mickey & pals there. I could go without CM as I think it's overpriced for the experience, we still have to get over to the park afterward & it's a bit darker, more confined atmosphere (2 out of the 3 last visits we made had us sitting in the 'back' area) & the morning sun doesn't hit the windows.

DD (15) LOVES O'Hanas (not one of your choices & not a buffet) It's the 'magic juice', scrambled eggs and fact that it's in the Poly that have her hooked.

Each to their own. Hey, Do both and decide for yourself ;)
