Don't know if I'm opening a huge can of worms here, but I remember a year or so ago, lots of threads about them.

When we went in June of last year, we didn't see any, but our next trip is planned for the first week of January.

Do I need to worry about them?

I tried using the 'search' feature on the forums, but it hasn't been working for quite awhile, so sorry if this has been gone over before! :)

Don't worry about the Brazilians. "Come on in, the Parks are fine!" Brazilians offer no more of a challenge than any other group of folks. They aren't wild animals.

I think they come in July/Aug time frame

I also think it's July-August because that 's when it's winter there. I'm not sure how "wintery" it gets in Brazil, but I remember reading the season for the tour groups is July-August.

There are plenty of them here in June now...

Thanks, Geoff! :thumbsup2

I just remember hearing some not-so-flattering stories about them, but haven't seen any recently.

So, I guess that's good! LOL

Dont' worry, I'm from Brazil but there's just me and my girlfriend, and we are very peaceful.

I can't believe this question!!
They are just having a good time !! that's what WDW is all about ... you would have the same issue with Cheerleaders, SportsTeams, Grads ... a bunch of school children.
I'm not brazilian but I would be quite offended if i read this post ... I wonder what you say about us Canadians??:rolleyes1

Actually its a valid question...over the last five years they have really toned down...but used to be terrors at Disney...these were very large groups of kids, not at all supervised...who didn’t speak the language, know the customs and got a very bad reputation...

They are here now and will continue till the end of the summer (sort of like hurricane season)...but over the last few years have gotten so much better....

Don't even get me started on Canadians!!! :lmao:

Yeah, not sure what the deal is with this question. I've not read anything about issues with Brazillians at the parks. Could you direct us to some of these previous posts?

Brazil's economy is doing better, it's cheaper to travel to USA these year for us. So you can expect a lot of people, especially in july and january. Unfortunetelly, some groups of kids and teenagers are so excited to be in WDW that just can't behave very well.

Realistically you can expect shenanigans from any large tour group and personally I would complain about any and all of them if they caused a negative impact on my trip - whether it be and foreign or domestic tour group. I can't say that I was a complete angel when I went away with a large group and my parents weren't there, but I was always respectful of where I was and the people who were around me. And in all honesty, I don't think it's asking much for others to think like that now - maybe I'm just old fashioned that way.

It just so happened to be the Brazilian tour group that completely and utterly devistated my experience at ASMusic. So much so, that I will never stay there again in the summer months. I have posted numerous times about several incidents that happened on the part of the group, so I won't go into it again, but some of it was entirely inappropriate for a family atmosphere.

While I am not trying to be offend anyone (all evidence to the contrary :rotfl: ) and it really wasn't the entire group that behaved so badly, but it was that fraction of the group that brought the whole negative perception onto the entire group. Unfortunately that is how stereotypes and prejudices are started and it is unfair to the rest of the group and I will be the first one to admit that I am just as guilty about doing the whole "guilt by association" thing. I guess I am just saddened to see so much lack of judgement and good manners in some - for lack of a better phrase - while I'm doing everything in my control to raise my children to be respectful and mindful of others.

have to agree with you about expecting issues with any large group, no matter where they happen to be from.

Its a shame, for some people it seems like they when they go on vacation they forget to pack their manners and common sense.

This is exactly how I feel too. I guess unless you go through it, you'll never know. I have no problems with staying at a value, but for the same reason as you, never again in the summer.

It is just like I am always saying, WDW would be so much FUN if it weren't for all the pesky children!!;) :rotfl: ;)

When we went last July there were large groups of them there (not at our resort we were at POFQ). My biggest problem was that I found the groups to be unruly and ill mannered. They were extremely pushy (as in my DD was pushed right off a bench :sad2: ) and loud.

I don't think it had much to do with the fact that they were Brazilian but more to do with the fact they were teenagers and were "in their own world". They just weren't paying attention to any one around them.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: You sound like my boyfriend....and me sometimes...but kids are nice

I was totally kidding! I have a 10 and 12 year old who are mostly responsible for our Disney trips! I was hoping the winks I added would make it clear that I was making a feeble attempt at sarcasm!

I understand, but your day can be "ruined" by any group on any given day. The only changes I'd make to my plans would be the choice of resort if a "known" group like cheerleaders are in town.

BTW, we've been here during one of the larger cheer competitions, but we were staying at a moderate. It wasn't a big deal other than the eye strain my wife and I got due to repeated eye-rolling at one another as we listened to all of the "estrogen princesses" recounting their dramatic lives to one another!

The bottom line is there can be challenges be it the hot summer weather, the cold spells in winter, all of the kids in Heely's running around the parks now, or the smokers you run into every 50 feet at the parks (or bus stops, or resorts, or anywhere else here).

My last trip in Jyly 05, DW was inundated with Brazilian Tour Groups. I have to say, I have never encountered large groups of them at wither WL or CBR.

But the parks are a different story........They were especially obnoxious at Fantasmic one night. Very loud, three different tour groups trying to outshout each other, till one brave fellow got up and started shouting USA, USA, and the crowd joined in until we outshouted the Brazilians. Itr was actually kind of funny.

For some reason and I have no idea why, the groups I encountered during a five day(went to all four parks) trip were the worst at MGM and MK and best at AK and Epcot.
