Brazilian Tour Groups?

A good friend of mine went in July a couple years ago and he said the Brazilian Groups were there then.

I can't believe this question!!
They are just having a good time !! that's what WDW is all about ... you would have the same issue with Cheerleaders, SportsTeams, Grads ... a bunch of school children.
I'm not brazilian but I would be quite offended if i read this post ... I wonder what you say about us Canadians??:rolleyes1

Have you been to WDW when they have visited?? I have and they are rude, loud, obnoxious. They butted in line, pushed, shoved and I could go on. I have nothing against any group that goes but these kids were very out of hand.

When we see the flag; we head in the other direction:0 It can be scarey to get caught up in that group:eek:

My personal opinion is that Disney needs to get a better handle on out-of-control groups (of all nationalities) including cheerleaders, ball teams, school groups, etc. If they simply start cracking-down by giving one warning (to the persons involved and the group leader), then kicking them off property, the word will get out and hopefully stop (or at least not be as bad)...it will make for a more enjoyable vacation for everyone. It sounds as though someone is going to get seriously hurt (or even killed) if things are not brought under control soon. WDW should be a safe place to take your children...as parents, how can we comfortably do so (especially little ones) if we are afraid of them being trampled by such rude people...adult, adolecent, or otherwise???

I've got a story to add to this thread!

So anyway, we were standing in line and this VERY large group of Brazilians got in line a few parties behind us. Now this was around the time of the World Cup, and apparently Brazil was playing to win. >>>>>

Well they must have won that year!!!My mother who was in her seventies at the time was almost mowed over by thongs of Brazilians teens chanting"Brazil, Brazil",,,after Brasil won the World Cup that day. They literally took over Main Street USA. My poor mother was standing there just minding her business on the side of the street when they came down the street like a horde of locusts.

I agree, it's nice to show national pride but this was WAY over the top.

I agree.

The real question is why does Disney turn a blind eye to this?

It has gone on for years and 1,000's of complaints...

Disney has security people in the parks, but they give these groups a free pass at pushing and shoving guest that are trying to enjoy their trip. ( I thought it was against the law to put your hands on another person) I've been pushed passes as some of these kids ran through the line like a knife through hot butter.

What gives?

I honestly don't know. :confused3

My cynical jaded side says for the money, but I don't know, really.

I can't think of any other reasons they would allow it to go on like they do. :confused3

I am sure it all has to do with the $$$$....one booking fills a lot of rooms and sells a lot of tickets....not such a big hassle on THEIR end....not sure about ours...

I have often wondered why WDW does not send all groups(football, baseball, dance, cheer and even school and tour groups) a "introduction to your WDW vacation" in the form of a phamphlet addressing the common complaints or having all groups attend a "mandatory mini seminar" 10-15 minutes on how to act in parks/resorts-tied to their tickets(they will not activitate until they see/hear the information). Obviously no one is doing this with them and the chaperones can not be everywhere. After that 1 warning, then you are out.

We were there in July last year. I saw numerous groups from other countries. They were for the most part well behaved. But acted like typical teenagers. The only problem I had was if a group of 50 to 100 got ahead of me in a line. I would just go somewhere else. This time I'm going late in August so maybe they'll be gone.

I've rarely had the experience to witness a well-behaved Brazilian tour group.
If it'll make people reading this thread happier, there are two large contingents of Brazilian youth groups here now... the "red shirts" and the "blue shirts". We can't speak for the resorts, but we've witnessed zero problems in the parks with any of the kids. Perhaps you're safe unless it's a World Cup year! :lmao:

I also 2nd the comment about English speaking kids, no nationality has cornered the market on rude behavior at WDW!.

World Cup year was '94...remember it well as we were on our honeymoon. It was also our last trip in July until this coming July. The tour groups were annoying then, and I really only recall the line cutting being the big deal to me.

That said, when we started planning the July trip, both my wife and I had the same thought at the same time and looked at each other and said, "Brazilian tour groups." Then we shrugged it off and went ahead with the plan... ;)

Don't worry about the Brazilians. "Come on in, the Parks are fine!" Brazilians offer no more of a challenge than any other group of folks. They aren't wild animals.

but i guess it's not below them to beat up one of the country bears kick him when he's down and then attack his handler because she tried to stop them. happened last year about this time.

Yep, and a couple of years ago a father and son at a White Sox game ran out and attacked a base coach... but I wouldn't use that incident to indict Chicagoans in general. So what are we to make of people from New Hampshire given that a year ago a kid from there tried to take Tigger's head off in the park??? This May five people from New York state were arrested for allegedly attacking an Orange County sheriff's deputy near Space Mountain... If you find that New York schools aren't in session the week you're planning to visit, should you cancel?

Like they would listen! They'd probably start some kind of chant during the seminar anyway.

I don't mind them all being in a huge group of 100 or whatever, because that makes it easier to steer clear of...they go one way & I go another. The thing I CAN'T stand is the chanting...I understand there's cultural differences but c'mon, when you're stuck in a line with nowhere to go, doesn't it dawn on someone in the group that they're acting obnoxiously?

apples and oranges my friend.

your using a baseball game to compare to Disney. Baseball has become a sport where players who are suppose to be role models have been known to fight with each other in massive brawls. This incites the reciprocal action of violence. So it is no surprise that somebody and his son thought it okay to jump a base coach. Comparing that to the happiest place on earth where people go to spend a quite fun and safe day with the family, there is just no comparison. In addition, I only mentioned one of the more serious incidents in a long line of abuse that characters receive from these groups. Now grant it they are there to have a good time but most of the time they get way out of control.

At least the cheerleaders don't beat up mickey.

Most? Really? If anecdotes are facts, then it would appear that East Coasters would give Brazilian's a run for their money at WDW!!!
