So, was getting my hair colored last night and asked my stylist what her suggestions were to tame my frizzy hair. When I was younger, my hair was very long and stick straight -- I could wash it, flip it upside down to blow dry and it would look great. As I've gotten older the texture has changed -- it now has quite a bit of wave and can be very frizzy. I still wear it long (about 6" past my shoulders), so the only way to get it to look nice and smooth is to wash, blow dry it out straight with a round brush and then flat iron. This takes roughly 45 minutes to an hour minimum as my hair is also extremely thick. Needless to say, I don't want to put this much time into hair styling every day, so I usually end up pulling it into a ponytail most of the time.
My stylist suggested a Brazilian Blowout. And she said that she would do it for $150 if I do it at the same time as my next cut/color -- regular price is $200. Supposedly it will last for 10-12 weeks. Has anyone had this done? If so, how did you like it? Was it worth the $$? I know there have been some complaints about the chemicals that are used -- but they now have the "Zero" formula that doesn't use the questionable chemicals. So, I'm not worried about that. Just not sure I want to spend that much without being sure it's going to work.
TIA!
