Just a little info. from our trip to help answer questions I have seen and asked myself.

The work on Casitas 5 is coming along very fast. They are very quiet and clean while their are working so no need to worry about the noise.

A pooh sized person will fit on the slide, try it out it is such a blast.

Glen hung out every morning in front of El Centro. He, the turtles and the fish are big beggers in the morning.

Pepper Market and The Dining Plan.
-You can have anything in the case for dessert. They did not limit us.
-When using the DP you DO NOT have to pay the 10% tip. It was included in the price of our meal. But you can always leave extra if you want.
-Most of the meals are big enough to share and we did this a couple of times.

The Rooms
-Our Shower curtain was changed on day 3 or 4. They seem to do this when the same day they change the sheets.
-The queen beds do seem a little smaller than a normal queen, but they are plenty big.
-The only time we heard the people around us was when in the bathroom. You could hear their showers running, but that was it.
-The renovated rooms are very nice, the tv is great and so is the over all look. I do have to say the desk is nice, but I think a table and chairs would have been better.

The one thing that shocked me at CSR was all the people walking around smoking. Smoking in the stairs, by their rooms, at the hot tub and pool. Very few people seem to used the designated smoking spots.

I hope these help answer some people questions.

Thanks for all that info. I'm shocked by the smoking thing. I have never noticed it at the pool or hot tub; I have noticed it outside of room doors. I'm a former smoker (I always used the designated smoking area) and I have on occasion indicated to a person where the "nearest smoking area" is.

Okay, since we're not going to Disney this year and I can't post any Disney pictures, I'm posting this picture of our oldest son (the one who is taking his 14-year old baseball team to Disney in July) with his girlfriend. This was taken Sunday night at her college graduation dinner. They make a cute couple:

What a great looking couple! Andy is such a handsome guy anyway...and they match (which equals lovely babies ;)!

They look like such a nice couple. ::yes::

I'm so glad you posted the photos. Thanks!

Wow thank you for all the info on this thread.

We will try CSR, our first moderate resort, next year.
Our DD wants the YC, but with my loss of my job - the moderate resorts will be in our price range.

We will also try DDP for the first time. Thanks for all the hints about the PM.

I think the main pool and slide will be a big hit with our DS who will turn 18 when we go to WDW and our DD who will be 14.

I am convincing my DH the buses at CSR run smoothly and remind him, he has taken buses. From the Dolphin - bus to MK DTD, and AK. From the WL - bus to DHS, AK, DTD and sometimes EPCOT (we liked to boat to MK and monorail to EPCOT, gave DH time to finish his coffee). From CR - bus to DTD, AK and sometime DHS (or boat from EPCOT). Besides we know WDW transportation pretty well and can still ride the monorail and boats to get to and from some TS and parks.

We do not mind conventioners. At the Dolphin, from the boat dock entrance into the resort, we had to make our way through a cocktail party in the lobby area to get to the elevator to our room. Just a bit of "pardon me, just passing through". :rotfl:

I love to read more reports and updates about CSR.
Thank you again for DIS and everyones comments.:goodvibes

Welcome back!! So glad you had an awesome time with your family!

Okay, we want details (just like from everyone else...no exceptions for CM's. ;)) Which bldg were you all in, how was your view? Did you have a refurbished room?

And you even have trips to look forward to! :yay:

Yep, you were missed. ::yes::

I was in a junior suite on the first floor of Casitas 3. We faced the courtyard, but we were so rarely in our room, that we didn't care about the view. The room wasn't refurbished, but that didn't bother us.

My DH & Dad are both former smokers and always went to smoking areas.

JamesLynn, how sweet of you to reply. Thank you! I was just teasing.;)

What a great picture! Thanks for sharing!:)

Oh Kathy, what a great picture! They look so young and what a nice looking couple. Ahh, youth.

I am so bummed about your trip.

Oh, and I've run into that smoking thing at every single resort we've stayed at. I know they have to smoke somewhere but the pool area is what I don't like. Especially the cigars.

This thread always makes me miss CSR!

Thanks, Amy (and everyone else who has written about Andy and Nicole). They are a nice looking couple if I do say so myself. I want them to stay "young" a while longer and do not want to hear anything about a :groom: for awhile (at least until Andy has a REAL job which won't be until at least a year from September when he finishes school and by then he'll be almost 25).

I know what you mean...I sometimes don't want to read this thread since we aren't going to CSR this year...but it just makes me all the more determined to get back there next year! :yay:

Does anyone have a current pic of what the resort refillable mugs look like right now or do know where I can find a pic ?

thanks

Hey yall I just now got home today from CS. We had 7 great days there. My wife and I we in building 4 room 4221. It had a pool view and it was right next to the fitness center so that was good. More info to come on friday when I post my trip report.

Excellent! Can't wait to read your trip report. I hope you have pictures too. Since we're not going this year I'm having withdrawal for pictures of my beloved CSR!

They're SO cute! :lovestruc

We leave in the morning for our journey to Disney! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

We'll arrive Friday around 3ish to check in. I can't wait, though am hoping that the rain disipates just a little (don't mind a little to keep the crowd levels down). Anyone leaving for a trip this week/next week check the hours, they have added some hours on to several days! :cool1:

I will be sure to take TONS of pics and hope to have a wonderful trip report to share when we get back on the 30th.

Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend everyone!!!:wizard:

I am hoping for some pixie dust at CSR when we arrive on June 26.
Hopefully, one of you will have some encouragement for me.

I bought the Buy 4/Get 3 Free package. Then my DH came home and told me that his work had to change the dates of his vacation. Then we got a great rate on airfare so we will be arriving one day earlier than originally expected. I tried to switch our arrival day up one day for the package, but if I moved it up a day, I would lose the deal. So, I had to buy a room only for the first night at CSR. We arrive early in the morning around 10:00 AM. So, we should be checking in around 11:00 AM. We are really hoping that they will release our tickets a day early.

If they can't give us just the tickets early, we will spend the day relaxing at the pool, riding the monorails, and going to Downtown Disney. We could also buy one day tickets to a water park.

So, has anyone here been able to get their tickets early?
I figure we could even plan on viewing fireworks from the Poly beach or possibly go to the Chip and Dale Sing-along at Fort Wilderness.
