We just booked the CSR for 8/29-9/6. We have stayed at all the values, both Port Orleans, Animal kingdom Lodge and the Wilderness Lodge. I have been wanting to stay here for awhile but my wife and son have always been nervous about the possibility of having to walk "a mile to get to the food court or the main pool" in the very hot August sun. If we get the farthest room our from those two areas just how far would we be walking. I asked for any room in between those areas and the CM said she would put building 9 or 8 on the ressie how are those. Also are all rooms now equiped with queen size beds and have they all been renovated?

Thanks for the help.

Building 8 or 9 would be the Cabanas and they are close to the food court and the main pool. The Ranchos are the farthest from the food court and Casitas 1-3 are the farthest from the main pool. All rooms that are getting queen beds have them; there are still 100 rooms that will be getting king beds and that are not all done yet. The rehab has been completed in the Cabanas (all buildings), half of the Ranchos (2 or the 4 buildings) and part of Casitas. They are starting on Casitas 4 in two weeks.

Has anyone had success with online check-in? It wasn't available yeaterday or today.

why is your trip being cancelled?

Not cancelling yet, but may have to. Balance of trip is not due until August 6, but DH has received his third pay cut in as many years and with tuition, etc., we may have to give it up this year. We'll have to see what the spring/summer brings us as far as my husband's second job--umping baseball games and how many he gets in with the weather, etc. I'm not giving up yet...but it doesn't look too promising.

I'm not giving up on you yet either Kat:wizard:
Hopefully things will turn around:hug:
I booked this morning for Sept 30th to Oct 7th. I am really really hoping for a refurbed room but I will be happy to be at CSR regardless. my 5 yr old was making me show him pictures of the pool before bed:goodvibes

Since rehab is supposed to be done by October 09 I would think your chances are good that you'll get a rehabbed room. Be sure to check here for updates often.

I'm not giving up yet!

We were just here March 11th to 18th and loved it so much I booked the free dining for here Sept 23rd to 30th. Can't wait. We stayed in Cabanas 8A ,waterview, 2nd flr room 8246 right near the main pool. Great room with the kids but this time no kids or hubby just me and my parents and hope to get 9A or 8B this time. Loved the Cabanas.

Glad you loved the CSR! Do you have any pictures to post?

Ok, this is probably a strange question, but I have been reading a thread about the awful Nescafe coffee sold at most places in Disney. I am wondering (hoping actually) if the coffee at CSR is better since their restaurants are run by an outside vendor? Does anyone know what type of coffee is served at CSR? Thanks!

The coffee in the room is just bad as it is in every room at the resorts. However, DH said the coffee in the Pepper Market and Cafe Rix is pretty good. I don't drink coffee straight...I have to drink Cappucinos and I really like the Cappucinos at Pepper Market. Starbucks they are not, but they do me pretty good.

Thanks. Not sure if I should chance it or pick up some filters and "real" coffee when we do our grocery run. I am not overly picky, but that Nescafe is terrible!!

If you want to be in the Casitas, you could ask for the 4th floor of Casitas 1, 2 or 3--they've been rehabbed. Or Cabanas 8B has been rehabbed and a lot of people like that spot.

My mom would like to be close to the bus stop and would like to sit on the bus and not stand. So I am worried about the Cabanas. So if you had to choose another Casitas to be close to the bus stop, do you think Casitas 2 or 3 would be better? Thanks for your help.

Casitas 4 and 5 are closest to the bus stop. If you choose Casitas 2 or 3 you are in the middle of Bus Stop 2 (the first one to be picked up--which is near Casitas 4 and 5) or Bus Stop 4 which is the main building and the last one to be picked up before heading to the parks.

We don't use the buses so I can't tell you whether or not she'd have to stand if she got on at Bus Stop 4. I know that I've read where a lot of people have indicated they have never had to stand on the way to the parks from that stop...but then I don't know what time of day they are talking about.

Here is a question for Katmark....There was a super cute picture of a little girl on one of these threads. I remember that you told her the location and someone even mapquested it. I believe it was a spot between the Casitas and Ranchos where you can get a lot of the resort behind you, beautiful flowers. I believe the lady said that they take that same picture every year. Anyway I was wondering if you could tell me where that location was? Hopefully you know what I am talking about......;)

Hi, Crystal. I am pretty sure the spot is right near the quiet pool by Casitas 4. If you are walking from El Centro towards the Casitas, before you would take a slight curve off the path to go to the quiet pool, there is an area with benches by the lake and this is the spot where she took the picture. So when you get to the part where you would veer off the path that goes around the entire resort, instead of veering off, turn and look right at the Lake and you should see the spot. I hope I explained this well. If not, let me know and I'll try again.
