How are the rooms numbered? For example, if I were to get room number 1234, would that be in Casitas 1, 2nd floor room 34?

I'm curious because I really want a renovated room. I requested the Cabanas (so it should be 8 or 9 to start I'm assuming) but if I check in and I'm given a number that I know hasn't been renovated, then I'll be able to request a different room. I'm not really tied to the Cabanas, just that I know that entire section has been renovated! :)

Assuming all the rooms work the same way, we were in Casitas 3 last year on the 2nd floor. This was our room number: 3225 (Casitas 3, 2nd floor, Room 25)

Thank you so much! By the way, which areas have courtyards with fountains? Or do they all?

The courtyards and fountains are in the Casitas sections.

:yay:Hello!

I have searched this thread high and low, and I know it must have been asked, however I CAN NOT find it. So, I will toss it out there...

Is there a height restriction on the pool slide? Just curious...

THANX!

Hey Everyone,

I am just back from a wonderful 7 night stay at BEAUTIFUL CSR!!! We had a great trip and overall I am very pleased with the resort. We will be going back!

We arrived around 10am on Sunday. They was not a line at check in, we were in the lobby all of 10 mins tops! I had sent in a fax request and we were granted our request of a room in the Cabanas section. Of course our room was not ready but the CM did tell me that we were in 8A which was right in between the Dig pool and bus stop 4. She also told me that they would call on my cell when the room was ready. We decided to drive over to the bldg and check out the pool and location. We walked around a little and took some pictures (which I promise to post later). We also discovered baby armadillos, which were actually very cute...I guess because they were so small (about the size of grapefruits). Anyways we then boarded the bus for the parks.

Around 12:30 I received a call that our room was ready and we were in room 8211. We hurried back from Magic Kingdom to find that we were in a corner room with a view of the lake. What a pleasant surprise! The room was beautiful and very clean. We did have 1 small issue that was not anything to stress over...we called twice for extra hangers and they never brought them. Not sure why....but one time we did try to call the front desk and someone from the Wilderness Lodge answered so maybe there was something going on with their phones....not sure but not a big deal! Each day Mousekeeping did take care of the room....nothing special (we did tip nicely) one day my daughter colored her a picture and left it for her, but she did not take it (she may not have been able to read that it was for her).

The bus stop was only a 2-3 min walk from our room....very nice and we never waited more then 10 mins for a bus. We only had to stand 1 time and that was in the evening after EMH. So I am VERY pleased with the bus system at CSR....much better then the other resorts we have stayed at in the past!

The pool was awesome! My kiddos did not want to leave and wanted to swim all day everyday. I think they went down the slide a million times each. We did not get in the hot tub...it was so hot in the evenings while we were there that we got into the pool instead. We did try the pool bar one day for nachos and adult beverages...it was good.

We tried Pepper Market for lunch one day and we were pleased, me and hubby had fajitas and the kids had pasta and chicken nuggets. The food was good and the staff was friendly and helpful to us at least. The waiter offered us refills and was nice and talkative. While I was waiting for our food I did notice that one of the cooks got rude with a lady that was behind me, but not sure what happened with all of that.

While we were there was saw Glen hanging out in the lake right outside of El Centro. He was very cute. We also met 2 other DISer's which is always nice. We also saw babies bunnies outside of our room in the evenings....my kids were so excited that we were able to see 3 different CSR "pets" while we were there.

I think that is about it....if anyone has any questions please ask. I will post pictures later....I promise!;)

Hello All!
It has been a busy past few weeks for me! I have spent most of it being sick yet again and now we have some large conventions coming in.

Anywho, 7B should be back up in a few days. 7A is also now out for rehab.

Also as a request from us at the front desk, if you happen to get any pizza flyers under your door, please don't throw them away! Bring them up to us at the desk! Let us know when you found it, so we can work on stopping these people from sneaking into Coronado. We were able to catch one of them last week when a guest brought up a flier as soon as it was shoved under her door!
And please, please, please don't order from them! If you want pizza, please use Papa John's or Domino's.

Oh no I wish I would have read this before we left! We got one on Saturday night June 13th (i think). We did not order from them, but I thought it was odd that they were sliding them in the doors so late at night.

Welcome back, Crystal! I am so THRILLED that you enjoyed your stay at CSR and want to go back. And you and the kids go tto see Glen and other animals. :thumbsup2

The more I read, the more I want to try the Cabanas the next time we go for something different--and I want Cabanas 8A because everyone just drools over that one.

Please post pictures...I can't wait to see them.

Thank you again for sharing your review! :worship:

P.S. Did you get to enjoy one of the hammocks?????

Does anyone know if the doors at CSR are metal. I don't plan on "trashing" up the door with decorations, but would like to put a small mickey magnet on the door to make it easier for my mil to spot her room. Thanks

Not sure if anyone has answered your question or not but....yes the doors are metal. We have a large magnet that we stuck on the front of our door. Have fun!!!

We really did have a great trip! Thank you for all of the advise before we left...I really do appreciate it!

I did not get in a hammock but my kids did! I will have to post that picture...it was really cute. It was just so hot when we were there. We have never been in June and I really do not think we will go back in June....just too hot!! And that is pretty sad coming from a girl that lives in Georgia!:)

I'm starting to get really excited now folks! I make my ADR's on Sunday for my second trip to CSR and my 6th trip to WDW!!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I LOVE reading these reviews (almost as much as food porn...ALMOST). I'm getting so excited. I upgraded our Pop room to CSR. DH has always wanted to stay here and I thought what better way to celebrate him turning the BIG 40! Not to mention our DD is our very own mermaid.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous.

What a nice surprise for DH's big 40. I surprised my DH with a big 50 birthday trip to CSR (although we'd stayed there four times already at that point). Have a magical time planning and hope your DH has a great 40!

Thanks I hope it works out well. We go to WDW every year for our DD's b-day (10/4). We will be celebrating her b-day most of the time but seeing this is a BIG b-day for DH I thought I'd surprise him this time. I can't wait to see his face as he goes to line up in the Pop line @ DME and we stir him in CSR's direction. I'm trying to think of a better way to let the surprise out but it's hard w/ the signs and all @ DME. I could always rhire a car for the trip to the resort.:rolleyes1 I'll have to look into that.

Actually, I believe the Pop and CSR lines for DME are one and the same. I could be wrong, though... it's been over a year! But wouldn't that be great to keep the surprise just a bit longer?

In December when we stayed at Pop for a few days, the bus stopped at Pop and went on to CSR and AKL. :thumbsup2

Yep, we went in March and it stopped at Pop first, CBR second, CSR 3rd, and AKL last. So don't tell him!

We're wrapping up an Anniversary trip (Pop Century & AsMu) and we'll be at CSR July 3-11 with our kids along. We visited CSR yesterday and ate lunch at Pepper Market and checked out the resort a bit so we'd be more familiar with it when we return. I chatted with the CM at Concierge desk where I picked up a resort map, and she pointed out some features of the different sections (most of which I already knew about from reading here!). She also said that they're planning to try to keep the Latin American tour groups in Cabanas 8A in July which was great information for me and I though may also be helpful for others here!

We'll be driving ourselves about 90% of the time, so bus stop proximity isn't important to us. We also plan to never visit the restaurants, so we want to be close to parking and the main pool. Based on that, I'd requested Cabanas 8B (was told 9A was Concierge level and not available for request). I was in WDW last July at this same time offsite at a Windsor Hills home, but I know how the tour groups can be in the parks. I don't want to even be in the building next to them and where they'd be walking back to their room because I picture them doing their chanting as they return to their rooms!

We drove around the resort and I'm planning to change my request to Casitas 5 which looks like a reasonably short walk to the main pool. Does this seem like a good location request for us for parking & main pool as our primary concerns? We really don't care about the outside surroundings of the different sections at all because it's going to be too hot to enjoy any of the atmosphere. We also definitely want a renovated room...
