Yes, mine is numbers of people in polls, not White Anglo-Saxon Protestants.

Ahh, the eye roll, when the facts are against you: 60% of americans disagree with Grand Jury in the Eric Garner case...40% STRONGLY disagree...only 25% agree.

Didn't Jim McMahon get fined heavily as a Chicago Bear for wearing controversial things on his headband back in the 80's?
Okay NFL players and owners, you have your right to wear what you want on your uniforms. I have the right to now boycott your product. I am encouraging all my friends and acquaintances in joining me on the boycott of all things NFL.
Dante Stallworth killed a man while drinking and driving.
Ray Lewis's bodyguards killed someone in a club.
Michael Vick was involved in a dogfighting ring.
Lawrence Taylor hired an underage prostitute.
Adrian Peterson whipped his son bloody.
Ray Rice punched his fiancee unconscious.
Dez Bryant hit his mother.
Brett Favre sexually harassed a female journalist.
Ben Roethlesberger may have raped several women.
O. J. Simpson probably killed his wife.
Yet protesting the death of black men by the hands of police is the straw that broke your back.
OK.
Many of you are not seeing my side at all. The point is, I, like millions of others, take this wearing of the controversial comments to be offensive. It is their right to wear it, I am conceding that.
It is my right to show my displeasure by cutting my ties with the NFL until I feel it has dealt with the situation. They don't have to do anything, and I don't have to go back to going to or watching the games.
To the many of others that are also unhappy with these displays, I say, make your voices heard, and stop being in the silent majority. This is an action for change. Me by myself doing this is laughable, but I sincerely am starting a campaign to get people to wake up and STOP being silent.
Skipping to the end....
I watch football for football. I don't care to see any "statements" by any player. They are there to do a job. Not protest, support any cause, or speak their mind about social issues. I don't care what their thoughts are. I just want to see a game and not have to think about all of that other stuff.
Do you watch a lot of NFL warm ups?

... The fact remains he is dead. It is a death that could have been prevented....
Correct. It could have also been prevented if Eric Gardner did not resist the officers. They won't use a choke hold or any other type of hold if you don't give them a reason to.
They are not supposed to use a choke hold regardless of resisting arrest. Its against NYPD policy.

Doesn't matter. Don't give the police a reason to "get physical" with you and physical injury won't happen.
Or the police office could have followed the policy established in 1993 when Commissioner Raymond Kelly banned the use of that hold.
Yes it does matter. Its against policy for a reason. That reason is that the suspect/criminal can be injured or killed. Which is exactly what happened. The policy of the police department isn't just guidelines, they really are actual rules.
I would imagine that its also against policy for a police officer beat someone in the head with the butt of his gun. Would you be ok for him to do that because the person won't comply?
No, they are supposed to be Trained in alternative methods. They are supposed to be professional, not thugs. Right now they are no better then the gestapo. If you cannot make an arrest without killing someone find a new career. I rather keep the NFL and boycott the cops. Ok I'll chalk this up to we won't agree.I guess the police should have just said, "You don't want us to touch you? Ok, then go along your merry way and we'll leave you alone."
From what I can find, the official cause of death was:
Garner's death was found by the New York City Medical Examiner's Office to be a result of compression to the neck, compression to the body, and prone positioning, along with asthma, heart disease and obesity as contributing factors. There was no damage to the windpipe or neck bones.
If you eliminate the compression to the neck, death still could have been the result. I would suggest that if your health is compromised to begin with, maybe giving cause to be physically wrestled to the ground is a risk and maybe one you shouldn't take. I suppose Mr. Garner was willing to take that risk even if it ended in his death.
