Nobody answered this question and I am curious also - what is the earliest time that the DCL busses leave the airport for the cruise terminal?

TIA!

I think around the 9-930am range, but that's just from reading about it here on the DIS. I haven't used a DCL bus from the airport..

.

Here is the information I mentioned about carry-in alcohol. Just to clarify, I have no first hand experience with this information, as it was retrieved from DCL website: http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/faqs/prohibited-items/food-storage-containers/

Alcohol is permitted on board. However, be aware that any fragile items (including bottled alcohol) must be hand-carried on board in a day bag and/or carry-on bag, the dimensions of which cannot exceed 22" wide, 14" high and 9" deep. Guests who request a Wine Steward to open and serve a bottle of champagne, wine or liquor that has been brought onboard will be charged a corking fee of $15.00 per bottle.
=====================

additional information from the same URL:
Food coolers containing personal snack foods and drinks may not be brought onboard. They are only permitted if needed for medications, baby food or items related to special dietary needs.

Homemade, pre-cooked or other perishable items plus any open snack containers cannot be brought on board. Limitations on permitted food items are directly related to concerns for food safety and contamination prevention.

Disney Cruise Line regrets that the crew members on board are unable to provide food preparation, refrigeration or storage for personal food or beverage items. Disney Cruise Line cannot verify the cleanliness of the environment in which pre-cooked or homemade food items were prepared, and so for the safety of all Guests and crew, these items are not permitted aboard the ship.

Personal bottle warmers are not permitted on board due to safety concerns. However, a limited number of approved bottle warmers and bottle sterilizers are available upon request through Guest Services. In addition, Guests can request hot water to be delivered to their stateroom at any time from Room Service.

Thank you for all the great information! It looks like I will just have a high drink tab at the end of my trip.:headache:

Whoo Hooo!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1::banana::banana:

We are going to be joining you all on this cruise! I have been lurking here for months hoping we would get to go. My DH finally got the ok from work and we are booked and ready. We are: Shannon, DH Pete, DS Sam (6), and DMIL Diane.

Can't wait to see you all at the port!

Shannon

Welcome:banana:
I will be traveling with my 5 1/2 year old son as well.pirate:

can anyone tell me about the Room Tours.... Is there something special about the sideways rooms.. Just me Bekaah (Vicky) I usually just read and don't post, but appreciate all of you who do since this is our 1st Disney Cruise.

BTW I'm on overload.. DH just bought a new suit (finally) and we have our docs..... but just a room full of stuff and no packing done yet.... whew!

Bekaah,

Don't know if you caught it before, but you and DH are confirmed for Palo Brunch in Group 2 (4/16, 10:30AM). :thumbsup2

If you bring a case of water and have it labeled with your cabin number when you arrive at the port will the porters take it along with your luggage? I remember a while ago asking DCL that question and they said the porters would take it but reading one of the post it says you have to lug it around until your room is ready. Does anyone know the real deal?

Tried to send you a PM or e-mail ... but you do not have thoe features activated. My personal thoughts on the beverages is that they would take it ... however ... leaving a case of water or other liquid refreshments in the hallway may subject it to sticky fingers.

I've got the kids mostly packed. Just have to think through formal wear, dinner clothing, and shoes for them.

--Did you pack them inside luggage? :lmao:

I just got off the phone with Disney because I had the same question. Busses start at 10:00 am and the last one leaves at 2:00 pm. The buses do not have a set departure time. When the bus is full it leaves. They always have a bus waiting to leave to the ship, so as soon as one leaves the next bus starts loading. We are from the west cost and want to sleep in so they recommend to catch the bus at 1:00 pm and not wait until the last one at 2:00 pm.

FYI: The other question I asked them. My Disney package has us flying in the night before and staying at the airport hotel. We cannot check our luggage all the way to the ship. We have to keep or Disney tags, get the luggage at the airport and put the tags on before going to the bus. So the sort is we have to deal with luggage at the airport.

I didn't catch it, Thanks! It seems like a can never catch up on reading it all. Only so much time in the day..... :confused3:)

I'm impressed how organized some of you are, and you are already packed. I haven't even started thinking about packing. Of course I generally use packing as an excuse to expand my wardrobe, so usually hit the stores the week before the cruise. Dan will drop off the drycleaning the Monday before and then I fill the garment bag.

I wish the rain would go away, but at least it's not snowing.

Room Tours are a way to see the various stateroom categories. Though technically the same size as a regular layout, many people who have stayed in the sideways cabins feel they have more space.

I haven't stayed in one myself yet either but I have heard that they appear roomier with the bath on one side and beds on the other with sofa in-between. The room tour would be a chance to see one and I'm for it!

I like your idea of expanding the wardrobe I get new things, hang them in the closet and when asked if it's new I say "oh no, I've had it for awhile" DH calls it aging my clothes. :)

I'll just keep moving this every now and then:

CABIN TOURS

Cat 1 Walt/Roy Disney Suites
Cat 2 Suite 2 bedroom w/Verandah
Cat 3 Suite 1 bedroom w/Verandah
Cat 4 Family w/Verandah - Mrs. Gumdrop Deck 8
Cat 5 Verandah (Deck 7) - KrisannB
Cat 6 Verandah (Deck 6)
Cat 7 Navigator’s Verandah
Cat 8 Deluxe Oceanview - joius24 - deck 5
Cat 9 Deluxe Oceanview - Happy Goofy & sdlong329 - Deck 2
Cat 10 Deluxe Inside
Cat 11 Inside - stlkeeler & ilovedale3 - Deck 6
Cat 12 Inside
Cat any Sideways
Cat any Handicapped (I'd love to see one w/Verandah)

I deleted the list of upgrades from the website, and just realized it had info on who was willing to open their cabins for tours. And if we get enough volunteers, perhaps we can utilize 2 cabins per category to keep the traffic down. ?

Who's up for opening your cabin?

OK... Me and my son have our schedule...
April 7 shop for the extras for the trip... new jacket and slacks for my growing boy
April 8 pack and get a hair cut
April 9 get on the airplane
April 10 forget the rest of the world exists

...

MikeAndNick,
We are in the same situation. We have heard (but not personally checked on), that yes, we do pick up our luggage at the airport and bring it to our room, and in the morning, put your luggage in front of your door with the DCL luggage tags on them. And they will be picked up for you so that all you need to bring to the DCL bus is yourself and your day bag.
Maybe we will see you at the hotel.

Just went on line and ordered some new clothes. Most important was a lined nylon jacket. Figure it will help cut any chill from the wind and also help with any moisture falling from the sky! Also picked up a t-shirt type dress to throw on in the mornings for running upstairs and getting some coffee or tea. I've already worked out my route to Cove Cafe that will only involve about 25 seconds outside if the weather isn't cooperating. :lmao:

Time for lunch! past time.......come to think of it.......
