I can devote a few minutes of cruise time to the laundry .... after midnight .... over some oatmeal raisin cookies and coffee from room service.

Now THAT sounds like a plan.

We got an upgrade!!!

We are upgraded to a cat 9 and we have now the same stateroom B2B!!!

I'll make sure that i put the new # into the google spreadsheet.

Congrats on the upgrade! Is this your first or second upgrade? I can't remember if you got one before.
It looks like some people are getting a little last minute pixie dust.:wizard:

I'm also emailing a scan of the info pages of my passport to myself

This is what we do. Carrying around a copy can be dangerous too but w/ digital it's accessible but you don't have to keep track of it.

Today I made photocopies of credit cards, front and back. If one gets lost or stolen, I'll have the phone number and account number to report it.

Woody

I only take one with me which is my Disney Visa. The rest are left behind locked up. Actually I will take a different wallet with only that card, my driver's license and my insurance cards.

I have scanned copies of our passports that I keep separate in other carry on. :)

That was a good idea though to scan them and send them in an email. :surfweb: I will also include my DW, my DS and my DDIL to make sure.

Something else we couldn't do 100 years ago; the 20th century surely brought a big change to human existence.

And no one in my family was riding around on an oceanliner then, either (we came to America in the 1600s - pretty much all my ancestors; nobody married a Newbie American after that; so no Ellis Island for us).

...I love this idea. I've done the photocopy version (and needed it when my passport was stolen in Guatemala).

Not just for you, but for all travelers:

Having been the victim of theft in a foreign country, I feel I can speak from experience.

Does Annette carry a different card (not linked to your account #) in case yours is stolen?

In your case, you've potentially got Brack III as backup.

When a credit card is reported as stolen, all cards associated with that account are frozen.

Now that is smart as well. Maybe the same for the credit card info too. That way you would have access to all of it but wouldn't neccesarily have to carry paper copies that might go missing.

Just had to drop in to ask if any of you guys are posting fron the cruise.
I am so excited for you all. To think we swapped it for a west bound!!

Happy cruising and have fun, cant wait to hear all about it!!:tinker:

I set up a blog so I can keep in touch with my mom while on the cruise. I plan to put something on it daily. I've never done one before though so I hope I can keep it interesting to read :rotfl:

The address is www.heathersebta.blogspot.com

If Jackie commandeers all the washing machines, we'll know why!

Well it only makes sense to do as many loads at one time as possible! I'll pick an odd hour of the day (or night), so hopefully no one else will be around.

Thanks....added more task to my to do list! :upsidedow

.

Well I went shopping today - said I would not buy any new clothes for this trip but I have lost 25+ pounds and my clothes are too big on me :)

So I went to Lane Bryant (lost weight - but not that much) and was really excited to see that lime green is an "in" color this spring :) They had shirts, sweaters, pants, even bras and panties in lime green! I did get me a shirt in lime green and got a non-lime green dress that is so commfy.

So much for no new clothes for this trip - this is like my 4th new outfit!

Now I have to go unpack some other clothes to pack the new clothes!

Krisann

Congrats of the weight! I also haven't gotten anything new for the trip except a few items for the kids.

I saw a few posts ago that you home school. How can you do all that and do all that you do for the trip :worship:

I also photo copy my passport and keep one copy with someone not on the trip in case it needs to be faxed and I keep another copy in my packed luggage.

Just in case anyone is interested: for the next 7 days in Barcelona the forecast high is 57 - 62 and the forecast low is 47-53. In Gibraltar, forecast highs for next 7 days 61-65 and lows 52-55. All degrees F. So it looks like we need to pack for a few degrees higher (to take account that we are still 3 weeks out) than mid forties to mid sixties for our time on the ocean and in the European ports. CC is another story all together! I leave for our airport hotel 2 weeks from tomorrow. :woohoo:

Thanks for the update...I'm having a problem starting to pack since we are wearing the clothes that I would pack for the trip. :laundy:

Can someone tell me what is the suitable dress attire for the casual dinner nights? I know there has been much lively discussion around the formal/semi-formal dinners, but wasn't sure if pants (slacks) and collared shirts were required for the informal dinners. Are jeans or dress shorts acceptable? I assume more leeway is given to children.

About the onboard self-service laundry, does anyone know how much it costs to purchase the single-load (I assume) detergent on board? Am I better off (i.e. saving $) buying before hand and bringing with me?

Thanks so much!

Yes she does have a Disney Visa of her own plus a couple of others. I will ask her to bring the one linked to our bank account. Plus on this trip we do have our DS along with his even better financial backing  That's what kids are for isn't it? :lmao:
