Does anyone know/remember how much it costs to have DCL do my laundry for me???? :confused3 I would prefer NOT to spend MY precious vacation time in the laundry room :lmao: (must budget for that as well as the BBCs/Cafe Toledos)

I looked on the master website & haven't been able to find anything.....am going over to the main DCL thread to see if it's under the stickeys.

...well, your roommate will be doing some...perhaps she will toss in a load for you...in exchange for a BBC! :rotfl:

.

Good morning everyone! :surfweb:

:banana:Only 17 days 'til we sail!

I have a question about clothing - Do people wear a lot of Disney gear onboard? I have a fair amount of Disney t-shirts and was wondering if I should bring a few....:upsidedow

Yes I do :mickeyjum but I also have several Tommy Bahama shirts that I like to wear.

All I know is that it ain't cheap! :scared1:

I can devote a few minutes of cruise time to the laundry .... after midnight .... over some oatmeal raisin cookies and coffee from room service.

I received a letter from DCL, "Helpful Hints for Your Trans-Atlantic Voyage."
Anyone else get one?

One of the topics is foreign currency exchange. It says there is a currency exchange widow at the cruise terminal at Port of Barcelona. Currency exchange is also available on board at Guest Services.

Woody

I didn't get that but I did get one from Castaway Club thanking me for taking a cruise with Disney and hoped to see me on another cruise. Mind you, my last cruise was in SEPTEMBER. :rotfl:

STATEROOM TOURS

I think Ken disdel will be figuring out the best route to lead us through the varieties of stateroom categories.

The stateroom I am most interested in seeing is a Suite; the offer we have for viewing has the caveat that we do it when the kids aren't napping.

Here are my questions:

- Can we utilize the after-lunch game time for this activity?
- Is this a one-day event or are we trying to set up 2 different days?

We should probably count on 2 days. Game time would be best, otherwise I would suggest 11AM.

PHOTO-OPS

- Anyone ever set up a photo shoot with Shutters photographers?

- Princess Night for a group photo? (Sea Day #1, April 12, formal - as best we know) If they are having cocktails in the atrium at say, 5:15, we would meet at 5:00? (and let Shutters tell us the best place to meet)

- Group photo just before the Group Lunch? (on the last Sea Day - which I think will be in Parrot Cay)

Formal night pics would be great but as someone pointed out, it may be impossible to set up in the lobby when everyone is around. We can probably do the prelunch photo in the lobby with no problem. We may have to do just 1 group photo, though we can talk to the shutters people onboard.

PJ Breakfast
Are we doing this? Any interest? Sea Day after Madeira? 9:00 in Luminiere's?

Sure. It's a Book Exchange morning, but we can forgo book exchange one morning for a PJ breakfast. Or we can have a book exchange at the breakfast!

MESSAGE BOARD

The above activities and the Boarding Day room changes should pretty much cover any group-related info we have, right? Do we expect the need to check for messages on a daily/frequent basis? Books, knitting, games are times set up on a casual drop-in basis.

I doubt there will be daily changes, but I would go with 1 central board. We will also use word of mouth, I'm sure! :)

:cloud9: Above ALL else we must remember this is a vacation not a marathon! :beach:

LOL Our last cruise was in June and we just got that same letter. I was laughing when I was reading it.

I'm in "chest scar club". I had laparoscopic assisted open heart (too weak for bypass) so scar not as big but bled out and they had to t incision abdomen, 2heart attacks, pacer/defibrillator dependent since age 24. Now 40 and have added to my cardiac resume to include other new and wonderful procedures with very ugly pacer scar from multiple replacements and am very thankful to god for modern medicine, incredible doctors and plastic surgeons who were able to revise most of my scars :)

My dd18 is also a charter member, six months out and doing well, going off to the Disney College internship in May.

My Dad had one from about the sternum to a couple of inches below his belly button. In 1985, he was in an accident (15 mph) and hitting the steering wheel ruptured an aortic aneurism. He learned the hard way to wear a seat belt. :sad2: Fortuantely, he lived another 18 years but he was paralyzed and had contracted Hep. C from the blood transfusions. I still miss him. :sad1:

Go to this page and then scroll down to the bottom and click on the Laundry Info picture/link then scroll to the bottom for a price list. Note the fine print that only pressing clothes is half the cleaning rate.

If you are in the learn-to-knit group, Adrienne and I decided on THIS PATTERN for you to knit. So, go to your favorite craft store (Michael's, Jo-Ann, etc.) and pick up 2 skeins of bulky yarn (weight 5). I'm partial to Paton Tweeds (scroll to the bottom of the screen to see actual colors). You are under no obligation to pick up my favorite or the yarn specified in the pattern. Just make sure the weight is 5 (Bulky). Pick up size 11 needles, as well. Bring these to the ship with the pattern (print out the pattern, please).

Questions? Let me know! :thumbsup2

Dee---sorry, where is the pattern on the website. :confused3: Not sure how to do this.
Thanks. Sandra

BUNCO

Should hear back from DCL 1-2 weeks before we leave (could be any day now) about which day, time, and place is available for us. I requested an afternoon time.
Whoohoo that is anytime now, can't wait until you have some news.

I dont mind to take one day from the gametime for this.
I would say make it a 2 day event..... But if we do it in 1 day it's good for me.

We did a group photo once but i didn't arranged it so i don't know anything about that.
I would suggest to just pick a time and let evrybody know that time ahead and just somewhere on one of the sea days...

GROUP LUNCH / AWARDS / SECRET MICKEY REVEAL

DCL Functions should be advising us of how to set up arrangement for this (when we find out about BUNCO). We've selected last Sea Day (Thursday, April 22 at noon) as our choice.
Sounds perfect.

PJ Breakfast

Hahaha LOL i'm in for everything.

MONTJUIC FOUNTAIN (BARCELONA)

I've been dragging my feet on this because I wouldn't miss Disney Fireworks to see the fountains. So far, I've got nothing because I have a sneaking suspicion we will have Fireworks on Friday. How to know? :confused3
We are probably going to skipp this meet.

It's not that big of a ship at all so i'm going to check eveyday the message board just to make sure that there is no update...

Help please. Anyone who has sailed before and had DIS activities (TA, PC, special itinerary cruises - especially where you didn't know the daily schedule pre-cruise) - did you pick days & times before you left and then change them onboard or did you wait until after seeing the master Navigator on Day 1 and then notify everyone of the selected days & times?
Can't remember how we did it the first cruise we did...
The last cruise everything was arranged beforehand but because it was the Podcast Cruise we had some private partys.

We got an upgrade!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

We are upgraded to a cat 9 and we have now the same stateroom B2B!!!

I'll make sure that i put the new # into the google spreadsheet.

You'll see all sorts of shirts on board. Yes, there will be Disney. I'll have some Disney, some scrapbooking and some ???.
so wear what you like.

Does anyone know if we must use powdered or liquid detergent on the ship? I have read posts about the purex 3 in 1 but have decided not to take a chance on spotting.

Thank you
