Bounceback Free Dining Program 2008. Where is everyone eating??

I find that on top of the extra money for the DDP, you have to tip for the two extra meals a day. We have 2 adults and 2 kids that are considered adults on the DP. Our meals were on average $140 a pop. Having to tip on say...... $250 a day...... would be an additional 45 dollars a day. And not to mention how much food you would get and the amount my children would waste. If it was just me and DH I might consider it but not with the kids. The time it would take to eat three meals a day TS would be high also.

Goofygoobers- I can totally understand your feelings about tipping. I have yet to do the calculations, on how much it would cost with me, and my little muffin. I know, it will not break the bank, especially, if there is only two of us. I know, I want to eat in the castle with her, and I always wanted to try cali grill. I may just pay OOP for it. I will have to see.:thumbsup2

Hi Melissa! We booked again too for next September, we're going later this time though the 18-27th. The boys really want to stay at Pop again, so that is where we will be staying.

Must eat at:
Kona
LeCellier
Chef Mickey's
WCC
Coral Reef (I could skip it but the boys outvoted me)
Teppan Edo (since we missed it this year)

Can't wait!

Hi Rebecca! Great to hear from you. When, I was POP. Everyday, going to the bus. I was thinking I don't see anyone. I did meet Michelle, and Traci, and ExtremesoccerMom at the Splash meet on August 30th. But, I never got to meet anyone else.

It was so hot, almost unbearable. That is why I chose to go a bit later, in hopes that the heat will at least be a little more bearable. Anyhow, I cannot wait either!!
:)

CathrynRose, How was your trip? Mine was wonderful, but very HOT!!!!!!I was there just a little before you. Aug27-Sept 5th. I had such terrible depression once home. I am finally getting around to posting again. Anyway, glad you chimed in. Maybe, I should stay at POP again. I really wanted to try CSR, but if I stay at POP. I can stay longer. Seems like, a no-brainer to me. Yet, I am still wavering!!
:confused3

.

I stay at POP cuz I like it AND I can stay longer! :thumbsup2 They can stick me in a cardboard box if they want, if I could stay 100 days...kwim? ;)

And rest assured, had you gone later in the month, it would still have been JUST AS HOT!!! Man, its hot in September.

Goofygoobers- I can totally understand your feelings about tipping. I have yet to do the calculations, on how much it would cost with me, and my little muffin.

It's one table service meal a day you have to tip on (for the standard DDP) To me... I cant fathom anyone not doing it. It's not THAT much you're going to be tipping a day. Y'know?

CathrynRose- I have no problem with tipping. You are right. On the standard plan. It is not that much at all. I was looking into tipping on the Deluxe plan. Since I have done the calculations. I dont think the Deluxe plan makes sense for me, and my little princess. I looooooooove Disney food. But, I do not think doing the plan with my little girl adds up.

I just dont see how I could even use half the credits. Maybe, I am calculating it wrong??
Frannn, help me out. Please.
9 nights @POP for my daughter and I equal 54 credits on the Deluxe plan?

Which means to use all of those credits. I have to eat every day or night at a signature resteraunt. Plus, try and fit in a breakfast everyday. There is no room, for a change in plans. This totally eliminates the need for a cs. As I have two snacks per day. Unless, I save most of my snacks to bring home.

Even though. I could eat most people under the table. I don't think I would be in the mood for a big breakfast, or a signature everyday. I am sure this would be lovely if I was taking the hubby, however.
So frann, do I have it right??

We didn't sign up for the bounceback because we weren't planning on going back until 2009, but wonderful, amazing DH decided we should go again next year!!:love:  We'll hope for free dining, but even without it we'll be able to use the CAA discount. We've decided to do try the Deluxe Plan, which I am really looking forward to!!

So, here are some of the places at which we're planning to dine:

For the first time--
Pepper Market
California Grill
Yachtman's Steakhouse
Donald's Breakfastosaurus
Liberty Tree Tavern
Cinderella's Royal Table
Le Cellier
Narcoosee's
Maya Grill

And some old favourites--
Mama Melrose's
Coral Reef
Planet Hollywood
Earl of Sandwich

We're also planning on doing another lunch with an Imagineer. I'm so excited!!!!

Donald's Breakfastosaurus closes down this month sometime, or maybe next month....but it wont be there by the time you get back. But they will have a brand new character dining restaurant opening up in its place. I forget the name...anyone know what I'm talking about?:confused3

I believe it is moving to Tusker House when they reopen as a TS restaurant and will be called Donald's Safari Breakfast.

Hi! We cannot wait to come back! We are staying at Pop Century this time, for 12 nights/13 days. SSR was just to expensive, we loved it but we would have needed to cut our trip in half to afford it and who wants that?!

Our tentative plans for TS meals are (bold means we have not tried it before):

Crystal Garden
Character Dinner @ Liberty Tree Tavern
Tony’s Town Square
Coral Reef
Le Cellier

50’s Prime Time Café
Tusker House (I think that is the name of the AK place)
Boma
Ohana
Chef Mickey’s Fun Time Buffet

and we still have two more to plan! :)

Does anyone have suggestions for places we may want to try? Nothing fancy please, and the funner... the better!:woohoo: Or... does anyone look at my list and automatically think UGH? Thanks!

Since you suggested fun. Why not try Whispering Cafe. Even though, I have not been back to WC in 2 years. I still view that resteraunt as "fun"!:thumbsup2

We will! I peeked at the description and it sounds fun! :goodvibes Thank you for the suggestion! Kimberly

We're booked for 9/6-9/20 at POFQ, and while we're still not sure whether we can make that work with dd's school, we're planning away!

On our last trip, my favorites included Boma, which we'll do at least twice, and Crystal Palace. I'd also like to try Biergarten, which we had to cancel after overindulging on the F at the F&WF. (Given the tip/appetizer situation next year, I'm leaning towards more buffets/cheaper restaurants.)

I know my dd has been wanting a return visit to Sci-Fi so that's a must do (unless we manage to make it back to the World before next September; in which case, we'll do Sci-Fi then).

My dh's wishlist includes Cap'n Jack's, Rose and Crown, Boma, Le Cellier, Raglan Road, Crystal Palace, Whispering Canyon Cafe and Wolfgang Puck's (though we'll probably try the Express and use a CS credit instead).

I love the planning, too. My dh was kidding me that I was more excited about being able to book another free DDP trip than I was about actually, finally going on this last trip. And he was only half-kidding!:rolleyes1

Well, we are booked at CSR with the discounted deluxe dining plan. Though we may downgrade it, I'm not too sure on what we are actually going to do. Anyway, if we stick with what we have we are toing to:

Places we have been:
Leceller
50's Prime time
Coral Reef
Boma's
LLT
Ohana's
Kona Cafe
Hollywood and Vine

Places we haven't been:
CRT
1900 Park Fare
Nacrosse's
California Grill
Crystal Palace
Tusker House
Beaches and Cream
Yachetmans Steakhouse
HDDR?
Poly Laua?
Teppan Edos

I still would have a few credits left over but that is what we have been looking ino so far. Usaually my boys help me out with the restaurant picks but this time they don't even know that we were able to book the bounce back. Let's see how long I can hold out, because I love having them help me out with the planning of things.

I think I asked this on some other thread, but never saw a response....but what exactly is the term "bounceback" referring to?

I think I asked this on some other thread, but never saw a response....but what exactly is the term "bounceback" referring to?

It's a generic term that means offering a current guest or customer a special incentive to return to that business, or bounce back.

In Disney terms, the "bounceback free DDP" means that guests staying at a WDW resort during a certain period (this year I think it was 9/30-10/12, or something close to that) were able to book a WDW vacation for next year (mostly September) that includes the DDP at no charge. The only way to be eligible for the offer is to have already vacationed at Disney, hence the term bounceback.

Of course, they may still have a free DDP offer for the general public, most likely next April, and/or another bounceback offer for guests at WDW during Nov/Dec, like they did last year, but that remains to be seen. HTH!

What are the dates for this and how do you find out about it.
I am planning a trip end of Jan 2008 and looking for deals and discounts!
I am taking my husband and son their for the first time...:)

We were there for the 2007 "September free dining" package (it ran from the very end of August through most of September). While there, WDW resort guests under that package had the chance to "bounce back", meaning that they could choose a time to come back in September 2008 and again receive free dining if you booked it while you were still at your WDW resort and put at least $200.00 down. In this instance it simply gave you (your entire group) the free DDP for the number of days you were staying. I hope that helps! :goodvibes

hi, they are offering free ddp in UK, we have booked PORS 8-11 for 14 nights.
thinking of
boma

cp (again)

You are welcome Kimberly!!

Oh, so I changed my ressies. I am now officially bouncing back, @ POP! I love the resort, and since my daughter. Is coming along. I figured it would suit us better. 9/16-9/25. I would love to stay longer. But, we are taking a 4 night vacation to Hershey PA, August of 2008. I do not want to use all of my hubbies vacation time. Not to mention mine, at my job.

Speaking of jobs...
People at my job, are so jealous. They always ask me where are you going? You are going away again? They do not understand. I work to fund my children's future education. And my travels. They always looked so perplexed, and confused. Arent we supposed to enjoy life? Oh well. Disney here I come again!

Now, I have a dream. To go back to Disneyland. I know I am pushing it. But, can't a lady dream!:lmao: :confused3 :lmao:

Hi, and welcome to the thread!!
I loved Boma, it was soooo good in August. I actually tried alot of things. I had not tried the previous year. That beef with the different sauces, and the ribs. OMG, yummy!! I had never tried it. I will have to go back to Boma'. Maybe twice. I will see how I can work that out!

I have been thinking maybe I can skip CRT, this year. So, my daughter, can go when we all go as a family... Maybe another Boma, can fit in that spot!

I am getting pretty excited. Even though it is a long way out. I am starting to think how I can decorate my window this time around. Last time, I took my 2 boys. So, I had a pirates theme with mini lights. So many people would stop, and look at the window. This time, since it will be my daughter and I. I will do a princess theme. Note to self. *Pick up some extra mini lights. For our Disney trip*
:yay: :yay:
