Bought at BLT

Congrats and Welcome Home!!!

I too, took the tour back in 2005, just looking for something to do to kill an hour or 2 before going to the parks. Yep, I got caught up in the emotion of going to Disney every year and bought 150 points on the spot. It didn't hurt their sales pitch any that we were staying in a Value Resort at the time and I was in awe of the 'luxury' of the deluxe resorts:happytv:. I have been fighting add-on-itis ever since our first trip "home". I haven't looked back, except to say "I wish I'd done this sooner:rotfl:" Well, add-on-itis got the better of me when my home resort of SSR ran a special of $90 a point which was less than what I had paid in 2005:eek:. That was my 'sign' that I was supposed to add on and I grabbed another 100 points. I now go at least twice a year and enjoy every minute of it:woohoo:

Yes, the current incentive was we were to get 2010 AND 2011 points. So, we are starting out with 440 points.

Unless you are borrowing your Oct 2011 points, you don't have them until Oct 1, 2011 (you can borrow them to make a reservation in your Oct 2010 UY or use them to make a reservation in your 2011UY while you are still in your 2010 UY). Your Oct 2010 UY started on 10/1/2010. Your 2011 UY starts on 10/1/2011.

That's why I said you must be getting 2009 points. But maybe not.

If you only got 2010 and 2011 points, you didn't get anything you weren't already entitled to get.

Agree ! Your cash back incentive only brings your price per point down to 115/pt not including closing. I would cancel at this point, watch for new incentives and monitor the resale market. You can always rent from an owner until your sure of the resort you'd prefer. The last BLT incentive at Door Way to Dreams ( I think) had prices in the 90's for 200 pts.

It sounds like you don't have an immediate need for the points, you are able to pay cash and now you know about the resale market. I'd recommend cancelling the contract and taking a look at resale. If you don't find anything then you can call your guide back later and do the purchase later since the price you paid didn't have any extraordinary incentive. I believe you could save yourself several thousand dollars and still purchase BLT or save even more with a purchase at another resort.
