Bottled water from Staples

Maybe I am insane but does anyone else do this. I pack a case of water in an extra suitcase. That way the suitcase will be empty by the end of the week for all the stuff we buy in the parks and we dont have to pay for water. I have done this our last two trips with no problems.

We stayed at Pop a month ago, and I did the Staples water thing.... worked out great. I ordered on the Wednesday before the Monday we arrived. When I checked in, I just told the CM that I should have an order from Staples-- she checked the computer, and said, yes, it's here.

She asked if I would like it delivered to the room. If I remember right, it was delivered an hour, or so, later-- but NOT by Magical Express... I think they delivered luggage a bit later, but I know it was a separate delivery.

I put my resort reservation number on the order form (online.) I think I just typed it in after my last name on the same blank-- there was no separate blank to type the res. number, but it came out fine.... on the printed invoice on the outside of the cases of water it just looked like: "Firstname Lastname Res. # XXXXXXXXX."

I did not call ahead to check anything with Pop. Just took my chances!!!

I did use the $5 coupon code that was sent to me when I signed up for Staples Rewards. It expired fairly quickly (at the end of June-- I signed up in June) so, assuming this is something Staples always does, I wouldn't sign up until closer to my trip, if I were you.

My total for 2 cases of Nestle water (48 bottles) was $14.xx. I've read that you can call Staples, and have them take off the shipping charges, but I never did. I was pretty thrilled at the price of less than 30 cents/ bottle, and was overwhelmed by everything else I had going on at that time, so I never even thought about it.

FYI, if you want your Staples reward account "linked" to online ordering, I was told you have to call customer service after the 1st time you place an on-line order.

All future orders will have $0 shipping charges, w/o a minimum purchase. I'm finding it handy for ink, paper, etc. - beats running out to the store when I'm running low.

I watned to sit and get our water ordered so it would for sure be there waiting on us. I have gone to Staples and searched for bottled water and just water. Nothing!! I have even gone through and gone to breakroom supplies and then clicked on beverages..No bottled water!! :confused3

Anyone have any ideas for me?

I wanted to share what I ended up having to do in case anyone else has the same problem. Apparently, there is no water available where I live and I since I am a regular customer of Staples.com, they know where I live. :guilty:

In order to get this. I had to delete all history, cookies, etc. Close Internet Explorer. (I even restarted the computer to be sure.) Then I went back in like a new customer. I even created a new account at order time (but used my same old rewards number when creating it). I did not put in my real address until after the shipping address was in for Orlando and it asked for the billing address. Everything worked after that.

Hope this helps if anyone else has this problem so that you don't have to go somewhere else and pay shipping.

Pretty much the same experience for us. I ordered mine the same way (but did end up calling to get the shipping charge taken off...no problems! We also ordered 2 cases, one for us, and one for a family we were travelling with.) When we checked in, the water was waiting for us...not sure why...but we had to take it to our room (?? Not sure why they wouldn't deliver it...but it wasn't a huge deal to us.) Water is almost $3.00/bottle in the parks...we saved BIG time!!

We also had to transport our water to our room at Pop! We sent two cases and it only cost me just over 11 dollars. I consider it one of the best cost savings moves that I did!

I'm surprised that luggage services could not deliver the water for you. If my room is far from Classic Hall, I know I'd have a very hard time carrying a full case of water to our room--it's heavy! I'd gladly tip luggage services to bring it to my room.

Thank you for the information.

when do i receive the $5.00 coupon?? is it by mail or e-mail?

Also if i order water to be delivered to my hotel do i need to call to get the free shipping??

you are not "insane" but there is a better option. dont carry that water around. just get a water filter bottle and fill it wherever you are.

I tried this last year after my case of bottled water ran out but even with the filtered bottles It still tasted musty. I am from the inland North West were the tap water tastes as good as bottled. I guess I am just spoiled. I am using magical express so once I get my case of water in the suitcase to the airport I dont have to handle it again. Plus we use the extra suitcase to pack home all the goodies we buy.

yes, i guess you just have good water there. most of the water is bad all over the south, so we are used to having to get filters.

from what I see, purewater2go seems to be the best. not to mention they are the only people carrying the products!!

I totally agree. I love being able to call and talk to a reall person, not a computer, and not somebody from India that I have to repeat everything to.

This may be crazy BUT

Can I use those new individual drink mixes (like crystal light) in the filtered bottles? If the water gets filtered as you drink I guess that means it won't work with the mixes??

I havent tried this, but I heard that it does work, and you get the flavor through the filter. However, they said that the flavor never goes away. So if you put cherry in, you are stuck with cherry forever.

You can prolly get some extra filters and change the filters out, i bet that works.

Oh. I can hear my child complaining already.
Think I am going to just order the cases of water thru Staples and hopefully they'll be at the resort when we arrive.
Thanks for your input!

yes, I agree, if you are rich and dont care about the environment, then bottled water is the way to go. However, my family is on a budget and cant buy bottled water all the time. And I dont like the warnings the goverment is giving about plastic bottles taking over landfills.

Just look at the following picture!! it says it all

By chance...do you work or sell for ******* or do you just get a cut of the profits for pushing it?

Sorry but slamming people for buying bottled water is just a little rude. I fully admit that I buy bottled water. I'm buying it from Staples to my WDW trip.
BUT... I also recycle my bottles. Does that get me brownie points with you?
All I'm saying is you have your way of drinking water and other people have theirs and you don't need to be rude to them about it.

Nope, but I wish. If it was possible to get a cut of the profits, that would be nice. You can work that out for me since you offered.

I dont slam people for buying bottled water any more than I slam people for littering. It's all about becoming part of the solution instead of the problem. I would like something to be left for my kids and their kids.

Yes, recycling is good I guess. Except since I happen to voluteer at a recyling organization, I happen to know that it actually takes more money and more energy to recyle a bottle than it does to make a new one. So recyling is not going to help because companies are not going to look to it as a solution. The only solution I see is to not produce as many. Did you actually read the articles?

Will you be carrying your bottles back from the WDW trip to recycle them? I thought not........

To put it in your words: All I'm saying is I have my way of helping children and the environment, and you have your way to destroy it. You don't have to be rude about it.

More than anything, I would love to have something left for your georgeous "little miracle princess" when she grows up other than a sea of bottles.

Bev

ps, do you work for Staples or do you get a cut of the profits? Does it make any more sense when you are on that side of the coin? Why blast me for touting one company as you tout another? Seriously, let's put together sentences that have some meaning.

Folks,

Sorry about the spam pushing a product on this thread.

The only thing worse than a spammer is one who registers multiple accounts to have infomercial-style conversations with himself.
