Botox - can you tell if someone has had it?

Do you think you can tell if someone has had Botox? Any experiences with Botox anyone wishes to share? Thoughts on Botox?

1) Not if you have it done by someone who knows what they are doing.

2) :rolleyes1

3) If it helps you feel better or look better - why not?

My daughter can spot them every time. She works for a doctor who does reconstructive surgery.

I'm thinking of getting it. Anyone know how long to expect it to last? I want to get rid of my angry 11's that have just appeared in the last year!

DS17 has a friend that gets botox in his legs to help relieve muscle spasms. He has mild Cerebral Palsy and his legs stiffen up.

Yeah they have been giving Botox to people for a variety of reasons for a long time, that is why I feel that it is safe.

I work with special needs and this is the only use I have seen it in but it works great for them!! The average span is approx 6 mths for this use, but I don't know the span for cosmetic use.

I had an appt last week for a consult for Botox for the line that has gotten deeper between my brows. I cancelled/chickened out. I will most likely re-schedule. What is the average cost for a line between the forhead. I dont want it all over, just that one frown line.

If their forehead doesn't move, they have had botox.

Again, see my #1 - not if you have it done by someone who is experienced and knows what they are doing.

Keeping asking around and finding the right person. It can be either derm or plastics doing it, although I know a FP doing it as well. It is wonderful for getting rid of the "11's" between the eyes and can make you look much more youthful. Everyone is different in terms of units used to get rid of lines and wrinkles. Some of my friends can 10 units, and some get 50. Price per unit can vary too. I think what's current for us right now is for Botox around $17/unit. There is a new product on the market that is competing with Botox. I don't like it as much and it doesn't compare unit to unit to Botox. i.e. if you usually get 10 units of Botox, you would not get 10 of this new one to get the same results. (sorry can't recall the name).

I've had it and loved it! I have one of those vertical lines between my eyebrows.Gets rid of it and feel I look much better. It feels crunchy when you get it,and there are small punture marks where the needle was.Just don't plan on going out on the town right after the injection. You try to squint and can't!

Are the injections painful? I know a tiny pinch from the needle....and I am assuming the needle will be tiny...but what about the botox....some serums are painful when injected.

I had someone ask me if I had it done once because I didn't have any wrinkles where many middle -aged people would have on their face. I've never had any botox or plastic surgery---guess I'm just lucky. But, I would say that you can't always tell.
