Born Again Christians Thread-No Bashing please

We don't have it because in our area,
and I believe "everywhere",
you have to subscribe to the Dish Network,
and only the Dish Network (I think it's Dish, it might be the other one).
So even though there are great Christian programs on
we would be paying through the nose to receive them!

I think it is similar in our area as luvthatduke stated, it is available but only through DISH - we have Directv.

I think I would really enjoy it as they have some Christian music video stations but we would have to have a new dish installed etc.

:wave2:

is there a thread for regular old Christians? I'm Episcopalian.

Welcome, scubamouse!

Don’t worry, you don’t have to be a certain denomination or anything like that to hang out here. This thread is just a place for Christians to hang out and fellowship with each other, share our thoughts and concerns, ask for prayer, just talk about what is going on in our lives, etc.

Anyone is welcome to participate as long as they are respectful and kind. We’ve even had some non-Christians discuss things with us here as well.

Welcome! :)

WELCOME!

We don't have SkyAngel....but we do get 5 or 6 regular Christian stations over the regular cable. I enjoy the Christian music videos on Saturday and Sunday mornings. :goodvibes

Good evening to all! I'm thrilled to find a thread like this on the disboards--sometimes I can get a bit obsessed over planning where to stay at WDW for our next trip or whatever, and it's really nice to have this thread to bring me back to "reality!"

A question--is there any place at WDW where my family and I could worship on Sunday morning? We're headed there in January, and this time I don't think we're going to rent a car. Any ideas?

Thanks to all!

Welcome, Machta!
I don't personally know of where to worship,
but I'm sure someone can give you the info
or at least a Dis board or other Disney link.

Welcome Machta!

The only thing I could find about on site worship services was this article from 2002. http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/12/afa/202002a.asp

Don't know if they have changed policy since then or not. If you can't find something that you can get to, you could just do a family devotional time or something. We have done that when we weren't able to get to a worship service while on vacation.

 Hi everyone else! Hope you all are doing well! Adrian Rogers had an excellent message this morning on the radio about the historical accuracy of the Bible as well as the scientific authenticity. You can listen to the broadcast here:

The title of the message is "How you can know the Bible is the word of God"

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi folks!

Its been a long time since I last posted here, but I thought you might enjoy this poem that was read in our service today. It speaks so clearly about the value of listening and waiting for God in prayer.

Wait
Author Unknown

Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried
Quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And the Master so gently said,
"Child, you must wait."
"Wait? You say, wait!" my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers, I need to know why!
Is Your hand shortened?
Or have You not heard?
By Faith, I have asked, and am claiming Your Word.
My future and all to which I can relate
Hangs in the balance, and
YOU tell me to WAIT?
I'm needing a 'yes',
A go-ahead sign,
Or even a 'no' to which I can resign.
And Lord, I've been asking, and this is my cry:
"I'm weary of asking! I need a reply!"
Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate. As my Master replied once again,
"You must wait."
So, I slumped in my chair,
Defeated and taut and grumbled to God,
"So, I'm waiting... for what?"
He seemed, then, to kneel,
And His eyes wept with mine,
And He tenderly said,
"I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens,
And darken the sun.
I could raise the dead, And
Cause mountains to run.
All you seek, I could give, and pleased you would be.
You would have what you want -
But you would never know Me.
You would not know the depth of My love for a Saint;
You'd not know the power that I give to the Faint;
You'd not learn to see through the clouds of Despair;
You'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm There;
You'd not know the joy of resting in Me
When darkness and silence were all you could See.
You'd never experience that fullness of Love
As the peace of My Spirit descends like a Dove;
You'd know that I give and I save... for a Start
But You'd not know the depth of the beat of My Heart.
The glow of My comfort late into the Night,
The faith that I give when you walk without Sight,
The depth that's beyond getting just what you Asked
Of an infinite God, who makes what you have LAST.
You'd never know should your pain quickly Flee,
What it means that 'My Grace is sufficient for Thee.'
Yes, your dreams for your loved one overnight would come True,
But, Oh the loss! If I lost what I'm doing in You!
So, be silent, My Child, and in time you will See
The greatest of gifts is to get to know Me.
And though oft' may My answers seem terribly Late,
My most precious answer of all is still, 'Wait'."

Thanks for the poem! I so often ask God for something and then want the answers instantly! Afterwards, when the prayer has been answered, I see how God's timing is absolutely perfect and how the wait was necessary in order to learn from the situation. ::yes::

Hi WDWHound!
I've been thinking about you for the past week,
wondering if we would hear from you sometime.
The poem is great, I'm going to pass it along...
Blessings!

Anyone here do AWANAs? I am the Sparks leader and need some ideas for little projects to do each week during class to keep them busy, while the others are saying verses. Any ideas, or even websites you might know of? Thanks!

Don, thank you so much for sharing that poem. It really met me right where I am today. Thank you for posting it—it was a blessing.

90 Minutes In Heaven?

I did a search but couldn't find anything on this. Anyone ever read this book? It's very powerful. Supposedly a true story.

Minister Don Piper of Houston is killed in a bad car wreck involving a semi. He is pronounced dead by two emergency personnel. Ninety minutes later, he is found to be alive by a passerby who had crawled in his car to check on the man. During the 90 minutes he is dead, he experiences heaven. Sees family members, the streets of gold, etc. Does not see God, but knows He's there.

Multiple severe injuries; still lives in pain 16 years later, but he can walk. The book details his ordeal. His biggest question was, why did God take him from heaven & return him to earth? After many years he became convinced it was to comfort those who lost loved ones & those who suffered similiar injuries.

WOW! I had to search all the way to page 13 to find this thread!
Where is everyone?? :)

Hope everyone is doing well.

I am reading the newest Karen Kingsbury book, FAME. It is good so far! The next one in the series is out right away too.

Wondering if any of you BACs are going to be in Disneyland the first week of December? We are, and are getting very excited!!!

Hope this thread doesn't die, I enjoy all your posts!

I'm still around, but trying to not "be around" on the computer quite as much...I enjoy it too much and can get lost in here for hours...and my house shows it
Sometimes I wonder if I have adult ADD...because getting things done is sometimes such a "struggle". I'll start to do something (around the house, or even on the computer) and an hour later, I've gone through 6 different things and still haven't accomplished anything. :confused3 Organization is definitely not one of my gifts :sad2:
Anyone have tips on how to stay focused on the tasks at hand?
