Boozin’ It Up 12/5-12/7 coming ASAP

I like the ZAM, POW, KABOOM(!) girls. My favs are the stilts chefs though. They just boggle the mind.

I was looking at all the stilted characters in the parade and that is something else. How do they balance themselves?

I think that they have a much more stable and flatter bottom on those stilts. I have a friend who was on stilts in the Celebrate Street Parade, and they were much more secure looking.

Oh okay that makes sense to me. Still is an amazing ability as far as I am concerned.

Okay, so we did go on another trip in September 2009. I found my itinerary and I have the pictures so I can tell you what we did, but I dunno if I'll remember on the little tidbits of this one. You might just get to see pictures. Let's do this!

September 2009

So for this trip, I booked a room for us at the Anaheim Plaza. It was significantly cheaper than other hotels(I think about $69?). Looking at the map, it looked like the hotel was soooo much farther away. Not true. Incredibly easy walk. We arrived on the evening of Saturday September 19. Check-in was easy and then there was PLENTY of parking very close to our room. The hotel was nice. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. Didn't get to try out the olympic size pool but that's a neat feature, eh? I would stay there again if my favorites were too expensive or sold out.

Day One Sunday September 20

The park opened at 9am, so I wanted us to leave the hotel at 8:15 so that we could get in line by 8:30. Dear old dad was lollygagging in the morning and taking his sweeet time. I got a little anxious, because I like being on time(even if it's my own madeup idea of on time). We made it out of the hotel 10 minutes late, but not to worry because the walk was SUPER fast.

Here's what it looks when walking from our hotel room and across the parking lot(we were in the building closest to Disney Way so it will be a longer walk if you are in a far hotel building):
SepDis002.jpg

Then you get to the crosswalk, and we decided to cross over Harbor right here:
SepDis003.jpg

Hey you two, you know I don't like being late, right??
SepDis004.jpg

I don't think we really even stopped when crossing over that next crosswalk, because it was blocked off to traffic. We just walked down Harbor and turned left to get into Disneyland. QUICK I tell ya! It was also a beautiful day. Warm with a littttle breeze. We didn't take jackets.

In line we got pretty cute:

SepDis006.jpg

We went straight to the rope when we got in.
SepDis007.jpg

And it filled up behind us pretty quickly.
SepDis009.jpg

Rope dropped and we headed to Peter Pan of course. Three adults fit in the boats which is helpful. It was lame deciding who had to sit all by their lonesome on certain rides.

After that was the usual jaunt to Dumbo. I think we waited probably two rotations before we got to go on. We were the first in our group of riders.

My parents sat together for this round, while I had an elephant to myself. I guess that they are cute...

But I was up there too with this view!

SepDis025.jpg

From Dumbo we went to Mr. Toad's. My dad started to use his ipod to time our waits, and I wrote them down later. Our wait time for Toady was 5.33 minutes.
SepDis027.jpg

SepDis028.jpg

My dad road by himself for this one, and mama and I had our car.

Once again, it's enjoyable.:goodvibes I love your pictures.

Day One Continued

After Toad we went to ride Snow White but it was broken down :sad2: So we went to Mad Tea Party instead! :woohoo: Dad gets a little sicky on this ride, so he chickened out and stood on the side.

(Imitating my dad)

We road Small World after a 1.03 minute wait time(yep!)

Then on our walk to Critter Country, my dad and I stopped off to get FPs for Thunder Mountain. Well, I ended up having to use my mom's ticket to get a FP because apparently my AP wasn't scanned when we entered??!

Fast Passes in hand, we wandered over to Pooh. That wait was 6.18(I know, long wait for Pooh).

SepDis036.jpg

After Pooh we road Pirates(wait time of 7.33 minutes) and Jungle Cruise(6.19 minutes). Then we dropped my mom off at a bench, and my dad and I got in the single rider line for Indiana Jones. We just could not convince my mom to go on any scary/fast rides. Our wait time for Indy was all of 5.47 minutes. We barely stopped on our way to the ride vehicles. The loading CM also put us in the same car :woohoo: Mom had been prepared to wait a while, so we was very surprised to see us back only 10 minutes later.

We had a PS at Carnation Cafe at 1230, and I think it was earlier than that, but we were ravenous to we went to check in anyway. We were seated pretty much right away too.

Our meal started with soup of course:

SepDis037.jpg

Mom got the steak sandwich
SepDis038.jpg

Dad got the cheese and veggie sandwich
SepDis039.jpg

And I had seen this amazing Meatloaf Stack thing on the Dis right before the trip, so I knew I had to try it
SepDis040.jpg

As delicious as it looks.

When we were done stuffing our bellies, it was time to make our way to DCA. Not before my mom and I got our picture with Minnie and Pluto
SepDis043.jpg

My dad has this problem where he doesn't let you know when he took a picture, and he'll continue holding the camera up. So we kept thinking that he was having troubles getting a good picture. We finally had to ask if he was done. I think Minnie was ticked off.

Inside DCA, we all got FPs for Soarin' and then made our way down the Hollywood Backlot to see Aladdin. The Orchestra line(mass) was still loading up, so we waited off to the side until the mezzanine queue was available to stand in. This meant that we had first picks of the mezz seats. After climbing all those stairs that is.

Our view of the stage,

Right as we were exiting the theatre, there was Goofy showing up!
SepDis062.jpg

SepDis064.jpg

He made lots of kissy noises:lovestruc

Monsters Inc was next and then Animation Academy. We drew Grumpy!

Bugsland was next. We rode Heimlich, Frances, and Fliks Flyers.

Followed by Soarin' with our Fast Passes. We got the third row on the end every time this trip. It was still beautiful though.

I'm not 100% sure what we did after that. We went back to Disneyland and road the train all the way around the park and then back to New Orleans Square. I wrote that we went on Winnie The Pooh, Pirates, Alice in Wonderland, and then back on Mad Tea Party where we got my dad to get on!
SepDis082.jpg

Uh oh, puke face is back:
SepDis083.jpg

It was about 7:30 now and we went to get Buzz FPs and then dinner. We got some Bengal BBQ(dad doesnt eat meat) and corn(y)dogs for my mom and me. Dad had the veggie skewers(they were very tasty and well cooked). Mom and I each got a bacon wrapped asparagus skewer too(soooo tasty). We grabbed a bench and decided to rest and wait for the fireworks. The firworks were beautiful and I think my dad was happy to finally see them accompanied by music. They both loved Tink and Dumbo flying across the sky.

We let the crowd clear and then off to Buzz. There was zero line so we road it stand-by, and then when we were done and there was a bit of a line, we road again with our FPs.

We rounded the night out with Dumbo and Peter Pan. We got on Peter Pan when the park was about to close. My mom and I really wanted Churros, so my dad was nice enough to get some while we were riding. He was walking back right as we were exiting. He went to get 3 churros and came with 5 because the cart guy wanted to give away the 2 extras and close after my dad. SCORE!:cool1:

I'll post day two soon. LOST is on!!!!

Yay for more!!

And how awesome is the SR for Indy? I swear, it's the stinkin' walk that takes up the entire waiting time there. It's almost never ending. But I love getting to use the elevator. So, so fast. It freaked me out the first time becuse I never realized it opened up on both ends. I almost fell out.

That stacked meat loaf looks so stinking good. I mean wow.

I've found that the ride loaders for Indy are also REALLY good about quickly grabbing from the single rider line. And like the guy who was there when we road who even asked how many people were in our group. We in no way were expecting to sit together and had already resolved ourselves to that. It was such a pleasant surprise!

It is amazing looking and equally delicious. It was a lot of food for lunch though I think. More a dinner item for me next time.

I was thinking it looked rather large. More of a late lunch no dinner for me.

Yeah, if you are planning on taking a nap during the day then eat the meatloaf right before! :rotfl: I don't think that you can be super active right after swallowing that beauty.

I'm glad you came back! Love the report!

Thank you! I'm glad you made this go to another page. That last one was getting preeetty long and I wanted to wait before posting another day.

Day Two Monday September 21, 2009

This day was my mom's birthday!!:yay: Mom and I got to wear our Mickey T-shirts again.

The park opened at 9am again but we left a little bit earlier because we needed to go to Guest Relations to get my mom her Birthday Fun Card!!

And look what we found when we got to the park
SepDis104.jpg

Halloween decorations were starting to go up!

We told my dad to get in a line, and we headed over to Guest Relations. It was very easy to process for my mom's Fun Card. They wanted to see her ID and the parkhopper that she already had.

SepDis105.jpg

So it turns out that my dad DIDN'T hear us tell him to get in line, so he had just been wandering around  So we grabbed him and hurried up to wait.

The lines didn't get very long anyway and they opened the gates at 8:30am. Right when we got in we saw MICKEY! So mom and I hurried over to see him.

I don't know why but I think this is funny. I probably have this face on :lovestruc :hyper:
SepDis106.jpg

SepDis107.jpg

Mickey is so little, I just wanna SQUEEZE him. People were just wandering around Main Street at that point. Not really a big crowd forming at the rope, so we wandered a little too. Headed into some shops.

SepDis109.jpg

We made sure to get down to the rope drop before 9am though. We wanted to hurry off and ride our Peter Pan and Dumbo right away. We hopped on the Carrousel after that.

I got Jingles!
SepDis117.jpg

SepDis119.jpg

We then went and road Snow White, Mad Tea Party, and Small World before deciding to make our way to DCA for their opening at 10am. Like always, we snagged a FP for Soarin' and then briskly walked over to Toy Story Midway Mania. It was sooooo empty!

SepDis121.jpg

I promise, we waited 5 minutes! And that's about as long as it took us to get through the line. My parents road together and I had a side to myself. I love this ride so much. The air bursts, the water spray, the confetti. Love it all.

SepDis124.jpg

Caught in the act! She had her phone out at the end of the ride.
SepDis127.jpg

I really wanted to take my dad on Screamin' after this. He had never been, but he loooves roller coasters and this is an exceptional one. Thankfully this time I went on it, the music didn't stop halfway through. Plus the wait was only about 5 minutes here as well. DCA on a Monday morning. Nice.

Do you like how it looks like I have a pompadour? And dad is sooooo relaxed.
SepDis128.jpg

I took them on It's Tough To Be A Bug.
SepDis130.jpg

Mom loooved this last March and just laughed and laughed, so we were excited to take my dad on it too. He felt the same way. Too funny.

I think we ate lunch after the show. Taste Pilot's of course. It's the only place I have eaten in DCA. Maybe I should branch out.... nahhh too tasty. Still bummed about no criss-cross fries though! Where can I petition that?? I did try the chili burger this time and it was deeeelicious. My dad decided to try the veggie burger when I told him that it wasn't a Boca.

Side note: once you have had an actual Veggie Burger, Boca is just so icky. We get this specific brand of veggie burgers from Costco, and they are the best. You can taste litttle bits of actual vegetables. They are by Don Lee Farms/Blueberry Hill. My costco got rid of them for a while, and my family thought it was the end of the world. Thankfully they brought them back! Back to the regularly scheduled program.

We had a relaxing lunch. It was earlier than lunch time and so it was nice and quiet in the building. The lights are always a little dimmer in there too, so it was just very relaxing.

We used our FPs for Soarin' next(got the end on the side of the last row again). Then we headed over to the Animation Building. One of our favorites. We ended up staying to draw two characters. Donald and Jack. My Donald wasn't very good this time. Eyes were a little too small and too far apart. I guess dad got bored, so he started drawing whatever was on the stage as well. Show off.

Dad's:

SepDis183.jpg

We closed out DCA with that and headed back to Disneyland. It was closing at 6pm that night(I guess some company bought it out for the night for a party. What? They didn't know that it was my mom's birthday?!?!).

We rode Pirates again, and then went up to Pooh's Corner because I had seen the Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes on here the week before and really wanted to try one. They one left so my mom and I got one to share, and my dad got some chocolatey treat as well.

This is kinda a weird picture:
SepDis134.jpg

We took our treats to the Golden Horseshoe to get a seat for Billy Hill. Loved it as usual.

I guess that we decided that we had ridden what we wanted to on our trip. So we slowly made our way out of the park, stopping at some shops, etc. We didn't leave without trying out first ever Dole Whip though!!!

SepDis136.jpg

Oh gosh...it was so good. I understand now. From now on, I cannot go on a trip without fitting in a Dole Whip.

So that was our little September trip! We went to a Hockey Preseason game at the Honda Center that night to see the Ducks Vs. The Sharks. But that's not very exciting for most of you, I am sure.

The next day we went to Mimi's for breakfast and then drove and parked at Downtown Disney to use my mom's funcard at the World of Disney.

I love the hat your mom had on. That birthday hat is great, I would love to have that hat. And the lines or lack there of at DCA is amazing. When we went in March 2007 it wasn't terribly busy, it was just a casual sort of busy. Thanks for that on the veggie burgers, my 15 year old Kody loves veggie burgers and we usually get Morning Star. I have looked at the ones at Costco and thought of buying them but I wasn't sure because I didn't know how good they were. Now I think I may buy them.
