As hard as it is to get into a game, now people are booting so that they can play 1x3 or 1x4. I get booted now almost every time. Is there any chance that VMK will remove the "boot from game" feature on this as it is being abused? Or is this just my problem?

They probably won't. I can see why people are booting, because I just played 1v3 (I wasn't host, but no one joined purple) and destroyed them. At the end of the game, I got a total of 385 credits, including the 50 credit win bonus.

I will play any game match up win or lose. But I don't like that people are so greedy that they think you want to help them get Extra huge amounts of credit at your expense or just to ensure the win. They are fooling themselves. They really aren't good at the game necessarily. I have found 3 good players working well together can beat a 1 person team but if you have one person that keeps getting zombiefied and doesn't run you have no chance. It is however, crazy to wait 5-10 minutes for a game to start only to get boot or someone who will not start because they are waiting for a friend so they can boot one person and start. I plan to formulate a letter to give them feedback about the game but I will wait till after Christmas for the purpose of time and to see where things go. My suggestions to them so far are: First, to force even teams 1-1, 2-2,3-3, 4-4 it seems only fair in this game if not they need to sub people with computer ghosts busters especially if people drop out. Alternatively they could try to balance the ghost count issue you just don't get any of your color if you play 1 person. You can shake the coffins but that has added risk. Second once a game has been opened and is even after a set amount of seconds a counter that will not reset should start this would be to force quick starts. People will always find ways around things but the game and the opportunity to play should be fair. Often times rather then to wait in one lobby I will jump lobbies to find an open game that isn't 1-3 waiting for a fourth victim. This maybe how I have been able to get in as many games. Feel free to send these or other similar suggestions into the black hole. I feel from past experience with VMK, they will modify the game after some time. I think they have already made the ghosts faster. I expect change I think it is important we do not remain quite about our opinions or we will have no voice in the change.

I understand and sympathise with people on slower systems such as I have at work - that is why I am writing them in favor of even teams.

While I dont condone the 1v2,3 or 4, i wholeheartedly support the 1v1. It's all my slow a...... computer can handle. Have i booted people? yep. Will i again? yep lol. Now, that being said, when somebody from the dis sees me and joins my team, i tell them to hop on the other side and off we go.

If somebody happens to jump in as i hit start i will not exit the game once i am in there (like i have seen others do). But if it is more than 1v1 i just have to wander around and basically take up space for no credits that game and hope my team wins so i at least get something lol.

i like 1v1 cause it is all i can do, also its a pretty even game play AND credit wise.

but i agree if people are sitting waiting for the "other" team to fill and keep booting people from their side, then thats wrong. Soon as i get another person i am in and playing. ;)

I agree with moussedude. 2 on 2 is the most I like to see. However, I find that as soon as i start a team, I get 4 players on that team. I boot and ask them to join the other side. I'm not going to play 4 on my team against 1 on another, or wait all day for the other side to fill up. I usually only get to play at opening. sometimes it takes a long time to get an opponent.

I have really enjoyed playing this new game...one of the few I can actually do...
Anyway... I HATE the boot button and think it should be taken off.
I think the game should be done like fireworks. You get a certain number join and poof, it begins.
I like to play with whomever joins, even sides or not. I have started a game with less then 4 on each side, just to get it going because sometimes you wait forever to start. I cannot stand it when people keep waiting until 4 are on each side and then keep booting people.
My 7 year old daughter likes to play when I do, and she gets so hurt when people boot her. I keep telling her they don't even know her, so don't take it personally, just play the next round.

I don't play often because of the issue of not being able to get into a game
and the time it takes me to wait for a game I could have played a game of fireworks where I'll get at least 90 credits...

Today I got booted from a game by a player doing just that- booting to be 1:3 on a team.

I like fair teams- and in one game I played we actually waited for more players and ended up just 1:1 so another person could set up another 1:3 game. To play and even got to go into sudden death for that one.

I've pulled out of games at the last minute in the unfair sets like 1:4- that is just insane to play that unless you are helping a friend pull up points.

I do like the boot factor so you can play with your own teams if you'd like but it sure is frustrating when people do that.

By the way- my best score today came from a 2:4 game today and I was on the 4 person team- I had a few players who didn't play- I guess they were just going for the 50 point credit on the win or something- but me and the other person on my team actually did really well- So I agree if you have people that work together the game is good- but if they come up and work against you then it isn't any fun.

One game we played 3:3 and even planned after the first round to try and let the other team win if it was close so we'd get another round lol- and then we all benefited by the extra round of ghosts to catch

I'm always getting booted. :guilty: No matter which person I am at the moment, so it's not my looks or name. I always have dis in my title description. And no one ever explains or says move to other side. I don't care how many or who I'm playing with, I like to have fun.

I get booted from pirates all the time too. :guilty: :guilty:

What happens to the other players in a one person on one side ghost game when I lose my connection in the middle of the game? Anyone know?

...........please play with my people sometime, ok?
SleepySith, AmeliaPeabody, Ramses, Sethos, LegOfEmu, FlyingDuck, HauntedMortal, HauntedHeart, AbidingSnort, TwinkleArgh and two others I can't remember......

Ok, I change my mind. Lol. I've been booted a zillion times trying to play today. Everyone is bent on playing 1 person against 4. I also can't stand the ppl who wait forever to push start. Ok, rant over.

Personally, I like to play 1 to 1, but I won't boot a second player on pink :) When there are a lot of people in the game, my computer just goes too slow. I join a lot of games, but when it gets more than 4 players I have to leave.

OK - silly question - do you know you are booted, is there a message? Or does the game just start and you are left in the lobby?

The past four times I have tried to play, I am on a team, the screen says the game is going to begin, and them I am in the lobby and all the other players are gone :confused3
So, is my computer wierd or am I being avoided by every other VMK person out there? I feel like I know about a party and wasn't invited!

There is apparently a bug that when the game starts everyone ends up back in the lobby but there are no buttons or music or text field. you have to leave and come back in. I am unaware if when this happens anyony makes it into the game. If the game "owner boots you you should know befor it starts, however if not you will stay in the same lobby. Don't feel bad, sometimes people don't want to play with you if you are too good. I have had games where it was close to full and only two were left and I had one game where it was just me once it started. So it is difficult to say. I can answer the above question about what if only 1 erson is left on one side. If one person is left they will not get credit for a win and will only get credit for ghosts they catch. If the other team leaves for any reason very, very few ghosts of the remaining player will come out. For the most part the player will have to shake them out. So if you felt intentionally wronged by the game starter it would be payback for the whole team to quit so no win is awarded. I don't support this because it is hard enough to finish a game with two teams but...

I hear where you are coming from Adventuredaz on being booted because of who you are. I have that happen to me a lot.

As for the question of whether you know you have been booted, a message pops up saying it.

The mystery lobby you wind up in when the game starts wrong and there are no buttons - I think this happens most likely when the game was opened, but the host did not start it for a long time. The wait time makes the game crash.

If the game has already started and the other side crashes or quits, you will still get 5 points for every ghost you got. In fact, you can continue to get ghosts once they are gone. When that round is over, your team will get a message that there are no winners since the other team left. So no one get the 50 credits, however, you will still get 5 points for each ghost you clear.

I love haunted mansion...really I am not that great at it..but its fun to try. The other day i was really frustrated with it though. Playing one against four ....of course I was one of the four....and the person on the green (the one) was not very good at all....there were soooo many green ghost....everytime i moved it was me floating around green.....i even coached the person on how to get the ghost...grrrr i was very ummmm hmmm mad maybe....hmmm I didn't even really make a point on this posting lol but now i feel better venting :)

Drives me insane, too. My other frustrating moment is when I start
a game, suddenly every single player joins MY side, with NO oppenents!

I told people to join the other side so I could start the game, and I would
rather keep it even. I did boot people telling them to even the game out,
but they kept jumping on my side.

I just hit the cancel button, alerting the lobby that I refuse to start a
game if people won't join both sides. LOL!

I love to play Haunted Mansion with friends, although Gamebot, DarthJordan and HauntedGrim all know how bad I am at it! lol

I think it is selfish to try and get more credits by being by yourself, and having another person with you means that you not only get thrashed by the other team, you can rely on them when you need them.

I think it would be wise to do what they did with the pirates game and have computers to fill in the missing spaces, that way people who try this sort of thing will get nothing out of it as the AI dudes will get all the ghosts before they do!

Also, you should only boot if you want to play with a couple of friends. When I was playing with the three mentioned above about 50 billion people were trying to get in our game, even when we said no.

I was in haunted mansion and was heading for my credits when a guy started the game list and demanded everyone go to red. You could watch him boot everyone and he kept saying "red" So for 15 minutes i added myself to his side and kept getting booted! I refused to let him get away with being so selfish so i cost him 15 minutes of pressing boot on me! I think he finally got to the start button but i just couldn't stand him being so freaking selfish!
