Booking problem Orbitz

Except for the suites and villas, when you book a regular room through Orbitz and select 2 children (regardless of age), Orbitz quotes a rate for 4 adults. There appears to be no way to work around this. When I went on to obtain a quote, the price of Deluxes were $50 more per room before the 20% discount for my family of 4 (including 2 young kids). While it still results in some savings with the 20% off coupon, the savings are less than hotels.com 10% off code.

The only way around it is to book the room for 2 adults and leave out the kids. But, if you do that, your kids are not tied to the reservation. I assume the risks here are note be able to properly participate in ME (reservation says 2 people but 4 people show up to get on the bus) and being allocated a king bed instead of two queens.

Anyone else booking through Orbitz have this problem? Anyone risk booking only 2 adults for a full family of 4?

I had this same issue...but since ours involved only one child for a 6 night stay didn't make a big difference and the total savings were so big (we have two rooms but only one with a child) So I just chalked it up...there is an area on Orbitz that asked if it was child, and the child's age, but it does appear that they are charging extra adult rate??

Mine is booked and paid for and I think I may send them an email to inquire. I would be leary to book it only as two adults, as like you say, that could be an issue at check-in. maybe you should call their customer service??

Please let me know how it turns out...good luck!!

The person on their chat function spent 10 mins on chat with me confirming that their systems charge for 4 adults no matter the age of the kids. He also confirmed with their disney wholeseller about the risks of booking only 2 adults on the reservation. He was very helpful but indicated that was the way they operated and it was not a glitch. I did email customer service after.

Thank you so much for getting back to me...I don't like their answer and will get that email off to their customer service tonight...if WDW policy is not to charge extra for a child in a room, then neither should Orbitz.

Good luck!! And thanks again!
