I know free dining was released for this fall last week. DH and I are planning a surprise trip for he kids this dec and are wanting to book at POR with free dining. The only thing....I can't book it until this wed. Do you think I'll have any problems with it being sold out by then?

I didnt get the resort I wanted last time we did free diding when I booked the first day. I easily changed it a week or two later. I think you will be ok.

Last year we booked Fall FD 4 weeks after its release - our choices were Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk or AS Movies :) I think you'll be ok as long as you are resort flexible :)

Thanks!! I'll just sit here for the next few days and cross my fingers. I'm ok with moving over to the family suite even though it would bump up our cost a couple hundred bucks. (We're a family of 5 plus infant).

Should be fine. POFQ might be a problem, but POR will probably be fine.

Try looking online and saving it... That might help and at least you would know what kind of places are available right now.

You can call, set up the reservation, and do everything but pay. When they ask you for deposit, ask them to hold the reservation for you! They will hold it for up to 7 days! I've done it several times, especially with free dining.

This is what I was going to suggest. You have to call and do this as booking online requires payment right away, but you can get a 7 day hold when you call. You will be booked and get a confirmation number just as if you made the deposit today. Just keep in mind that the deposit must be paid by the 7th day or else the reservation will automatically cancel. But if your resort is available now, I would get it booked and just plan on making the deposit on Wednesday.

I tried booking POR for the week of the 11-18 of Nov. with the free dining yesterday and it was already sold out. We went with a family suite instead. It was a little more expensive, but probably worth it in the long run since none of our three kids wanted to share a bed at POR.

Just checked online and there are rooms available that week.
