Like cheer-leading competitions, or similar things during that time? I really don't mind the groups and I just mind it when they act like wild animals. We went once during some sort of group thing and the parks were terrible whenever these groups of kids appeared. They took over areas , screaming at families, cursing, rapping loudly etc. We had gotten on the boat in epcot and the driver actually had to tell them to be quiet and they said "NAH man I be ...."and so on. SO I'm really hoping nothing is planned for the dates we are going. We still had fun but it was disappointing seeing these kids with one adult to a group of 20-30 and the adult on a cell phone. Also, wondering when the Christmas decorations go up and thanksgiving goes down.

It's been eight years since I was at WDW at that time but it should be a great time of year to go. You'll miss the Thanksgiving crowds for the most part and Christmas decorations will be up.

When I go back to WDW, I'd like to go then.

I skipped that week because of the Christmas parade taping.

I'm aiming for Dec. 12 - 18th. I think that safely misses both the parade and Pop Warner.

Is Pop Warner there at this time? We went in 2004 and it was crazy with the large groups of kids/adults not knowing how to behave so as everyone could enjoy their WDW experience, it was all about them.
We were also there for the parade taping, which is usually the first Saturday in December I believe, we didn't mind it because for thefirst couple of hours we could walk onto any ride as there were no line ups plus we got to see some cool stars later on.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday!!

I found out that the Christmas parade is taped on Saturday, December 4th. The "talent" portions of the special are taped in the Magic Kindom on December 2nd and 3rd. I don't know if that means people are going to take a "4-day weekend" to be there for the parade, etc., but I didn't want to find out.

Pop Warner is December 3rd through 11th. Not for me.

I decided on December 12th through 18th, mainly because I have a Give-A-Day coupon that expires on December 15th and I need to use it by then.

Thank You for the information everyone. I'm going to really have to think about this, if its worth it to deal with pop warner starting on the second. Maybe I'll make sure to do Magic Kingdom the first few days and then hit MGM Studios and Epcot on the talent days. I wish I could go later but my job gets really busy from the second week of December to Jan 1st and before that the days before Thanksgiving are nuts. So all I have to work with is between Thanksgiving and the first week of December.
