We've been to WDW twice already this year and have two more trips booked. The first two trips were booked through Orbitz and I was able to "stack" a 15% discount on top of the discounted price that Disney was offering. Our next trip is booked directly through Disney. Our November trip is booked through a travel agent. I do my research and go with where ever I can get the best price.
When booking through a third party, you have to be sure that the price they are offering reflects the Disney discounted price and not the Disney rack rate. I don't know if the third party company buys blocks of rooms, because not all rooms and all categories reflect the Disney discounted price.
Possible disadvantages of booking through a third party, you have to pay for the entire trip upfront. Also, there was no cancellation fee through Orbitz when I booked our 2 trips, last year, but from reading some posts on this board, this may have changed recently.
