Thinking of 6pm as I think I saw someone suggest this previously?
We would miss the parade I know but we're there for 4 nights

6pm is a great time to go - the restaurant will be quiet, you'll be able to order your food before the characters come out, and then you'll have the first of them pretty much all to yourselves for a little while, until it gets a bit busier in the restaurant :).

Thanks for your help. It's our first trip so really unsure of times for booking things etc.
What time do most people usually go there is it after the parade?
That's probably too late for us with the kids.
Does cafe mickey open at 6pm for the evening meal?

just after 6pm is when the characters start coming out, and they stay out in rotation until late in the evening.

At this time of year, yes, personally I'd go after the parade, so probably around 7.45pm (which is 6.45pm here). I don't have young kids though, my kids have always been at least 5 when we've gone to DLP.

My children are 6 and almost 4.
It's hard knowing what to do for the best.
What makes it better after the parade? Is it a better atmosphere?
If I wanted after the parade would I book for 7:45 then? I guess if we do that we could have a rest at the hotel before going out for the parade :)

no, the restaurant is better, imo, at 6pm, its just that when the parade is on the rides in the lands in the main park are quieter, so I'd either be watching the parade (we did that every single day when my kids were your kids age) or doing some quiet rides in that time.

Thanks, I think I'll book it for after the parade then as I loved the parades at wdw and bet the kids will too, don't want to miss out :)
Would you happen to know the best time to visit auberge for lunch? I'm thinking 12:30 - 1 with my daughter (3)

And also how do people decide what days to eat at certain places?
We are there for 4 nights / 5 days and want to book our restaurants but can't decide on what days to do things.

I usually decide where we want to eat (note I said I decide! :rotfl2: ) then work out which day(s) we want to watch the parade and work the restaurants round that. Sometimes it's easy - Walt's isn't open Mondays/Tuesdays except in high summer season so that helps a lot!
