Booking/ banking question

Hi!
In May 07 we want to take my parents to stay at DVC. We will need to borrow all of the required points from our August 2007 use year. (We will have used all the Aug 06 points in 2006) If we stay at our home resort (SSR), I can book at 11 months and will have enough points to borrow for the trip.

However, if we chose to stay at a different resort, hopefully BCV, we wont have enough points to borrow. We could borrow for 13 nights but would need to pay cash for one weekend night.


How would I go about booking this? I guess I would book SSR at 11 months, then try to switch to BCV at 7 months. If I did day by day could I end up with a mixture of nights at each resort? Would a 2 bed lock at BCV off be really tough to get in May?

If I need to waitlist can you waitlist for a mixed cash/points reservation? Or is waitlist just for points?

We love SSR so if we stay there it would be fun and certainly less complicated. However we stayed at The Beach Club in 2001 for our wedding with all of our friends and family. My parents would love to go back with their granddaughter, it is special to us all.

I am so confused! I guess it would be easier to take 13 nights (if available) at BCV or stay at SSR.

When in May are you going? If you are going the first 2 or 3 weeks you should have no problem getting into BCV at the 7 month window. I would still make a reservation at SSR at the 11 month window just in case. Since you are going over a two week period, you may have to waitlist a couple days. But you shouldn't have a problem. Now if your trip runs into the week of Memorial Day weekend, then you might have some problems there. We go every year the first two weeks of May and have had no problem getting what we want at 7 or 6 months out. We usually stay at BCV or OKW and have had no problems. I have even booked a GV at OKW only 5 months out for the first week of May with no difficulties.
