Booking airlines w/ Disney Package THROUGH Disney

We have always booked our airlines separately, but this year we may fly a different airline (w/out redeeming miles) so we were going to just book online through Disney as part of our Disney package. Is there any drawback to this? Do they take you directly to the airline site to pay one you "purchase" your package online? Is it basically that they charge you separately from Disney, and that it's pretty much just an airline search engine that Disney puts into their package booking system (even though they don't work together) to make it more convenient for travelers?

its like using a Travel Agent to book your flight. Disney then owns your ressie. If any changes happen or need to happen, you have to go through Disney to get them done. I am too type -A (even though I'm a charter member of the "Desperados" ) to let someone else control my ressie, especially my flight!! What if the airline changes your flight time/stops/connections? You have to call Disney & ask them to get it straightened out. Not worth the aggrivation IMHO. Do it yourself - easy, breezy, lemon squeezy.

We booked our airfare through Disney for the first time, and I have to say. I kind of liked it. I am type A too and did all my research ahead, knew the flight times and dates we wanted and basically told them what I wanted. We did have to call back and make a change and it was so nice to have them deal with it. They have a direct connection through their "aircare" department.

The reason we opted to do it this way, was to take advantage of the Disney Visa 0% for 6 months when you book a package. Made it a little less painful.

Oh that is something I was wondering about too! So IF you book the airline WITH the package, does that cost count towards the 0% financing too? I ask because it says "payment due now" when you look at the flight options, so I wasn't sure how it worked.

When I booked my vacation through Disney they made me pay a $200 deposit and complete airfair right then.

We booked within the window of payment due, so our entire balance was due when I booked. But, I did ask if the airfare would be 0% too and she said yes. We did book a segway tour later, and that is NOT eligible for the 0%.
