Hi, we decided to do Universal for half our trip in October and the last half at Disney staying at the Port Orleans Riverside resort.

I'm wondering about this all inclusive package deal - they (Disney) quoted us $1926 for 3 nights and 4 days to stay at the Riverside, and have our hoppers included and our meals - to me that seems awfully STEEP, but I just don't know ...

I'm wondering - is this meal deal 'really' worth it? We are a family of 4 -- hubby, two boys (9 and 6) and I'm wondering will we all really benefit from the meal plan included?

I'm getting the feeling that there won't really be any room discount codes for October so I just don't know if this is the way to go or not ??? Any help or ideas greatly appreciated ! :)

What is your check in date? The first few days of October are value season and than it switches to regular season.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me - the check in date is 10/11 (Wed) through 10/14 (Saturday). My husband thinks this is too expensive - but I'm just not sure . . .

First of all you are not getting free dining. Free dining ends Sept 30th. The dining plan costs $39 for each adult and $11 for each kid. That's $100 a day for food. If you think you will spend less than that on food than drop the dining plan that should save you some $$$

Well actually the rep that quoted me the price said this 'was' the dining plan ? Maybe it's just under a different name? Not 'free?' Now I'm REALLY confused !!!!! YIKES !

I really don't think we'd spend $100 a day on food, honestly !!! I really need to reconsider everything - but I'm just going crazy! I'm wondering what kind of rate to expect for the PORiverside ? Do I just pay rack rates if there are not codes coming out ?

I ran your dates through disneyworld.com and couldn't get your exact price but it looks like they added dining (+$294), passes with water parks & park hopper (+$1,092).

Room only is $518 with tax (standard view).

If you are planning to come back again within the next few years, I would invest in a 10 day pass with no expiration. Since your kids are under 10, they can continue to use them even when they are older, as long as the first use is under age 10.

Thanks for doing that Debbie - I'm wondering if that is tax included ? Because if it is - then it's cheaper than what they quoted me (although they quoted me a water view room which is probably why it's a little higher ??). I feel so out of the loop - it's been 3 years since we've been to Disney and I feel like I'm starting all over again! I normally plan my trips out a year or so - and it's like 3 months before we go and I'm totally panicking!!! ARGH !!!

You have booked a package which includes the Dining Plan, however, it isn't free. The Free Dining Plan was offered for travel between August 13th and September 30th. The free offer had to be booked by June 25th.

As the other posters have pointed out, you have the dining plan, but you are paying for it - it isn't free.

In order to keep sots down for our trip I do not include the park hopper or water parks. Not enough time to do it all so for our family just getting several days straight park admission helped a wee bit. If that is something your family can do go and try and get $ without the hopper. Good Luck and happy Planning!
