We've been flying Jetblue for a number of years, so for the most part, I'm familiar with their guidelines. Decided yesterday to jump on the 200/pp fare for our Sept trip (when I read here they were going to be down for upgrades today/tommorrow). Called first to check cancellation policy, as DD16 may end up not coming. DH wanted me to buy her ticket now to guarantee we could all sit together. The agent told me that the cancellation fee for a fare under 100 would be 50, and for a fare over 100, it would be 100. So, since our fares were 89+tax each way, we would only potentially incur the 50 fee, for the roundtrip flight. If I had held off buying and the fares went up to 109 each way (still not a horrible price), the fee would double. I checked the website, which did not state this, so I called back. The second agent confirmed this policy to be correct. Ideally, it would have been easier on our budget to wait to book till we received our tax refund, but now I have peace of mind for the next several months. Plus, I could still get a credit if the price goes down.

Wouldn't your fare be over $100, I am not 100% positive, but I don't think they look at each leg independently in terms of pricing out the cancellation charge.

Maybe I got incorrect info? I specifically pointed out that the round trip was 200, and that the website states 100 fee. Both reps said that if you cancel both legs of the trip in the same phone call, it would be 50. Hopefully I won't have need to cancel.

You got correct info. I've changed our Jetblue flights twice. One time the fare for the segment I changed was $69 and the other time it was $89. Both times the change fee was $50. Oh and the $89 fare I just changed last week, so this is recent info. Although I only changed one way, not round trip, so I guess I can't answer that specific question. I'm not that much help, am I? :upsidedow

That's what I am thinking, if you change either leg, the fee would be associated to the leg pricing (ie. $89 would be $50), but a full cancellation would effect both legs so it would be the entire fare.
