I just booked a car from Alamo for a week mid-March, 15-22. It is a mid-sized car and the price was $111 plus tax. I have it booked to pick up from the Dolphin resort. This seems like an excellent price to me but I booked online and I wasn't asked for anything except my name. Is this for real? I was on the Alamo website but I thought more information would be needed to book. Anyone have any info on this? Does it seem OK?

Wow, that is a good price! I ended up with a quote of $155 for May 8-16th. (And that is for an economy car!)

Rootskate,
Check Mousesavers.com. There's a coupon for Alamo there. I was able to get an intermediate for less than $150 and that was for 8 days in May. Full size was $165.

I just booked Alamo full size (Grand Prix or similar) -- which is the like the category of midsize with National -- for 8 days $160 (March)

I've never used Alamo before. Will I be as happy as National?

I just booked an SUV with Alamo for Feb. 17 - 20, and I'm going to wind up paying about 300.00! The full size was only 30.00 less so for 10.00 a day - I don't mind this little extra cost. This is with a Costco discount. Does it matter when you make reservations? The prices was 176.00 for 7 days back in May. Is it like the flights where the further you book ahead, the better the prices will be, or does it depend on when you are going? I'm hearing Feb. 17 is starting the Magic Season.

Yes that is a good price, I rented an intermediate from Alamo for March 16-21 for $120 including all fees and taxes, I used the Priceless code and the Entertainment book coupon. All there is to it, is your name, phone number and email address, no credit card info needed until you check in with Alamo or with National.

For the person who asked if they would be happy with National as much as they are pleased with Alamo, I think so...We had good experiences with both companies in the last year, both very polite and easy check in with no problems, cars clean and no trouble with turn in.... :flower1:

I must be doing something wrong-it seems that no matter what rental I go through and what kind of car I pick (there's five of us so I need at least a full size), my rental quotes for Feb 25-Mar.5 are never under $350. I just keep hoping better rates will come out!

I went back to Mousesavers-the new codes are up-yay! The best one I'm seeing for 8 days is Dollar-fullsize at $239. That's a lot better than $350 so I'm doing better now.
