Boo to You...and Food & Wine Too! - October 26 to November 2, 2012 Updated Post #282

Day 3 – October 28, 2012 – Part 4

We left off at DHS that morning to afternoon and we are back at the Sheraton Vistana Resort to rest up so we can head on back to DHS for the first show of Fantasmic! at 7:30pm. Even though we plan on getting there late for the first show, we should be able to get a nice spot in the handicapped area. Mostly when I go to a nighttime show, I spend at least an hour or two so I can get the best spot to watch the show so I can videotape or take pictures. But this time, I had to do what is best for my group so we waited a little later that night to go on back to DHS. We did a lot of different attractions that day and they were all pleased with the attractions that we have done.

Later that day after we got back to the Sheraton Vistana Resort, we rested up so we can go back to DHS that night for the first show of F!. Everyone was resting up that day while I was on my iPad and laptop writing and uploading the pictures from the trip.

It was around 5:30pm when we left the Sheraton Vistana Resort and head straight on back to DHS for the first show of F!. I was surprised that they wanted to leave at that time instead of leaving around 6pm, but they wanted to get there a little early so we can get a nice spot. Since the DHS was a little busy that day and on touring plans said that it is the park to avoid, they didn’t want to take any chances so we left a little early that night.

We got to DHS around 6pm and we head on over to the get the ECV and wheelchair for Uncle M and Aunt H so we can sit in the handicapped area. I knew that there were people at the F! arena since 5pm and the middle section should be all filled up. I was hoping that there weren’t too many people in the handicapped middle section. We will just wait and see what spot we will be seeing the show from.

The night was nice and a little cloudy. But it said that it won’t be raining which is a good thing.
8137219483_e7386b4410_c.jpg

We got the wheelchair and ECV and we head on down Hollywood Blvd.
8137251658_cf9d3f5de1_c.jpg

Now we head down towards Sunset Blvd. It was kind of busy that night at DHS so we hope that the arena won’t be filled up that night. But since there are two shows, it shouldn’t be that bad.
8137226083_68cf711bd1_c.jpg

8137228323_9db98156eb_c.jpg

Now we are right by the entrance of F! and head on straight on in to the arena.
8137259750_0d0b82dce1_c.jpg

8137232665_c6179ce204_c.jpg

When we got to the arena, the middle section of the bleachers for the sit downs is already filled up as well as the right hand side except for the F! dinner package area. So the left side of the arena was not filled up as expected. But the handicapped area was filled up on the right side as the middle. But we are able to get a nice spot on the left hand side of the middle section. So we had a nice spot to see the show since we are not in the middle of the arena.

We had an hour to kill until it was time for the show. While we were waiting, I set up my video camera equipment while everyone is trying to stay warm. My DB, Uncle S & R were on their phones while the others were talking to each other. We didn’t want to eat until after the show, so I will get to that later on this post.

It was almost time for the show and there were some CM’s entertaining the guests until it was time for the show. In my experience at DHS F!, they have never done this before while we were waiting for the show to start. They might have done this last year since I have not seen F! since December 2010 with my DA. It was a nice entertainment to get the guests interacted until it was time for the show. They did trivia and games that night which was fun.

8137269042_25bf89ccbe_c.jpg

It was finally time for the first show of F! and most of the guests in the arena had there light up items turned on from light up ears, hats, phones, swords, etc. to make the area looked all nice.

8137271390_2c8151762e_c.jpg

The show started and while I was videotaping on my tripod, I got my DSLR out to take a few pictures. I hate to say this that I will not be uploading the video of F! that night since some scenes were blurry. Enjoy the pictures of F! that night.

I always like to compare this show at DHS and the one at DL. Even though F! at DHS is very popular nighttime show, it needs a little update just like the version at DL where it was updated a few years ago with a full body Malificent dragon. Hopefully DHS will get one one day in the future. Every time in my opinion, DL version is way better than DHS.

I think we know who this is at the start of the show

8137296214_8acba1345c_c.jpg

When the show was over, we waited until it cleared since there were a lot of people leaving the arena. Since we are right on the left hand side which has no exit, we just waited until it died down.
8137273347_62ec7fe88e_c.jpg

When leaving the arena was smaller, we left, but it was just as busy leaving the area that night as entering.
8137274691_40c37561d8_c.jpg

The next thing was leaving the park since we have done everything that night. So we started to head on out of the park and back to the cars.
8137274691_40c37561d8_c.jpg

It was past 8:25pm that night as we were heading on out of DHS.
8137309856_40ff727b9b_c.jpg

Before we head on out of the park, we had to drop off the ECV and wheelchair.
8137309856_40ff727b9b_c.jpg

While my uncles were dropping off the ECV and wheelchair, I took a few pictures around Hollywood Blvd until it was time to head on out of the park.

8137319552_d97099db9e_c.jpg

When they dropped off the ECV and wheelchair, we all head on out of DHS and back to the cars. Our next destination that night was to head on over to the Boardwalk Resort and have dinner that night. I will tell you on the next post of where we had dinner that night.

Day 3 – October 28, 2012 – Part 5

We left off at DHS that night finishing watching the first show of Fantasmic!. I love watching F! at DHS when I go to WDW and I really am glad that all of my party members were excited to see the show that night. Now we are leaving DHS and off to the Boardwalk Resort to have dinner.

We just left DHS and on our way to the Boardwalk Resort to have dinner. Originally, we were suppose to have dinner at Hollywood and Vine restaurant that night, but there wasn’t anything available that day so we just skipped it and did something else that night.

When we got to the Boardwalk Resort, we head on over to the Big River Grille and Brewing Works restaurant. It was a American cuisine restaurant at the Boardwalk Resort. I originally was going to take them to the ESPN Club at the Boardwalk since I have eaten there a lot in the past. But my group wanted to try the Big River Grille and Brewing Works restaurant instead of the ESPN Club. I had no problem with it so we head on over to the Big River Grille and Brewing Works for dinner that night.

8137296517_5d4f2e3b73_c.jpg

Actually we had appetizers that night since we didn’t want to eat too much that night. So we all had appetizers except for me since I had a steak dinner that night. Good thing that it wasn’t that crowded and we got in with no problem. It was neat to try another restaurant that I have never tried before so it was exciting.

After we finished dinner, we head on back to the Sheraton Vistana Resort to call it for the night.

This was a very nice day at DHS since we did a lot of different attraction that night at DHS. We also got to see Fantasmic! that night which is something that everyone enjoyed a lot. Plus we got to eat at the Big River Grille and Brewing Works restaurant that night which was nice to try that night.

The next day is going to be an interesting day since we aren’t planning on going to the parks and trying some new things. We will be going on an airboat ride in a town called Christmas and we will be heading on over to the Kennedy Space Center. This will be very interesting to try that day. So stay tune for the next update.

Bret - Just catching up. I have been keeping an eye out for posts on your TR. Seems like I missed a couple of notices....or it could have been that I haven't been on the Dis often enough and they just dropped off?? :confused3

Anyway, nice lot of pictures from the shows at DHS. I'm glad that your family decided to go visit this park and managed to catch the shows. Are you happy with the F! shots?

Love the food porn!

And I'm hoping to get nice and close to a croc tomorrow. :thumbsup2

You haven't missed much PiO.

Glad that you are enjoying all the pictures from DHS. It was nice that they were willing to come to DHS and see all these shows that day. The F! shots were nice since I used the Nikkor 55-200mm lens for the pictures since the 35mm won't get close up shots. I was happy with the pictures with that lens.

The food at Big River Grille and Brewing Works was very nice.

The next post will be up shortly.

Day 4 – October 29, 2012 – Part 1

The last update was at DHS where we did quite a lot of different attractions and shows that day. Now it is a new day where we aren’t planning on going to any of the Disney Theme parks and are heading on the road to do some different stuff during our trip. This time we will be heading on the road and going to a town called Christmas to go on an airboat tour that day and also while we are in the area of Cape Canaveral, we plan on going to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

We got up early that morning just like the other days and my aunt was up again cooking breakfast for the two of us. She is a breakfast type person while my DB and I are not breakfast people. But it was always nice of her to cook breakfast for the three of us so we can be all ready to go to our next destination during our trip. We had eggs, bacon, sausage and donuts along with orange juice just like the other day. It is always nice to eat a nice breakfast so we would have enough energy to enjoy our day.

After we finished breakfast and clean up the kitchen, we all got dressed and started to get in our cars and we all head on over to the airboat tour in Christmas. This was a first time for all of us of riding a airboat tour during the trip. I was first surprised that we were doing an airboat tour, but my uncles wanted to try this when we set up our trip. I went with it and was excited to go on an airboat tour. Good thing that it was not too far from Cape Canaveral so we can head on over to the Kennedy Space Center.

We left around 7am from the Sheraton Vistana Resort and had an hour drive to get to Christmas. We had to go through a lot of different tolls on the way and we got to the Airboat Rides Midway area around 8am. It was off of East Colonial Drive and was about 30 minutes from the Kennedy Space Center. So it was really close to Cape Canaveral. It was very cold that morning so we all worn our jackets since we are going on an airboat during the trip.

8137328298_309a93929e_c.jpg

It took a while until we got on the airboat so we went off in the swamps around 9am. We were all excited to ride on an airboat in the swamps in Florida. We all get headsets so we can talk to each other and hear our guide talk about the swamps in Florida. We were out in the swamp for about 1 hour and our guide was going around a lot of different areas.

Here is one of the pictures during the airboat tour
8243989400_7ffab2b2d2_c.jpg

After going around the swamp, we head on back to the dock. After we got off, our guide took us over to see one of their alligators in a cage area. Our guide rubber band the alligators mouth so we won’t get bitten by it. My DB, Uncle M and Aunt H were the brave people to carry the alligator. They said that it was heavy for a small alligator and they had fun lifting it.

8242961137_acb78243ef_c.jpg

When we finished up at the Airboat Rides Midway, we got in our cars and head east towards Cape Canaveral and head on over to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. It took over 30 minutes to get to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex from the Airboat Rides Midway area. We got there around noon which was kind of late to go to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, but we were in the area and they wanted to see the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

The entrance to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is a little different when I last been here since 2006. It has been a long time for me to be at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex since my dad and my DB saw it back in 2009. I didn’t go with them since I was with my mom at one of the Disney’s parks. It has changed a lot since the last time I have been here and was all excited. The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is going through a major renovation and I read that it won’t be ready until next year. I will get to that shortly of what is happening at the Center during my trip report.

8137332582_abc565c978_c.jpg

We head on over to the ticket stands to get tickets for the Center.

After we got our tickets, we head on over to the turnstiles and entered the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
8137305301_a4b1cb96dd_c.jpg

The first thing we saw when entering the Visitor Complex was the Rocket Garden

After looking at the Rocket Garden, we head on over to the IMAX Films Theater to see one of the movies. But first we passed through other buildings on the way to the IMAX Theater.

8137312751_26bc269a71_c.jpg

We finally got to the IMAX Theater and the show we watched was the Hubble 3D which talks about the Hubble telescope. It was 3D where it was neat.
8137342262_f9973ce2ed_c.jpg

After watching the film, we head on over to the Orbit Café to have lunch. Unfortunately, it was busy that day where we had to wait awhile to get food. It was mostly like cafeteria food at a school where the food was not that good and it was overcooked. We didn’t enjoy the food but we needed to eat something that day since we were in Cape Canaveral.

When we finished, we head on over to the Bus Boarding area to head on over to the Apollo/Saturn V Center. On the way over to the Bus Boarding area, we got to see the new complex building where they will have the Space Shuttle Atlantis. It is under construction and it will be opened next summer.
8137342564_d6d494bbb7_c.jpg

We got on the bus and we were heading on over to the Apollo/Saturn V Center, but first we got to see the NASA’s facilities, including the launch pads & the Vehicle Assembly Building.
8137313705_cb5885d2cb_c.jpg

While we were passing the Vehicle Assembly Building, we got a peak at the Shuttle Atlantis which was inside the Vehicle Assembly Building while the building was open. You can barely see it in the picture and we heard that it left the facility a couple of days when we were there on its way over to the new complex building at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. It was neat to see the back side of the Space Shuttle Atlantis in the Vehicle Assembly building where it will be display at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
8137314045_f78a601336_c.jpg

That’s it for this update and I will have more later on from Cape Canaveral.

It's great that you visited the Kenedy Space Center. We enjoyed that years ago. Was the air boat tour worth the time and money?

It's great that you visited the Kenedy Space Center. We enjoyed that years ago. Was the air boat tour worth the time and money?

It was nice to go to the Kennedy Space Center since I haven't been there in years. If you ever go back to the Kennedy Space Center, there will be updates to the Visitor Complex with the Space Shuttle Atlantis on display. There will be another reason to go back to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex to see the Space Shuttle Atlantis.

The airboat tour was a very nice experience to go through the swamps and look at the alligators. There were also herds of animals in the swamp which was neat to see. But for the price of $40 an adult for an hour which seems really high, but my uncle's wanted to do that during our trip. We all had a great time on the airboat ride.

The next update will be up shortly.

Day 4 – October 29, 2012 – Part 2

The last update was left off at Cape Canaveral while we were visiting the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Earlier that day, we went to do an airboat ride in the swamps of Florida. It was an interesting experience to go on an airboat and go to different parts of the swamps in Florida. We got to see a few alligators in the swamps and we also got to carry one in our hands which was neat. Now we were in Cape Canaveral going around the Kennedy Space Center looking at all these different rockets and buildings talking about the history of the space program. Now we are on the bus heading on over to the Apollo/Saturn V complex off site which is something that everyone in the group will like a lot to see an actual Saturn V rocket.

We were on the bus heading on over to the Apollo/Saturn V complex to see the history of the Apollo program. It was a few minutes from the Kennedy Space Center Complex. We got to the Apollo/Saturn V Complex and we waited to enter the complex. The first thing we saw when we entered the complex was a setup of the launch room when the Saturn V was about to launch. It gave us a feel what it was like when the launch of the Saturn V was about to happen which was exciting.

8137314981_932bd427a1_c.jpg

After the presentation at the launch room was over, we had on out of the room and now in the complex building where they have an actual Saturn V rocket with each different stage.

That’s it for this post from the Apollo/Saturn V Complex and I will have more later on.

Bret- Great updates! I love that picture of your DB with the croc and I didn't realise that there was a proper swampy airboat ride so close to KSC. We've done one in the Everglades and I believe the Bogey Creek one is more a lake than a waterway. Looks like I should file that one away in the memory banks.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Your pictures of KSC so far. We were there in 2005 and it was a complete surprise and a delight for us. DH lived through the moon landing (glued to the TV) and so he was keen to go. I was really glad we went. Can't wait to see more.

Great pictures of the Kennedy Space Center. I especially like the patches that you pointed out. We were there about 12 years ago and it didn't look like this!

Thank you PiO. My DB enjoyed carrying the croc after the airboat ride. I was surprise that there was a airboat ride close to KSC. Good thing that my uncle was able to search for one on the internet. The internet is so great or we would not be able to find out about the Airboat Midway Ride at Christmas. If you ever go back to the KSC, you should consider trying that tour one day.

Glad that you are enjoying the pictures from KSC. The KSC has changed a lot since i was there a long time ago. It would have been great to see the Space Shuttle Atlantis in the new building. But we will have to wait until next summer to see it.

Great pictures of the Kennedy Space Center. I especially like the patches that you pointed out. We were there about 12 years ago and it didn't look like this!

Thank you TK. It was neat to see all the different patches of each Apollo mission. A lot has changed at the KSC and it is going to be even better next year.

The next post will be up shortly.

Day 4 – October 29, 2012 – Part 3

The last update was at the Apollo/Saturn V Complex which house a Saturn V rocket and talks about the history of the Apollo Program. It is always exciting to go to the Apollo/Saturn V Complex to see the Saturn V rocket and the history of the Apollo program. It is one of my favorite exhibits of going to the KSC. Most of my relatives were wondering around the complex while my DB and I are just walking around.

8137329847_a35251849a_c.jpg

8137330217_cacae26200_c.jpg

We left off at the Apollo/Saturn V complex where we were seeing an actual Saturn V rocket as well as the modules, models, vehicles, space suits, etc. during the Apollo program. After we looked at the rocket, we head to the Apollo Treasures Gallery showcases treasures from the Apollo moon mission, including the Apollo 14 Command Module.

After looking at the Apollo Treasures Gallery, we head on over to Apollo 11 land theater to relive the Apollo 11 landing. All of us have head on over to the theater to watch the show. It is always neat to watch the show of how Apollo 11 landed on the moon.

When the show was over, we were about to leave and head on back to the bus. While on the way out of the complex, I got a few pictures on the way out.
8137362398_a9c734f780_c.jpg

8137333485_8b7d72c434_c.jpg

We head on back to the bus at the Apollo/Saturn V Complex and rode the bus all the way back to the KSCVC. While we were here, we decided to go on over to the Gift shop to see if there was something to buy before we head on out of the KSCVC.
8137334073_edf7754c2a_c.jpg

A look at the Shuttle Launch Experience building which will be opened next summer.
8137334487_2e45739329_c.jpg

While we were shopping at the gift shop, we were all planning on going to St. Augustine which is 2 hour drive up north from Cape Canaveral, but my DB was not feeling well. My aunt, DB and I decided to head on back to the Sheraton Vistana Resort while the others went to St. Augustine. It was a shame that my DB was not feeling well after the Apollo/Saturn V Complex. So we head on back to the Sheraton Vistana Resort and they went straight to St. Augustine from Cape Canaveral.

It took us one hour to get back to the Sheraton Vistana Resort and when we got back around 5pm. When we got back to the room, we didn’t have dinner yet. So we went to the Santa Fe Cattle Co. restaurant which is right by our resort on S. Apopka Vineland Road. My DB and I have ate at this restaurant in the past since it was close to the Sheraton Vistana Resort. It is a great steak house restaurant with a nice selection of steaks, ribs and fajitas.

When we finished dinner around 7:15pm, we head on back to the Sheraton Vistana Resort. While we got back to the Sheraton Vistana Resort, I thought about going to the Magic Kingdom that night to see Wishes fireworks. I know that it was crazy to go this late where it will be busy at the MK. Since we weren’t doing anything that night, I decided to try and see if I can watch Wishes and get a good spot. It started at 9pm and there was no way I would be able to get a great spot up around the Hub area of MS for the fireworks. I decided to see if it was worth it or not. Mostly I would not do that since I want a great spot, but this is the only time I will be able to see Wishes fireworks at the MK since we will be at the MK the next day during MNSSHP. This was also a great opportunity to take some pictures of the fireworks with the trails since this is the only night I would be able to do it since I will be using my tripod for videotaping of HalloWishes fireworks.

I packed my bag with my camera and tripod and I head on over to the MK that night. Good thing that I had a car so I can get over to the MK instead of taking a bus.

When I got to the Transportation and Ticket Center, it was almost 8pm and I didn’t have enough time to get a good spot for the fireworks. So I knew that it was going to be on the streets of MS to watch the fireworks unless there aren’t any people that night.

I took the monorail from the T&TC to the MK. I went on the Express line since it is the fastest to get to the park instead of the Resort line or Ferry.

I am now at the MK, I didn’t stop around MS to take pictures of the Halloween decorations since I am rushing on over to get a good spot for the fireworks. I got to the park around 8:30pm which was about 30 minutes till the fireworks and the streets of MS were packed as I have expected. On the way over, I did get a few pictures of the Halloween decorations on MS. Just like DL during the Halloween season, there were a lot of pumpkin decorations on the lamp posts and on the buildings.

This was the spot where I will have to watch the fireworks since the Hub area is all filled up and there was no way to go up even further.

When I pulled my tripod out of my carry bag, it didn’t have the tripod release plate which holds the camera. I realized that I left it on my video camera when I used it the other night. So I brought my tripod for nothing and I can’t take pictures of the fireworks trails that night. So I had to take pictures the old way of handling it with my hands and hope that the pictures won’t be that blurry.

While I was waiting for Wishes, I got a few pictures around the area of MS.

It was 9pm and the light around MS turned dark and it was time for Wishes fireworks. I was disappointed at first of forgetting the tripod release plate for my camera and I just had to take pictures the old fashion way. Since I was a short guy, I was not able to get no head in my pictures. So I had to do my best of taking the pictures. Here are some pictures from Wishes that Monday night.

That’s it for this post and I will have more from Wishes fireworks at the MK.

I hope that your DB was feeling better after some food and for getting back to the suite.

I'm surprised to see the green lights from your ND filter. Wonder why that's happening?

You must have been absolutely wishing you had that plate! But I'm guessing that you had another opportunity to shoot the fireworks. popcorn::

He was feeling better when we got back to the Sheraton Vistana and we were all hungry that night. So we head dinner that night.

I was going to ask you about the green lights when I took pictures with the ND filter on the lens. I did see that before when I was taking pictures at night with the lens on and when I saw those green lights in the pictures that it was the ND filter that caused it. Do you think it was the reflection of the lights that caused it?

I always leave the plate on my video camera when we are done watching the nighttime shows. I mostly have it on my video camera and I used it the most. But since i was watching the fireworks that night and I wanted to get the firework trails, I completely forgot to take it off the video camera and I left it behind since I wanted to get pictures of the firework trails. Lucky that my camera was fine to take pictures that night.

The next post will be up shortly.

Day 4 – October 29, 2012 – Part 4

I left off at the MK watching Wishes fireworks on Main Street. Mostly when I go to the parks for nighttime events, I get a good spot to watch the fireworks, Illuminations, F!, etc. But since I got here late due to my trip to Cape Canaveral and having dinner with my aunt and DB, it was a bonus for me to come to the MK that late at night to watch Wishes. I have been a big fan of Wishes fireworks since it debut in 2003. It has been my favorite firework show at the MK. I like how Jiminy Cricket and the Blue Fairy are the host of the show and hear all the different Disney characters in the show. I was all by myself that night since the other members of my group didn’t want to go in the park and waste a ticket for that day. Good thing that I have a Premier Annual Pass so I can enter the parks anytime I want which helps a lot. Now let’s get back to the TR and Wishes fireworks.

Wishes fireworks have started at 9pm and I was in the middle of MS watching the fireworks. I brought all my equipment for the fireworks and I can’t believe that I forgot the plate for my tripod. I needed the plate to hold my tripod so I would be able to take pictures of the fireworks. So I had to hold my camera the old way which is something that I am used too. But I wanted to get the trails of the fireworks.

More pictures from Wishes fireworks that night.

After Wishes fireworks was over, I left the park as well as the other people since I have to get up early tomorrow on Wednesday to go to the MK. Even though my aunt and DB will be going to MNSSHP that day, I want to take them as well as my other relatives to experience the original park at WDW.

While I was heading on out of the park, it was quite busy leaving the area just like any day after the nighttime show is over. But I waited awhile at the stores since it will be busy to get on the monorail or ferry to the T&TC.

So I took a few pictures of MS with the Halloween decorations while I was leaving that night. I could have stayed a little longer that night to get pictures of the Halloween decorations, but I decided to take pictures of the decorations the next day when there is daylight.

I took the Monorail Resort line instead of the Express line since there were a lot of people heading on over to the Express line. It does take a while to get from the Resort line than the Express line, but I would get on the Resort line faster than the Express. I always like to ride the Express and stop at the Contemporary Resort hotel.

When I got off at the T&TC, I head on back to my car and head on back to the Sheraton Vistana Resort and met up with my DB and aunt. While I got back, my other members of my family were not back yet from St. Augustine and it was around 10pm. I knew that they were going to get back late that day. I was told that they got back around 11pm that night and they were tired. So they went to bed and we did the same thing and that concludes that day.

This was a very nice day where we did a lot of different activities that day. We got go on an airboat ride in the swamps, after that we went to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and later that night I got to go to the MK and watch Wishes even though I wasn’t at a great spot to watch the fireworks. It was a nice day and glad that we got to go on the airboat ride and KSC. The next day will be at the MK where we will go in the morning and go on classic rides and later that night go to MNSSHP which I am looking forward to during this trip and compare this party to the other parties that I have done during MVMCP and MHP.

That really is a shame about the tripod plate. But your handheld shots look good.

In regards to the green lights....yes, I do think that the reflection caused it; although I'm not sure why. I would recommend that you head to the photography subforum and ask the experts there. They are going to know much more than me. :goodvibes

Your hand-held shots are great! I always enjoy your firework/night shots. You did have a very full day. Looking forward to hearing how you liked the MNSSHP and parade. :surfweb:

It was a shame that I didn't have the tripod plate, but the pictures were nice when I looked at them after the fireworks.

When I have time, I will do some more research on the green lights with the lens on during the nighttime.

Thank you TK. We did quite a lot of different things that day and it was fun. I was also looking forward for the next day during MNSSHP and trying out your spot for the parade.

Day 5 – October 30, 2012 – Part 1

During our last day which was Monday the 29th, we did quite a lot of different activities that day by going on an airboat ride in the swamp, going to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and I went to the Magic Kingdom that night to see Wishes fireworks which was quite a lot that day. Now It is time to go to the MK which I like to go and compare this park to DL at Anaheim. Even though the MK is twice the size of DL, I will always like DL more than the MK since it is the original park. But I enjoy the MK and the different ride experience that it offers at the MK. We are all planning on going to the MK in the morning to the afternoon while my aunt, DB and I will be going back the MK that night to attend MNSSHP. Originally on my original pre-trip report, my DB GF was supposed to be with us during the trip but she had to make a last second change since her mom was diagnose with cancer. It was really nice that my aunt was nice to come along with us at the last second which was great. Now let’s get to the trip report.

Just like the other days when we got up, our aunt was up again cooking breakfast for the two of us. This time we had steak and eggs for breakfast. The steak we had for breakfast was leftovers from the Santa Fe Cattle Co. Restaurant that we had dinner the other night. My DB tried to get up early to make breakfast for everyone, but our aunt was a morning person and was up early that day. Those two were all rested up since they were at the room the other night while I was at the MK watching Wishes fireworks.

After we finished breakfast and clean up the kitchen, we all got dressed and met up with our other members of our group which they are right next door to us at the Sheraton Vistana Resort. We got in our cars and head on over to the WDW and over to the Transportation & Ticket Center to head on over to the MK. I had a hunch that this was going to be a great day to go to the MK, not only the weather was very nice I was exciting to take them to the MK.

When we got to the T&TC, we head on over to the Monorail station and rode the Resort line since I want them to see the monorail stations at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian resorts.

While we were riding Monorail Gold and heading on over to the MK, we passed by the new Disney Vacation Club villas that was under construction. It is a new addition to the GF which will be the second DVC property on the monorail line following Bay Lake Tower. Here are some pictures of the construction of the villas at the GF.

We got off the monorail at the MK station and now heading on over to the MK that morning. It was a little late that day to enter the MK after 11am, but my relatives were tired from the other day after that long drive from St. Augustine but we had no problem with it since we can do a lot in the time we have. It was quite busy after exiting the monorail station.

When we pass through the turnstiles we were at the park and the first thing I always take is a picture of the MS Railroad station.
8143363029_5c77cc37da_c.jpg

While I am at the park, I was also here to get as many pictures of the Halloween decorations. I wanted to see how much Halloween decorations are at this park and compare this one to DL which has a lot of Halloween decorations. This will be very interesting to see what they offer especially I didn’t take it serious the other night since I wanted to do it the next day.

My relatives head on over to the wheelchair rental area on the right hand side of entering the park so we can get a ECV and wheelchair for my uncle and aunt. While we were waiting, I took a few pictures around the area and the Halloween decoration quest started that morning.

They really are coming along with the GFV! Its going to be pretty popular, judging from the size so far.

Thanks for the MK Main Street pictures. Looks as colourful as always for Halloween.
