Boo to You...and Food & Wine Too! - October 26 to November 2, 2012 Updated Post #282

They really are coming along with the GFV! Its going to be pretty popular, judging from the size so far.

Thanks for the MK Main Street pictures. Looks as colourful as always for Halloween.

WDW is coming along really well with the GFV. I know that it is going to be popular just like Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary. But the GFV will be well decorated than BLT and I would choose BLT first before the GFV.

Glad that you are enjoying the pictures from MS. MS at the MK during the Halloween season is well decorated and I would consider the MK is better decorated than DL in my opinion.

The next post will be up shortly.

Day 5 – October 30, 2012 – Part 2

We left off at the MK entering the park that afternoon. We did came a little late which the park opened at 9am but everyone just came back from St. Augustine last night which was very late and we had no problem with that and we came late that day at the MK. When we entered the MK, I had to get as much pictures of the Halloween decorations. I always like to compare the MK and DL all the time and this time I was comparing the Halloween decorations at both parks. Both parks during the Halloween season are very well decorated with the Halloween colors and decorations. I would say that the MS at the MK is better decorated than DL in my opinion. There were a lot of pumpkins on the buildings and through the windows which is the same way that DL does their Halloween season. Let’s get back to the trip report.

We just entered the park and now walking down MS to our first stop. It was to head on over to the Hub to get some pictures as a family. While we were walking down MS all the way to the Hub, I had to get as much pictures of the Halloween decorations. Most of the Halloween decorations are very color and matched the season. There were a lot of different pumpkins with different designs which is something that is very interesting.

There was Cinderella Castle which is so great to look at every time while I am at the park. It was quite busy around the Hub and by Partners statue. So we had to wait awhile until it was our turn to get a picture of the statue and Cinderella Castle.
8143391103_b0585bdb67_c.jpg

While we were around the Hub, I decided to get some pictures around the area including the flowers.
8143423000_c5a90c787a_c.jpg

There were a few statues around the Hub with Disney characters during the Halloween season. There was Musketeer Donald with a pumpkin.

It was finally our turn to take a picture at the Hub and we all had a group picture together. I didn’t use my camera to take a picture and used the photopass for our group picture. I didn’t upload the group picture during that day.

When we finished taking our picture of the Hub, I got a few more pictures until we head on over to our next destination which was Tomorrowland.

While we were in TL, the first ride that we are planning to go on was the Peoplemover which is one of my favorite rides at the MK.

8143433052_ba1ccfa452_c.jpg

The Peoplemover is one of my favorite rides at the MK and the old Peoplemover at DL which closed in the mid 90s. I was really sad that the Peoplemover at DL closed in the 90s and the only way to ride the Peoplemover was to ride it at the MK. I knew that they will like to ride the Peoplemover so they can see all of Tomorrowland.

Aunt H, Aunt R, Uncle M, and DB were in one car while Uncle R, Uncle S, and I were in one.

That’s it for this post and I will have more from the Peoplemover.

I think the last time I rode the Peoplemover was in 2010; with DisneyFirefly. I don't remember much of the ride....we were both so tired that we took the opportunity to put our feet up and close our eyes....well....at least I know I did. :lmao:

Great pics of the pumpkins. I did like them a lot when I saw them on that trip. I'm hoping to see them again next year.

Thanks for the memories!

Hi Bret,
Great pictures of the day at MK. I especially like the one of your family on the People Mover. :thumbsup2

MK seems quite crowded. Were the wait times long for your rides?

TK

The Peoplemover is a fun ride to go on to relax and see Tomorrowland. It was a great idea to rest up while riding it.

The pumpkins were very neat and interesting since they have different faces which is great to see. Just less than a year until your trip to WDW during the DISmeet.

Your welcome.

Hi TK,

Glad that you are enjoying the pictures from the MK. I had to get a picture of them on the Peoplemover while we were on the ride.

The MK did seem crowded around the Hub, but then I realized that "Dream along with Mickey" was happening at Cinderella Castle so it was busy around that area when we passed by it and looked from the Peoplemover. I looked at Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin wait time and it was at 30 minutes which seems right at that ride. Monster Inc. and Stitch's Great Escape were around 15 minute wait times which seems right.

The next post will be up shortly.

Day 5 – October 30, 2012 – Part 3

We left off at Tomorrowland riding the Peoplemover going around Tomorrowland and looking at all the different things. It was a nice day where I knew that my relatives would like this ride since it was a nice ride to go around and take a break after the walking. Even though we just got at the park that day, but I like to ride the Peoplemover since it is one of my favorite rides at the MK. Four of our party members were in one train while Uncle S, R and I are in one separate one. I thought that we would be in one train but we were separated. But it was fine to ride it without them.

While on the Peoplemover we were just passing by the Tomorrowland Sppedway. While we were riding down, we can see Beast Castle as well as Prince Eric Castle at the new Fantasyland. It was very nice to see how much has progressed since the last time I was here last year at the new Fantasyland

We finally caught up to our group at the station where we got off.
8143450296_71d9a1c6df_c.jpg

When we got off the Peoplemover, we head on over to the next attraction which was the Carousel of Progress which is a classic show at DL back in the 60s and was later moved to the MK. It is fun to see the Carousel of Progress since it was part of the 1964 World’s Fair while Walt Disney supervised it. We weren’t allowed to take pictures or videotape during the attraction so there is no pictures except for the outside of the building. Some of my relatives have seen the CoP at DL back in the 60s and were excited to see this old attraction again at the MK.
8143451142_7200f452a2_c.jpg

After watching the CoP, we head on out and back in TL and went on over to the new Fantasyland Storybook Circus land which just opened a while ago. I was looking forward to seeing this new land at the MK where it is based on the movie Dumbo. So we head on over to Storybook Circus which is at the former Mickey’s Toontown Fair.

It wasn’t that busy at TL where it was around noon that day

While we were walking towards Storybook Circus, we can see the construction of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train as well as Journey of the Little Mermaid ride

We are now approaching Storybook Circus
8143429609_2afd635266_c.jpg

My first impression of Storybook Circus is that it is based on the movie Dumbo and it did look like a traveling Circus that just came in town. The colors were very nice and it was semi-busy in this new land. I also looked at the new Dumbo attraction which has two carousels instead of one like the old days. It was very interesting to see two carousels instead of just one.

There were a lot of neat signs right by the Barnstormer

8143486252_0e7ff6c579_c.jpg

The entrance to the Barnstormer which was better theme after the renovation and it has the FP system. It was already a 30 minute wait in the standby queue just to go on the ride. It was already past 12:30pm that day where we were in the park for over an hour.
8143456927_eee7c3151c_c.jpg

While passing by the Barnstormer, we looked at the new Fantasyland station which is where you go on the WDW Railroad. The station looks completely different when it was the Toontown station.
8143459245_aa45f267c6_c.jpg

That’s it for this update and I will have more from the new Fantasyland Storybook Circus land.

WOW this does look completely different. I was never a big fan of Toontown and now I think that is completely gone. We are looking forward to seeing the new Fantasyland in two weeks. It will be fun to compare it to your pictures.

Thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

TK

Storybook Circus Land is a very nice addition to the New Fantasyland at the MK. The biggest one is adding an extra carousel to Dumbo ride which needs one so badly since the wait time for Dumbo can be very long in the 30+ minute wait time just like at DL. It was about 15 minutes past noon that day which is very nice. MTT is part of Yester World which is old rides, shows and attractions that are not part of WDW today.

I have saw your signature that you will be going on a Disney trip in a couple of weeks and I didn't know what place you will be going too this year. After hearing that you will be going to WDW in a couple of weeks is making me excited for you and your family. Hope that you and your family have a great time at WDW and can't wait to hear about your experience of the new FL.

Thank you TK.

The next post will be up shortly.

Day 5 – October 30, 2012 – Part 4

We left off at the new Fantasyland Storybook Circus land which is one of the new lands at the New Fantasyland at the MK. It is based on the movie Dumbo and has Casey Jr. Circus Train, a circus tent, etc. It replaced the former Mickey’s Toontown Fair which is still under construction. All of us were looking at the new FL which is very nice and completely different from the old MTT Fair. We just walked around the Storybook Circus land to see all the new additions since this was my first time seeing the new land.

We were all walking around Storybook Circus land at the New Fantasyland where it replaced MTT Fair and it is very nice and colorful with the circus theme. We walked by the new Dumbo ride as well as the Barnstormer and saw the new FL RR station which was way better than the old RR station.

While we were in FL, we head on over to the yellow tent which is actually the FP distribution area for Dumbo and the Barnstormer.

There were a lot of different circus signs around the tent area

We passed by the Big Top Souvenirs store which is the place to get the Storybook Circus Merchandise

Right across from the FP distribution area was Pete’s Silly Sideshow tent which is a meet and greet area where the guests can choose one of two lines to meet Minnie or Daisy on one side while the other side can meet Goofy or Donald.

8143506488_f144b963c1_c.jpg

We got FP’s for Dumbo and Barnstormer as a souvenir since this is the first time seeing the new FP distribution area.

Then we head on out of Storybook Circus and over to our next destination was the other side of FL. We plan on heading on over to FL to watch Philarmagic. But we first had to get on out of Storybook Circus land and over to the other side of FL.
8143507904_2984775267_c.jpg

We passed by Dumbo the Flying Elephant area and it was only a 15 minute wait which was really low especially with two carousels instead of one. It was nice to have two carousels for Dumbo and it would speed up the loading for Dumbo and shorter wait time.
8143479515_4b07f81634_c.jpg

When we exited Storybook Circus land, we saw the building of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train which will open in the future as well as the Journey of the Little Mermaid.
8143510876_358d344dd4_c.jpg

8143511312_e3285ac7d1_c.jpg

Also during that day, we saw a lot of different people with color wristbands that day and I was thinking that it was for the preview of the New Fantasyland Enchanted Forest which has the Journey of the Little Mermaid, Be Our Guest Restaurant and Belle’s Village which has Gaston’s Tavern and Enchanted Tales with Belle. There were previews before we got to WDW during our trip in early October which was really neat that guests were allowed to come and experience the new FL before it was open to the public on the 6th of December. There was a upcoming preview on the 3rd for the AP holders and we were going to leave one day before it. I was hoping that I would be able to see the preview on the 3rd, but we had to go home and I was glad that we did a last second trip with my uncles and aunts.

So we head on out of Storybook Land and walking right by the wall that will be the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride

We are now approaching the new castle walls that is on the other side of the old FL and the new FL. They were so amazing to see the wall and towers right on the other side of FL
8143485359_010133e104_c.jpg

We decided to walk right by the entrance of the new to see the wall and towers. It was very nice and it was way different than seeing it on the computer. It will be very interesting to see this new land completed in 2014 with the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. I did watch some video clips from all different websites about the New Fantasyland and the ones that are opening this year. It would have been nice to experience the restaurant and the Little Mermaid ride and compare it to the DCA.
8143518090_28b217249b_c.jpg

That’s it for this post and I will have more from FL and a surprised experience that we would never have imagined at the MK that day.

Bret - Love the pictures of the construction. That's so cool and interesting for me to see.....7000 miles away! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you PiO. I like to see the construction at the parks since it will be something different when it opens in the future.

Day 5 – October 30, 2012 – Part 5

We left off at the MK where we just left Storybook Circus land which was one of the new lands at the MK for the New FL expansion. When we left, we now were in the original Fantasyland and passing by the construction walls that will have the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride that will open in 2014 and the new lands that will open in December which is already open.

The day was very nice and we were walking right by the castle wall and towers that leads to the New Fantasyland. They were very detailed and just like the Cinderella Castle, they match the colors which is great that they match it really well.
8143489885_284a4ab052_c.jpg

8143490639_cde1a031c4_c.jpg

When we looked at the castle wall and towers, we looked at the direction towards the entrance to the New Fantasyland. It was very nice to see the new entrance to the new FL which leads towards the Little Mermaid ride which is the same as Disney California Adventure, Be Our Guest Restaurant and Belle’s Village. There was a lot of CM’s blocking the entrance to the New FL as a lot of people were trying to head in that direction.

That’s why we saw a lot of people with the color wristbands that day where they were allowed to enter the New FL. It would have been nice to be able to enter the New FL during the trip, but we didn’t have a wristband to enter the New FL.

While we were just about to leave the area and heading on over to our next destination was Philarmagic, a CM that was working right at the entrance to the New FL came by me and asked me about my DSLR camera and the 35mm Nikkor lens. I did tell him that it was a Nikon D5100 with a 35mm NikKor and we had a nice talk. He also noticed my hat which was a Disney California Adventure hat that was part of the opening on June 14th, 2012 during DCA re-opening. My friend from LA went to the re-opening date at DCA this summertime and got me this hat which was nice of her. The CM asked us if we want to eat at Be Our Guest Restaurant and we all said that we would be fantastic and we accepted the invitation to eat at Be Our Guest Restaurant. I was completely shocked that we were able to enter the New FL and eat at Be Our Guest Restaurant. Everyone agreed that we should have lunch at Be Our Guests Restaurant that day. I thought I would never get the chance to enter the New FL during our trip and this was happening which was exciting. We weren’t given any wristbands but the CM that stopped us led us straight in towards the new FL. I was way more excited than the rest of the group which is amazing to go during a preview before it was open in December.

Here are some pictures of the New FL when we entered Be Our Guest Restaurant. My first impression of the New FL when we entered was amazing and exciting where the details of the new land are amazing. The rock worth, the trees, etc. match the story theme of Beauty and the Beast movie.

8143549642_ea7056edb6_c.jpg

While we were in the hallway, we saw that they had menus right on the side of the room telling what is available to eat at Be Our Guest Restaurant. At first everyone thought that it was going to be a sit down restaurant where we ordered at the table. But luckily I read in advance about the restaurant be a hybrid restaurant where you ordered the food like at a quick counter restaurant and get the food while seated at the tables. This was a very interesting way to eat at a restaurant where you ordered it at a stand and get it at the table.
8143550236_d34bf5dc15_c.jpg

8143550776_4f61db58ca_c.jpg

We entered another room and it was like a check-in part where we can order our food on a touch screen. It was neat that we would be able to choose our food on the screen instead of ordering it from a CM. This was way different from touching your choices of what we want to eat instead of telling a CM of what we want. It did take a while of what we wanted to eat, but it was fun and interesting to do. We did order a lot of food that day and I will get to that on another post. The food was mostly French cuisine which was something that we all wanted to have during the trip.

After we ordered our food on the touch screen and we paid for the food, we head on in towards the eating area which will be the Ball room. That will be it for this post and I will have more pictures from Be Our Guest Restaurant.

Hi Bret,
GREAT updates. It is just great that you were able to eat at Be Our Guest and get a preview of the new FL.

I'm really looking forward to our trip and the New Fantasyland. I may have to spend time there during early entry when my DL rides Buzz Lightyear and our sons ride Space Mountain repeatedly (way too jerky for me at WDW compared to DL's SM).

We will stay at Old Key West which we have never stayed at so that will be a new experience for us too.

Looking forward to hearing more about your trip to WDW! :goodvibes

We did change our plans that day of going to the New Fantasyland and it was worth it every second that day.

The next post will be up shortly.

Day 5 – October 30, 2012 – Part 6

We left off at the MK where we were at the new Be Our Guest Restaurant in the new Fantasyland Enchanted Forest & Belle’s Village. This was a complete shock to me and the rest of my group since the Enchanted Forest and Belle’s Village area is not supposed to be open until December. Right at that time there were previews to the lucky people and we thought that we were never had a chance to go in and eat at Be Our Guest Restaurant. We were glad that the CM stopped us when we passed by the entrance to the new FL and got to eat at Be Our Guest Restaurant. My first impression of the restaurant was amazed at the theme of the story Beauty and the Beast. It was also interesting to order the food on a touch screen and go to the dining area and wait for the CM’s to bring the food to us. I did read and saw videos and pictures of the restaurant of how they serve and it did help me in advance of what to expect.

After ordering the food with the touch screen, we head on over to the ball room which is like the actual ball room where Belle and the Beast danced. It looks exactly as the ball room during the movie and the details of the room is outstanding. We ate in the ball room that day since we want to enjoy the room and see all the details. There were three different eating rooms which one of them was the Beast room and another room which had a lot of Art of the characters from the movie.

We waited in the ball room until the CM’s brought our food to us. While we were waiting for the food, I got as many pictures of the ball room.

The CM’s brought the food in a very nice cart and it was time to have lunch that day. The CM’s were very nice and kind to deliver the food to us. We chose a lot of different dishes that day so we can try different food. The cuisine was French and it was nice to have a different cuisine that day instead of having American food which we have ate a lot during the trip.

Potato Leek Soup which I had that day

After I have finished the soup, I wandered around the restaurant to look at all the different parts of the room and get a lot of different pictures.

I head on over to Beast room which is the other side of the restaurant

Beast room looks exactly like in the movie which was all torn apart with curtains in ruins and the portrait of him in his human form. The Imagineers did a great job of the details of the room and a great place to have lunch or dinner.

We could have eaten in the Beast room instead the Ball room, but I really like the Ball room way more than the other two rooms. I was so amazed at the Ball room and Beast room where the rooms are just like in the movie.

That’s it for this post and I will have more from Be Our Guest Restaurant.

Hi Bret,
GREAT updates.

:goodvibes

Hi TK,

It was unexpected during that day at the MK where we got a chance to see the New FL and eat at Be Our Guest Restaurant. This trip turned out to be a fantastic trip with Party for the Senses event on Saturday and we got to eat at Be Our Guest Restaurant which made the trip even more memorable. I have only got to the restaurant and still have to cover the Little Mermaid ride where we got to ride it that day. I will tell you later on when we rode it that day.

I am so excited for you and your family that you will be going to WDW during the Holiday season. I would have spent more time at the New FL and go in Enchanted Tales with Belle at her house but my family would not have like that attraction. It would have been nice to go through that but I was just glad that we were able to go to the New FL that day. I would spend some time at the New FL and see all the little details of the new land.

Hope your DH will have a great score on Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. Every time I ride Space Mountain at the MK which is completely different ride experience and cars than the DL version, it is way more jerky then DL.

Nice to hear that you will be staying at Old Key West. It would be nice one day to go and stay on property at WDW, but I am really enjoying staying off-site and saving money so I can come back in the future. Hope you have a great time at Old Key West during your stay.

Thank you TK.

Bret - That's so cool. Both rooms look great. I remember you showing us some of the pics when we met; but I don't remember you saying that you got in as extra special pixie dust guests!!!

Fantastic and I'm so pleased for you. That CM couldn't have picked a more deserving Dis-ser! :thumbsup2

It was exciting to go and eat at Be Our Guest Restaurant during my visit in October/November trip. I did show you my pictures of the restaurant during our DISmeet at the WDFM and I didn't want to say anything about it until I post it on my trip report to make the report exciting of how we got in to the New FL. I should have said something about it during the DISmeet.

That was amazing that we got to go in for the preview. If I didn't stop in that area before we head on over to Philarmagic, we wouldn't be able to go in that day.
