Boo Bash tickets -- Only $10 discount

I am not doing boo bash. Just not worth it. I will wait until MNSS next year (or if it doesn't come back, I will just stick with doing HHN at UO)

Hopefully, people make their opinion known by not buying tickets. Somehow, I think the events will be sold out.

So, no email even though I have 2 different resort reservations (one on points, one booked directly through Disney). Do you think if I log-in, I will still get the option to buy the tickets?

For on-site guests, they go on sale next week.

We are planning to go. We had a vacation booked in mid-October anyhow. It’s expensive, but it’s just the two of us and we have no kids. I’d have to carefully consider if I had a family of four or more.

I am with DH in August, and for that, I am considering it. I haven’t gotten an email about the early buying of tickets.

I still want to go, too, but not sure if I can get past the price. I think I will wait to see the reviews before I buy tickets.

Hoping for MVVCP info to come out soon, but am not expecting much given what they've done in lieu of MNSSHP.

I do not remember there being much of a discount in previous years (in September) only 5 or 10 dollars tops, so to me the perk is the same (though a smaller percentage) But the price increase in general for basically half the time is nuts. #BobCheapskate

That's a steep price for 3 hours and no parade or fireworks. :(
It certainly is. But it should be compared to the older After Hours events, not to MNSSHP.

I hope for the MVMCP too, as this year I'll be at WDW early December. I think MSSSHP would have been too much of a risk as things are getting back to normal but capacity restrictions might still play a role in August or September. So a lower attendance cap at an event like an After Hours is a safer bet.
I think Disney counts on lifting all restrictions by 10/1, so the Christmas parties might still be in play.

I’ll be with friends in December and hoping for some special event to go to with them!!

I think it all depends on what you are comparing it to. From what I recall, you're correct about the discount for MNSSHP, but I know for a fact that my son got a $30 DVC discount on a VAH ticket he purchased for May 2020, which of course was cancelled. As the pricing and advertising for this event is more similar to an After Hours event vs a regular holiday party I think it's fair to be disappointed at the measly $10 discount and especially the $0 for discount in October.

At the end of the day, while our thought patterns may be different, I think we've both come to the same conclusion #cashgrab, #DVCdiminishingperks. :goodvibes .

Still, will we do it? Probably. Though it will be at the expense of a similar event during our December trip. We can't justify doing both and we've done MVMCP before, but not MNSSHP. I was looking forward to doing both, but not at these prices!!

We have a 7 day trip in August coming up, and won't be buying this special event, it would be over $700 for my family. It's just not worth it, since we have 2 MK days planned already and are staying at VGF and might park hop to MK later in the day anyways.

The pricing seems to be chosen by considering the full day ticket price, and adding a premium for the candy and mickey bars you might consume. For those who already have paid for admission that day, it's just a ridiculous amount of money to pay for 3 hours of "party" (5 total hours if you count in the 7pm early admission).

Comparing that to MNSSHP, the pricing was about the same as a full day ticket price ($69, IIRC), and you got 5 hours of "party" (or 7-9 hours if you count in the 2pm/4pm early admission).

My wife and I were ready to go to Boo Bash, until we saw the regular pricing and the pitiful discount offered to DVC members. Had the discount been 50% off the ridiculous published price, we'd be going. If the pricing was in line with MNSSHP, we'd be going. Nothing is so much fun as coming in the pirate outfits and riding POTC.

We will be there in mid-October with our son and DIL and were planning on going but with the price point and no discount in Oct. I'm not sure it's worth it. I absolutely love Halloween and wanted to go but the dates don't align well with our plans and with no fireworks, no parade and who knows about stage shows I don't think we will be going.

I have never been to a paid after hours event, only moon light magic. Do the AH events have lower crowds than the "parties"? If so. then yea, you cant really make a comparison (assuming boo bash limits the crowds accordingly). However, there is no doubt that this is REPLACING (at least for this year) MNSSHP. IF they sell the same number of tickets (same crowd level as MNSSHP) then all they did was change the name and remarketed it and jacked the price. If they drop the crowd, that is a different story.

On an aside, when they do VAH etc, how often do they do it...is it this frequency (basically 2x a week for 10 weeks)? Or is it more infrequent?

I get so frustrated with people equating this to MNSSHP and crying foul. This is an after hours event - same as the other After Hours parties, only this time you can get some candy, too. The After Hours parties have always been about the rides. They have never included fireworks or parades or special shows, with the exception of the Villains After Hours.

As someone who enjoys attending the After Hours parties, I am thrilled to have the option to attend one in the fall. There was never a chance the previous few years because they went from MNSSHP to MVMCP September-December.

I am going to have hope that the attendance caps for the Boo Bash are similar to those of After Hours parties of the past. I will be buying my ticket!
