Bonnet creek for x-mas to NY

I was thinking of booking a 3 bedroom from 12/30 -01/06. I have found a person to rent from I feel confortable with. He states he cannot book it yet. Is this correct you need 10 months out for a booking window? 2nd should I pay the premium and just book with BC directly, as there is TUGG stating it is hard to get this week. Honestly though it is more, I really am fine with the 379$ a night the direct site shows, but an owner was only going to charge me 175$... So that would be ideal... but not sure it is worth the risk.. any thoughts ?

What the person is saying is true, if Bonnet Creek is not your home resort then it is 10 month out booking time. I don't know about the other aspect as I don't know if this owner is reliable.

Last year, I booked a 3 bedroom presidential thru Vacation Strategy more than 10 months out for a similar time period. (We just went last month) We got a great rate ($1950 for 9 nights 12/28-1/6) and I would book with them again. We had a great trip.
