We are staying at AKL and want to try Boma. I couldn't get an ADR early enough to do breakfast so I made one for dinner. My husband is a very picky eater. He doesn't like anything spicy. He is actually a meat and potato kind of guy. Will he be able to find enough to eat to make it worthwhile going? I know I can and our two sons will but i am really starting to second guess this ADR because it isn't worth going if he doesn't eat.

There are plain meats and vegetables for even the pickiest eaters, and more interesting dishes for everyone else.

The food isn't spicy (hot). They use coffee and cinnamon (sweet) flavorings in many dishes. There's also great carving stations, roast chicken etc.

Went to dinner at Boma last month with my parents who are not really picky but cannot handle anything spicy. While there are lots of curried soups and different interesting somewhat-spicy-looking dishes that they avoided, like PP said there was also a meat carving station, roasted chicken, nut-crusted fish, etc. They also have lots of different salads, and a ton of desserts. My parents found lots of things to eat and had a great time. If your husband is having a hard time finding something to eat, take him to the kids buffet and get him some chicken fingers and mac-n-cheese.

Believe me they will be able to find something to eat there and they will love it! One of my top 10 places to eat in Disney! :maleficen:maleficen

My husband is also a big meat and potatoes guy, and while he does like spicy food he's not a very adventurous eater. He loved Boma. There is a ton of variety on the buffet.

Boma has a great buffet. As others mentioned before, the food is flavorful but not hot spicy. My DW hates salmon, and loves the salmon prepared at Boma's. My oldest DS is a picky eater and he enjoyed his meal. I love the soups that Boma's prepares. If you show up on the nights they make butternut squash soup, you could just eat that all evening because it is so good.

Liked stated before the food is very tasty, but not spicy. The have a huge variety of food from the taste of Africa to regular American favorites. The carving statin is also wonderful as well as the desserts(You have got to try the Zebra Domes Dessert.)

We are fairly adventurous eaters and I didn't find anything that I considered to be really out there. But the buffet is sooo long. There's got to be something they can eat. When we stayed at AKL we had breakfast there every morning and had several dinners there and still didn't try everything. They'd have to be restricted to bread and water if they can't find something. It's also a great opportunity to take a small spoonful of something different. You pay the same if you eat one ordinary something as if you try a few different things. It's the perfect place to try to step out of their comfort zone while knowing that it's still possible to resort to that if they don't like anything different.

My pickiest eater asked to eat there on his birthday last year and specifically requested dinner there again this year. His favorite things were the pork shoulder, the tenderloin, mashed potatoes, bread, and cookies/brownies. He does not eat fruit, most vegetables, soup, salad, or sauces in general. If the mushroom is there, it was incredibly good and very friendly to a plain eater. I did not care much for the zebra domes but the coffee tarts and pannacotta were awesome. It's worth the ADR at dinner, especially on the DDP.

there is a large variety of food for everyone. It is nice to try different dishes without having to worry about liking them.
