i made a adr for boma, i am now having second thoughts about it........my dh likes barbeque ribs, meat, potatoes etc. he isn't too adventureous so after seeing the menu at allearsnet.com, i'm seeing many different items, is there many "normal" items to choose from??? I was thinking of changing to another buffet???

Go and you will not regret it! We have been to Boma for both breakfast and dinner and it is by far the best buffet we have ever, ever been to. Our family is not particularly adventurous when is comes to food, but we found more than enough "regular" food. We also found that the African spices/flavors are not too intense - nothing really too spicy, so I would encourage that you all give some of the "native" foods a try. That's what's great about a buffet - you can try a bit of everything then go back for what you like!

Stay with your PS at Boma - I think you will be glad you did! :sunny:

Go! You will love it! The food is fabulous. Check out the various "pods" and take a small sample of each. Once you decide on a favorite -- go back and have more. The soups are absolutely scrumptuous and the desserts are wonderful.

There is a children's buffet with pasta and sauce and chicken nuggets and fries, and it's not just for kids.

There is a culinary tour each day at the AKL which is absolutely free to participate in. It's usually held at either 3:30 or 4:00 -- depending on the day of the week. You will get a tour of Jiko and Boma -- the tour being conducted by one of the chefs. It's a great way to learn all about the items on the buffet.

I hope you will give it a try. If I remember correctly, there is one or two nights a week that they actually have their versionof barbecued ribs on the buffet -- but unfortunately, I don't know which nights of the week.

Hope this helps. princess:

We really enjoyed dinner at Boma and my children are really not adventureous. The breakfast is really great too.
Maybe you could go to Boma one night and appease his need for barbeque ribs by eating at the Trails End Restaurant at Fort Wilderness, the food there was great and the price can't be beat.

We love Boma! There is something there for everyone! There are so many options that it would be impossible not find something you like! Have fun! :thumbsup2

DO NOT CHANGE YOUR RESERVATION! Seriously, Boma is awesome, the absolutely best buffet in all of WDW. The first thing I did for this trip, other than book the room, was to make a reservation for 6 at Boma. You will not regret it, the food isn't that exotic, he will find something he likes.

I agree with all the other posts, don't change. Its not as exotic as it first appears they use common ingredients and just cook them different than one might be used to. There are salads, potato dishes, etc. When we were there recently, they had BBQ ribs and prime ribs, which would keep your meat and potato people happy.
