The only ADR I can get for Boma is 7:00 on Sept 23rd we are going to be at Animal Kingdom that day. I was hoping for around 5-6 so we can ride the bus over. I don't want to sit around the lodge for 2 hours should I cancel or keep checking back. I have called every day since I made the ADR's and this is the only time. She did say she could book a 3 table and a 2 table and request to be put together but could not guarantee it. She said some tables are bolted down. This could be for 5:30 she said..

confused.. is this 7 pm? for dinner? the buses run for at least 2 hours AFTER park close. and you can show up earlier if you'd like. no guarantees though. i'd probably plan on showing up at 6:30 for it. they'll give you a buzzer to let you know when your table is ready.

I'd say the upside is that if you have to go hang out at a resort for an hour or two, AKL is the one you'd want it to be. You can go out to the animal viewing areas and watch the giraffes and zebras for a bit. Could be worse.

sorry, i realized i used the word before when i should have said after. buses run for at least 2 hours AFTER park close.

but if that's much of an issue, you should always keep checking. there are cancelations and openings all the time. i actually was just able to move my boma up by about half an hour in 3 weeks.

in my case, i'm just trying to finish before the zawadi marketplace parade

I don't think that 7:00 is too late at all. Actually it's my favorite time to eat dinner in WDW. And, like Gus said, AKL is the resort that you'd want to hang around waiting for a meal. I wish I could say that about WL, but there just isn't much to do while you're waiting.

Just curious - can you walk from AK to AKL? How long does it take? Or better to ride the bus? JW because we are doing the same thing as the OP, going to AK and then dinner at Boma, on a day when the park closes at 5:00 and our reservations are at 5:50. I'm wondering if we should try to make the reservations earlier because we are going to have to get from AKL to CSR and I'm not sure how to do that.

I remember reading about this somewhere.. there's no way to walk to AK from AKL. You have to either drive or take a bus.

You cannot walk. We usually eat at 6:30 at Boma on AK day. 7:00 is fine though. By the time you get there it will be 5:30 or 6pm. just leave the park slowly! We usually get there about an hour early.
I love the gift shop there. My DH thinks we should not have any extra time at AKL as it usually costs him more money. lasy year I bought the mama and baby elephants print! For me and My girls.
Anyway I regress, at AKL you can look at the savanah, shop, sometimes there are activities (coloring and a TV for kids) in the lobby and Victoria Fall bar is beautiful. I actually think I should make our ADR later as I may not have enough time at AKL!
