The problem of people with their faces buried in their phones started long before fp+ started. That said, I don't really care what strangers are doing, it's what our family chooses to do that matters. Not once have I been run into or bumped by someone due to them being distracted by their phone. Strollers? Wheelchairs? You bet.
On vacation, the phones aren't out except in the few instances where we need to check a ride time or glance at the screenshot of our fp times. Then it's a quick glance and back in the backpack it goes. I don't even bring my phone into the parks- someone else is in charge of checking whatever needs checking.
Truth be told, we got sick ( at least I did) of seeing everyone in our family walking around staring at their phones and the edict came down that cell phones were banned inside the park except for when absolutely needed- and those times are few and short.
One does not have to be hooked to their phone at all times. If you are, it's because you choose to be.
