body glide??

I buy a large can of anti-perspirant (not just deodorant) and liberally spray any areas that might chafe. That has worked well for me.

If you can't get or find Body Glide, I used: Soothing Care--Chafing Relief
Powder Gel (from the makers of Monistat)
You can find it near the Feminine Supplies at Target.
It worked great for preventing Heat Rash with the Humidity.

We use any solid deodorant/antiperspirant. It's a lot cheaper and works great for chafing and keeps shorts from riding up. We also put it on our feet. Keeps the blisters away. It's small enough to carry to the parks.

hmmm intersting tips!! I will try the cheaper route first. I am going to start doing some walking at night w/ my crocs so I will give the anti-persp a try. thanks !!

I swear by Body Glide. Haven't had a single blister since I started using it, and it's also great to prevent chafing between thighs when wearing shorts that are wet from a water ride.

I found that regular antiperspirant often "stung" when applied to areas that were already chafed. None of that with the Body Glide, and it didn't sweat off, either.

WITHOUT A DOUBT BUY IT! I bought it our last trip unsure and at the last minute thought what the heck. It was one of the best pieces of advice I took off this site. We live in the northeast so our sandals were pretty new, not broken in. We all wore new shoes and NOONE got blisters. I have never used moleskins so I'm not sure which is better. but you can be sure that Bodyglide will be in my bag again this year!

Okay, dumb question - do you use body glide before or after you get a blister? Does it prevent blisters? Or make it more comfortable if you get one?

Do you just rub it all over the kid's feet???

Has anyone tried this? I just happened to see it in the Avon book at work and bought some and am wondering if anyone has any info on it???

I've used it a couple of times down there and it worked fined (no blisters or chafing). However, it feels greasy almost like vaseline (it does finally absorb though). It's just alot messier than the Body Glide. I always round up getting it under my fingernails, no matter how careful I was to try to scoop it out with the top of my fingernials. I prefer the Body Glide. I've used both and they work about the same, just the Body Glide is easier and neater to glide on and it doesn't feel greasy after you apply it.

It's used to prevent blisters. We put it on first thing in the morning after our shower..on the bottoms of our feet and in between our toes. Let your feet "dry" for about 10 minutes before putting on your shoes..and you're all set.

We reapply after our afternoon break and/or as needed through out the day.

Since we have been using Bodyglide I'll never go back to using anything else. It really works to prevent chafing between the legs. Works better than anything else I've tried. We also use footglide found on that same website. DH is the one who usually gets blisters on his feet. Sometimes he still gets some but not as much when he uses it. When he does he also uses moleskin. It may be that he missed a spot with the footglide or skipped a morning of applying.
We were at WDW last week and I reminded him every morning to put it on and he didn't get a single blister all week.

We use a spray antiperspirant/deoterant on our feet. dh used to get blisters within the first day or so every trip. A couple of years ago he read about spraying his feet with the anti/deot. and has not had a problem since. I have started using it also when I wear flipflops, it makes a big difference.
As far as the body glide, my ds thougt it felt sticky.

I am really bad about chafing on my thighs and I heard about the body glide on the boards. I used it last year for our trip and it felt great! I also used it on my feet and the back of my ankles where my tennis shoes rub. Worked like a charm.

When you put it on in the mornings, make sure you let it dry before you put your shoes on.

Moleskin... I have used this many times before and if you tend to have sweaty feet, it just comes right off! I would always have to reapply at least once every afternoon because it would fall off or bunch up in one spot, which is worse than the blister in the beginning.

I found mine at a local sporting goods store (REI) for 8.99. Hope this helps!

Ditto that! I used this on my legs so my capris didn't rub me raw from the sweat. It's also cheaper than Body glide, which I found didn't work very well.I also found that my deoderant worked just as good if not better. Also don't use any of those things on your feet, just get the moister wicking socks, you can find them very reasonable at Wal-Mart. I buy the Danskins brand, works great! I didn't have one blister and my feet totally didn't sweat.
