Boatwright's Dining Hall

This is my first post, I am new to DIS but not DW and appreciate your views. I would like to ask DIS members there personal reviews with regard to Boatwright's Dining Hall. My family has never tried Boatwrights but would like to on our next visit. Thanks.

It gets mixed reviews. The menu isn't anything to write home about and I'm not sure how often it gets fully booked to the point where you couldn't go there as a walk up. If I was staying at POR or POFQ and wanted a quick or convenient TS dinner, I would go there, but I wouldn't go out of my way if I was staying at another resort. It's not worth the trip, IMO.

The times I have eaten there, I have been staying at PO. I think it is a great restaurant, very affordable as compared to a lot of others. You get a lot of food and really good service. It is almost never full, so I don't think you need to make a reservation.

If you're staying at PO, then I think you should give it a shot (really good jumbalaya if you like that..) but if you're at another resort, I don't think (personally) that it is worth the trip.

We at there in May 2010, and I thought it was the worst meal of our trip. In their defense, it was our arrival day, and I was going on no sleep. Our server was horrible, my child was acting up, and dh and I had a little spat before going in (I guess you can say I wasn't in the best of moods). The cornbread was tasty, but my meal was gross (I ordered the chicken). I think Dh enjoyed his prime rib though. I would eat there if I was staying at POR, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again.

i totally agree..other than my family just thought it was okay, nothing special IMHO
