Boat Rentals

We rented a pontoon boat right by Wilderness Lodge when we stayed there 8 years ago....but we've forgotten a lot of the details!
I've seen photos of smaller, two-people motor boats that I'd love more information about if anyone has more details.
Do you know where you can rent them? Any website that you know of where details are given, such as length of rentals and price?

If you are referring to the canopy boats, they can be rented anywhere you rent the pontoon boats.

Canopy Boats -- 16'-0"
accommodate up to 8 adults.
$25/half-hour.

Pontoon Boats -- 21' motorized
canopied platforms on pontoons
Up to 10 adults.
$34.90/half-hour.

Water Mice -- small craft that can speed up to 22 mph, $20.75/half-hour. Minimum age is 12, height requirement is 5 feet. Combined maximum weight limit for all passengers is 320 pounds. All drivers under the age of 18 MUST have a parent or legal guardian sign a release. Drivers 18 years of age must provide ID with birth date.

Can anyone over the age of 18 drive the boat? How does that work, if you've never driven a boat before? Do they give you a mini lesson or something?

I had never driven a boat untill last year when we rented at the Y&B Club. They do give you a short leson and after a few close calls (some people are crazy out there) I got the hang of it. We are looking forward to renting again this year.

DH and I rented our first water mice in Jan. It's pretty straightforward, and they give you a mini-lesson. We had a great time A few things to know - they will not open the marinas if it's below 50 degrees (if you plan to go when it could get chilly). Also, the marinas do send someone out to help you if you get into trouble (DH managed to get himself stuck in some weeds ) HTH
