I read somewhere about pontoon boat rentals (with or without a captain) for fireworks viewing - I guess in the lagoon near MK or Epcot. Has anyone ever done that and how was it?

We just came back from a trip thay we rented a ponoon boat for the Magic kingdon fireworks. It was nice but I would not do it again. It was a hour boatride in which we got a tour of the lagoon. Then we parked so we could see the fireworks. The problem was we were too far away to hear the music. his was our Magic Kingdom night and by doing this cruise we missed spectromagic. It is a nice way to relax though. If I were you I would try the epcot cruise.

You call 407-WDW-PLAY to make reservations for these boats. They come with a captain. They are pretty expensive but you can sell seats to help cover the cost. I took my sister and a bunch of DVC'ers who paid me in cash at the boat before getting on board.

I might add that you really need to do this 90 days out, although I have heard of people lucking out and getting a cancellation at the last minute. You should be prepared to call at 6:68 AM and keep trying for them. Good luck.
