Boardwalk Shopping

Is the only entrance into the Boardwalk area through Epcot or can I get it somewhere else? Would like to go down and check it out as I have never been in there, but don't want to use a hopper day of my pass. Thanks!!

You can go directly to the Boardwalk Resort and then walk through to the shopping area. If you take a Disney bus, you have to transfer at one of the parks. If you drive, you can park at the Boardwalk (although I think they will ask you to show proof that you are staying onsite).

I just wanted to mention there there really isn't much of a "shopping" area. If your execpecting a downtown disney type of area or even a small scale downton disney area you will be disappointed. The shopping area of the boardwalk is basically a resort gift shop just like you would find at any of the resorts. Admittedly it is a bit bigger than most but that is all there is there with the exception of the ESPN store which is a small store attached to the ESPN Resturant.

The activities on the boardwalk in the evening are fun and worth the visit, I just didn't want you to expect a huge shopping area.

I agree with Terry, I would not make a special trip just for shopping. The store has the same shirts, souveniers, etc as any other resort. There is an art gallery, if you are interested in that ($$$$). The restaurants are the big draw.

The easiest way to get there with Disney Transportation is to go to MGM and boat or walk from there. You do not have to enter MGM.

If you are driving, the easiest place to park is at the Swan. You don't have to go through a guard station to park there. You just walk through the hotel and down to the boardwalk. Very easy.

Another possibility is to take the bus to MGM, then when you get off, look for the walkway over to the right along the canal. It's about a 15 minute walk. Or you could just walk over to the ferryboat landing outside MGM, which will drop you off at the Boardwalk. It's slower than walking, but saves shoe leather.
